  1. Drivers using phones while driving is still a major concern in many parts of the world. No matter how strict and efficient the law enforcers are, this still remains and will continue to remain a big issue. But the Australian police seem to have figured out a way to tackle the problem. AI Cameras! Yes, their solution is to use AI cameras to spot the drivers using mobile phones while driving. And it does it automatically, so it significantly eliminates the margin of error. The cameras being used by the New South Wales government uses AI to review photos for signs of phone use. It's the first time such a camera is being put to use to spot the lawbreakers. Once the camera flags a suspect, there are human reviewers to cross-check to prevent any false positives. For the first three times into the initiative, the drivers will get away with a warning. © Transport for NSW After that, however, they'll be imposed a hefty fine of $344 AUD which roughly translates to about Rs 17,000 and five demerit points. The fine can go up based on the zone in which you're breaking the law. The officials are pretty confident that this will lead to fewer incidents. They crunched some numbers from the test and noted that the initiative will prevent 100 fatal and serious injury crashes in the space of five years. Obviously, there's no way to tell if it'll bring down the fatalities for now. We'll know once the initiative picks up pace. That being said, we think it'll definitely keep the drivers in check. As it goes mainstream and the drivers get to know about it, they'll surely try to avoid getting caught paying the hefty fine. We really need a system like this in India where road accidents are still one of the primary reasons for a high death rate. Source: NSW Government View the full article
  2. 2019 has been a great year for smartphones in general. From budget phones to high-end flagships, we got a ton of new phones this year. And if there's one thing that has improved a lot this year, then it's the smartphone cameras. This has been the case across different price ranges, which is simply amazing. Today, we'll be taking a look at some of the best smartphone cameras according to DxOMark. DxOMark, for those of you who don't know, is an independent benchmarking website that scientifically accesses smartphones and its lenses. They do a pretty job of testing out the cameras and coming up with a comprehensive review of the same. So, let's take a look at DxOMark's picks for the best smartphone cameras. © YouTube/ TheVerge Firstly, we have the all-rounder category, which basically means these phones are good for both photography and videography. According to the website, it's the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition. Both of them are kickass devices and they pack some really good cameras. The Mate 30 Pro sports a quad-camera setup, whereas the Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition sports a Penta-camera setup with a 108MP sensor. The Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition isn't available in India right now, but we think Xiaomi is already gearing up to launch it, or at least a version of it, in India as the Mi Note 10. So, keep your eyes peeled. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee As for videography, well, this one must've been very easy to pick. It's the iPhone 11 Pro Max. One of the reasons we think it's best for videos because it has the ability to shoot HDR videos without losing any details. That makes a whole lot of difference. Heck, Selena Gomez even shot a music video with the phone. Yes, it's that good. Next up, we have the best smartphone with ultra-wide cameras. According to DxOMark, the Galaxy Note 10+ has the best ultra-wide lens. iPhone 11 Pro Max is also equally good, but it looks like Samsung's your best bet. And when it comes to optical zoom, DxOMark says the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is the winner. Well, that's not really surprising considering the fact that you can use the phone to take some stunning shots of the moon, just like you would on the P30 Pro. Lastly, we have the low-light photography, and the website says the Mate 30 Pro is the winner here too. Sadly, the iPhone didn't make the cut here, and neither did the Pixel 4. © YouTube/ GSMArena DxOMark hardly has budget phones on the list, so we decided to add our picks. If your budget is under Rs. 15,000, then we think the Redmi Note 8 Pro is a great option for you. It has a 64MP sensor, which means you can get some stunning-looking images with crisp details. However, if you're on a tight budget, then we think you should check out the Redmi Note 8 or the Realme 5s. Both of them have 48MP sensors and have a ton of different lenses for a versatile setup. 3. Dressing up the right way may not be your strongest point but fashion blunders are a thing and if you have been committing any of them, believe us, you are constantly being looked at. Unlike socks with sandals or semi-formal outfit mistakes, there are others that are less obvious and yet they get noticed. It's time you stop making fashion crimes. Check out this list that will give you clarity on rookie mistakes and help you dress better for all the upcoming occasions. 