Most men we know do not shop often, don’t follow trends and live out of their two pairs of tees and a set number of jeans.
However, impressing a woman with great style and impeccable taste takes hard work and well, good stylin’. You can go around asking the women in your life for some fashion tips and advice, but we have something to save you the trouble and actually make it a lot easier.
© Maddock Films
There’s a Reddit thread where women discussed their fashion pet peeves when it comes to men dressing up and advice they’d want to give to their male counterparts.
It’s stuff all women wish their boyfriends and husbands knew. This is basically a cheat code to impress your crush.
© Dharma Productions
Here are some fashion advice and style tips that women would want to give you:
1. Don’t Dress Like A 12YO“Stop buying tshirts with tacky phrases on them. Graphic Ts have their time and place, but they shouldn't be your entire wardrobe….if you're thinking "but how do I dress if I can't wear graphic tshirts?" then invest in some decent quality button-up shirts in some simple patterns.” –Unknown

2. She Said Please, TwicePlease don't wear gym sneakers with jeans. Or just gym sneakers outside of a gym/athletic activity. Please. –anarttoeverything
3. Wash & Iron Before You Leave“I don't really care too much, as long as it fits and has some style to it. But it can all be ruined if you haven't showered or washed your clothes.” –mandiexile
4. Play With Patterns & Colours“A few guys I know jazz up their casual / work outfits with interesting socks and ties or shirts in colors that aren't white or light blue. Men's clothing is so boring and uniform that honestly, wearing a gray button down shirt or argyle socks is striking.” –TerribleAttitude

5. Sweatpants FTW“There's nothing wrong with sweatpants in public.” –Starwhispere
6. Enough With Hoarding Clothes From Years Ago“If it's got a hole in it, it's time to throw it away unless you know how to darn clothes. If I can see your beer gut or butt crack when you stretch, it doesn't fit right.” –Unknown
7. Bad-Fitting Clothes Are A Turn-Off“Wear clothes that fit. Yes, suits are attractive, but if it doesn't fit you then you shouldn't wear it.” –PizzaLova

Even if you are a guy with zero interest in fashion, these would help you big time.

Last month, Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia was left disheartened after being ignored for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, which was eventually awarded to Virat Kohli and Mirabai Chanu.
Punia had won gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games earlier this year, but still, he was snubbed by the selection panel. Thus, there was no surprise to see a disappointed Punia threatening to take legal action against the move.
For an athlete who worked day in and day out to eventually bring laurels for the country, Punia's misfortune to somehow miss out on India's highest sporting honour was quite shocking. The failure of a country to acknowledge the hardships of their sportspersons surely sets a bad precedent, often leaving the athletes demotivated. But, Punia is an athlete of a different breed - one that believes in responding where it matters the most.
Channelling all his disappointment and aggression, Punia gave a befitting reply to the Indian selection committee - who ignored him for the Khel Ratna - with a historic performance in the 2018 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The Indian wrestler secured a hard-fought silver medal in the men's 65kg freestyle category.
© Twitter/@wrestling
Continuing his fine run this year, the 24-year-old had his eyes set on the gold after staving off a late threat from Cuba's Alejandro Valdes Tobier in the semis, to secure his berth in the 65kg summit clash. However, the Indian wrestler couldn't get the better of his Japanese counterpart Takuto Otoguro before losing the final bout 9-16.
The coveted final saw Punia trailing 0-5 early on, but the Indian wrestler made a commendable comeback to improve the scoreline 6-7 at the end of the first period. But, it was eventually Punia's 19-year-old opponent who held his nerve with a couple of telling moves. Otoguro continued to attack Punia's legs in the second period and extended his lead to secure a comfortable win in the end.
© Twitter/@wrestling
A gold-medal finish also made Otoguro Japan's youngest world champion. He surpassed the legendary Yuji Takada who had become the youngest world champion for Japan at the age of 20 in 1974. While the Japanese wrestler made his mark on the international stage, Punia, too, etched his name in the history books despite missing out on the gold.
Owing to his silver-medal performance, Punia became the first Indian wrestler to win two medals at the World Championships. He had previously won a bronze medal in the 2013 edition of the same tournament while plying his trade in the 60kg category. He is also only the fourth Indian ever to make it to the World Championships' gold-medal bout.
I want to dedicate this silver medal at World Wrestling Championships to the people died in the tragic Amritsar train accident. My deep condolences to their families. pic.twitter.com/oSsg3ABA2c
— Bajrang Punia (@BajrangPunia) October 22, 2018 If his historic performance wasn't enough, Punia's heartfelt gesture to dedicate his silver medal to the victims of the tragic train accident in Amritsar, further enhanced his reputation, not only as an athlete, but also as a great human being.

Aparshakti Khurana, by all means, is a bonafide style icon of B-town. He exactly knows how to elevate his style statement, even when he is stepping out in a casual ensemble. Remember the time he wore an expensive pair of simple joggers and when he wore the zaniest sneakers ever? That's Apar's way of turning heads.
© Instagram/Aparshakti
© Gucci
Aparshakti is seen wearing Gucci Flashtrek sneakers. These are inspired by the hiking world and feature a dynamic mix of materials like rubber, suede and technical canvas. Moreover, these have perforated padded ankles as well. The pair looks oversized and is quite a quirky pair we would say. But these for hiking? We are wondering how comfortable they would be, given the heel height and the fact that they are extra-ordinarily white.
Since these are from Gucci, the price is expected to burn a big hole in anyone's pocket.
© Viral Bhayani
All in all, this is a cool way to head to a party and those sneakers, well, we can't stop gazing at them. Take a bow, man!

