Apple is apparently working on a new gesture control feature and a curved screen for future iPhones the company may launch. The iPhone is expected to set itself apart if these new concepts are put into effect.

The new gesture control feature will let users interact with the phone without ever touching the screen. Users will be able to move their fingers close to the screen without actually tapping it. This new technology is not expected to trickle down to consumers for at least two years — if Apple chooses to go forward with it.

Apple is also working on a curved display which will be different than anything we have seen. It will be different than what Samsung smartphone screens have to offer and will be a distinct feature in future iPhones. Apple finally switched to an OLED panel on the iPhone X which opens up many doors for the company to adopt new display panels. 

OLED displays can be shaped into curves or even folded as compared to the traditional LCS IPS screen. A curved iPhone may also be two to three years away if the Cupertino giant decides to go that way. Apple is also working on a new screen technology known as MicroLED which is at least three to five years away from being adopted in Apple products. 

If you are wondering how a curved iPhone may look, one can actually look at the LG G Flex for inspiration. The LG phone did not manage to garner much success; however, we can get a fair idea how the iPhone may look in the near future.

Just like every other rumour, the information above is just speculative and just like the gesture controls, a curved screen iPhone may never see the light of day as it is still in development.