1. White Athletic Socks © istock If you have been wearing your athletic socks, well and good. But the plan to wear them with your classic Derby or dress shoes? That's exactly where you lost your brownie point. Keep athletic socks aside for gym hours and pick up classic black or brown socks that dovetail well with all your shoes. If you have a knack for OTT, go for quirky socks. 2. Fake Branding © istock Sorry to say this but if high-end brands are not affordable, don't buy it from any random brand. You are genuinely wasting your precious money. Buy it on the basis of how it looks and feels instead of the brand name emblazoned on it. 3. Baggy Dress Shirt © istock The ultimate mistake that men hardly care about has been wearing an ill-fitted dress shirt. But, let us tell you that a baggy shirt can make you look stumpier and definitely not good. You need to make sure that the collar is stiff and the shoulder seams sum exactly at the end of the shoulder. Take this trick into consideration so you never get raised eyebrows by your boss at work. 4. Visible Undershirt © istock The undershirt is called undershirt for a reason. It shouldn't be visible once you have your shirt on it. If you wish to leave a few buttons undone, go for a V neck undershirt. No peek-a-boo in such cases is acceptable! 5. Buying Clothes For Future Purposes © istock The biggest mistake of all times is assuming to buy clothes based on what you will wear next year. Staying motivated to gain/lose weight is a good thing but buying clothes that you don't even know would fit or not is sheer mental torture. Reward yourself when you have ticked off your goals and not right now. 6. Wearing Large Pocket Jeans © istock Firstly, this trend is not meant for men to wear. The big size pockets were made for a reason to fit the criteria of blue-collared workers. Wearing pants with large pockets can make you look sloppy and you don't want to garner unnecessary attention. Stick to chinos or straight jeans. They are your best bet to look fashionable. 7. Jewellery For Men © istock The ideal way to pull together a perfect look is that you stick to two items maximum in your clothing. Going OTT with accessories can end up in a disaster. Avoid that and stick to minimal aesthetics. View the full article
  4. In a whirlwind turn of events at Tottenham Hotspur in the last 12 hours, Mauricio Pochettino's five-and-a-half-year tenure came to a shocking and, to some, discomforting end, late on 19th November. The London-based club, early on Wednesday, announced in a statement that they will be parting ways with the Argentine to make way for Jose Mourinho on a three-and-a-half-year deal as his replacement. Pochettino's shocking dismissal comes less than six months after leading Spurs to world football's biggest club match - the UEFA Champions League final - which they eventually lost 2-0 to Liverpool last season. It was the same match whose result had instigated Mourinho, who watched the game as an analyst on a sports panel after losing the Manchester United job, to claim that Pochettino lacked that winning mentality when it truly counted. But, there is no dearth of Pochettiono's contributions to Spurs during his tenure as their manager. The 47-year-old was at the helm for 293 games and delivered four successive top-four Premier League finishes, challenging for the title in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season. And, needless to mention, he took the club to its first Champions League final last term. © Reuters However, despite the team's heroics in their best ever Champions League last season, Spurs endured a dismal start to their Premier League season, winning just three out of their 12 games so far. With just 14 points to their name, the club, that was expected to be in the top four, now finds itself languishing at the lowly 14th spot in the EPL points table - something that forced Spurs to take the unexpected decision. “We were extremely reluctant to make this change. It is not a decision the board has taken lightly, nor in haste. Regrettably, domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing,” Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy. “It falls on the board to make the difficult decisions – this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff – but we do so in the club's best interests,” he added. For a manager whose influence allowed the club to punch above their weight, Pochettino's surprise sacking was quite understandably met with immediate and immense criticism. But, while football pundits and fans rued the Argentine's axing, it was Spurs' decision to appoint the Portuguese which left many bemused. © Reuters "In Jose, we have one of the most successful managers in football. He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room,” Levy claimed. Labelled as "one of the world's most accomplished managers", Mourinho has won 25 senior trophies, including a domestic title in a record four different countries. He has also won the Champions League title twice with two clubs. He now adds Spurs to a long list of previous clubs he has managed including FC Porto, Internazionale, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United. While there is no doubt over the illustrious managerial career of the Portuguese, it is Mourinho's knack for being controversial that has often scared football clubs in approaching him. His career has witnessed numerous fall-outs with players and coaching staff of his former clubs, most recent being United who eventually axed him in December last year. So, he's surely