The only thing that’s flourishing in India during the pandemic is PM Modi’s beard. It’s growing at the same pace as the number of Covid cases and petrol prices, and there’s no stopping. There have been numerous speculations regarding the purpose behind his reluctance to shave.
© Instagram/Narendra Modi
These fan theories (yes, I said it) include it’s an attempt to establish a political identity, send across a masculine message, his oath (sankalp) to get the Ram Mandir ready, preparation for the audition for Dumbledore and many more. Okay, the last one might be from the memers and may not be true. The reason is still unknown.

While the world discusses the reason behind his growing beard, Shashi Tharoor has a new word for it. Or should I say, he has an exotic word that he learned and used PM Modi’s beard to teach us because it fits his current grooming situation perfectly.
© Instagram/Shashi Tharoor
The word is pogonotrophy, which means ‘the act of cultivating, or growing and grooming, a mustache, beard, sideburns or other facial hair’. He edified us with the new word upon a Twitter user’s request. She wrote, “Sir, apart from your articulate speeches I'm waiting for some new word to learn. It's always great to tickle your mind with an out of the box word!”

— Dr.Priya Anand (@DrPriyaAnand1) July 1, 2021
He replied, “My friend Rathin Roy, the economist, taught me a new word today: pogonotrophy.” Before we could flip the pages of the dictionary to find the meaning, he explained it himself, taking a dig at PM Modi’s full beard. “Which means "the cultivation of a beard". As in, the PM's pogonotrophy has been a pandemic preoccupation…” he continued in the tweet.

— Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) July 1, 2021
Tharoor should have his own dictionary filled with exotic words that only he can pronounce. He has taught us dozens of words in the past that we don’t think anyone even uses in their everyday life, like floccinaucinihilipilification or lalochezia (look them up on google to enhance your vocabulary).

We might not use these ‘convoluted’ words (also from Tharoor’s vocab), but we think we can use this new ‘word of the day’, pogonotrophy, to describe PM Modi’s Pandemic look, at least until he trims his beard off.

Like it or not, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. That means planning for it, getting ready, gifting - the usual shebang. It's ironic that a day that is supposed to be all about love, is reduced to one that is about a 'Roadies' style task instead, the aim of which is to impress your partner. We examined the problem closely and found out the main issue that causes all the confusion and stress is that most men are clueless about what to gift their partners. And why don't they know what to gift? Because it's tough AF to figure out what women want. Plus it's 2018, so roses and chocolates and soft toys just don't cut it anymore. Keeping the happiness of our homies in mind, we went ahead and got the information right from the horse's mouth. We asked 10 women about that one perfect gift they'd love to receive on Valentine's Day.
1. For the practical girlfriend: I honestly don't expect, or even want a really expensive gift from my partner. What would really impress me would be if he shows that he notices really small but important, seemingly trivial details about me. I always treat skincare with priority and love the amazing sheet masks from Innisfree. If he gets me a bunch of them in different flavours, that will be the perfect gift for me. — Naina, 27, Photographer

2. For the girlfriend you have been dating forever: I would just love to be pampered. You know what would really make me happy? A super relaxed, stress-free day in the spa. What can possibly make a girl happier? — Sukriti, 29, HR Professional

3. For the spoilt girlfriend: Okay, I might sound like a materialistic girl, but let's be honest here, nothing else can give you as much happiness as diamonds. Hey, you wanted an honest answer. — Natasha, 26, Engineer

4. For the domestic goddess girlfriend: I love a man who has good taste in crockery. I'd be very impressed if he gifts me some jewel glasses. The kitchen is extremely important for me and if a man is good in there, that's half the battle won for him. — Suranjini, 30, Chef

5. For the glam girlfriend: I love lipsticks. I am obsessed. I like to collect them. If he gifts me a L'Oreal Paris x Balmain Limited Edition piece, I will be super impressed. The real challenge for him, however, will be to find a colour that I already don't own. — Liza, 26, Control Systems Engineer

6. For the classy girlfriend: I don't expect my guy to wow me with unrealistic gifts. But he surely should be able to manage an evergreen sort of gift that's perfect for any occasion. A perfume works! And you know which one qualifies as 'the perfume'? Chanel No. 5. — Anaita, 27, Graphics Designer

7. For the girlfriend with impeccable taste: Given my profession, I will be really impressed if my partner manages to wow me with a piece of decor that is minimalistic yet gorgeous. I have had my eyes stuck on this beautiful vase from Thelohasmith for some time now.

8. For the ethnic girlfriend: I am really passionate about ethnic Indian jewellery that is not gaudy. I love the pendants from Tribe by Amrapali. — Shivani, 24, Art Director

9. For the naughty girlfriend: Some good *** would be amazing. But I need to be in the perfect mood. You know what would be a perfect gift? This hot red bodysuit from La Perla I recently came across and haven't been able to get out of my mind. — Lavanya, 25, Fashion Designer

10. For the emotional girlfriend: Polaroid Cameras, one for each of us. They can capture one of their favorite moments of the day and store them, while I do the same. Let us also say, my hypothetical beloved one lives miles away from me. Every time we get a chance to meet, we exchange the physical photographs, store them with us and create memories suiting our happiness. — Divya, 22, Senior Copywriter