not the right man for the job at Spurs, right? Well, not really. If anyone has followed Mourinho in the capacity of a manager over the years, they wouldn't have to think twice before saying he has a tendency of creating problems, often for the club that has hired him, than the opposition. There is little doubt over his egoistic, and often selfish, approach to press conferences where he doesn't seem to shy away from blaming the players. He is definitely not the nice guy and his idea of playing football is often deemed boring. © Reuters But, despite all the frailties, no one can literally argue his capabilities as a manager. The Portuguese might not be the nicest guy around as a manager, but he surely gets the job done. There is also adequate strength of character one needs to cope in management. Apart from that, if one was to look at his appointment purely on the basis of stats, they wouldn't be disappointed either. For starters, Mourinho has won the league title in every country where he has managed, ranging from Portugal, England, Italy and Spain - something that thoroughly highlights he's a proven winner. Mourinho has won more competitive matches (13) against Spurs during his managerial career than any other side on the opposing end. When compared with the outgoing Pochettino, Mourinho's points per game ratio at United (1.89) was exactly the same as the Argentine at Spurs in the Premier League - something that doesn't make him better, but surely not worse either. The head-to-head stats also work in the Portuguese favour. In the 16 matches (in all competitions) against each other, Pochettino managed to win a mere four games and lost 11 clashes versus Mourinho. In fact, the Argentine has lost most matches in his managerial career against Mourinho than any other coach. If the stats are anything to go by, Mourinho clearly emerges as the more decorated manager between the two. But, past achievements surely can't dictate or even predict the future. There is no certainty that the Portuguese will take Spurs to the promised land which has eluded them over the years. But, it also doesn't mean that Spurs must persist with Pochettino who seems to have lost his Midas touch, both on the touchline and in press conferences. © Reuters For so long, Spurs under Pochettino appeared to be a team on the rise, with everyone marching in unison towards the same goal of delivering tangible long-term success to the club. But the cracks in the facade started to show earlier this season and Pochettino did as much as anybody to inflict the damage. Following their Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester United earlier this year, Pochettino spoke of "different agendas" within his squad and the need to "build togetherness" among "unsettled" players. Since the Spurs' Champions League final loss, Pochettino has admitted he would have quit had his team won the title in Madrid. He has complained about the club's transfer policy and has been heavy-handed in his dealings with midfielder Christian Eriksen. Turn the clock back just over 12 months and you can find similarities between Pochettino's approach this season and Mourinho's during what turned out to be his final six months at Old Trafford. Harmony went out of the window and Pochettino became increasingly outspoken, both against his bosses in the boardroom and the players in the dressing room - something Mourinho has drawn ire for over the years. © Reuters As reflected in Mourinho's stint at both Chelsea and United previously, the path of confrontation and criticism often leads to players switching off from the instructions of their manager and the only way to solve that problem is by changing one or the other. And, Spurs' management seems to have opted for the latter. While many have offered their criticism on the latest turn of events at Spurs, the move to sack Pochettino, as claimed by chairman Levy, does appear to be in the "club's best interests". The club could have probably waited for the season to get through to take the call, but with the transfer window approaching, they probably wanted to give Mourinho enough time to build his own team - one that can help him and the club in reclaiming their reputation. So, despite all his drawbacks (including his condescending remarks), we can all argue about the appointment of Man Utd's failed boss (only in opinion) as the new Spurs manager, but the fact is, Mourinho still remains the wild card you'd want to pick in hopes of bringing in a positive change, rather than continuing with Pochettino and watch the dressing room turn into a toxic environment before a bitter fallout. 7. The streaming wars are officially underway with Disney entering the fray in India. And Disney, mind you, isn't entering as a newcomer. It has invested some $3 billion and is banking on a lot of nostalgia. Disney+ has the entire Star Wars collection in 4K, every Marvel movie released to date, a ton of original content including the highly anticipated Star Wars spinoff show The Mandalorian, and a whole lot more. So, how can you watch everything? Well, the service is officially available only in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands for now, so you can't exactly download Disney Plus and get started anywhere outside. © Disney But don't worry! We've got you covered. I spent almost the entire night trying to figure out how to get it working in India, and it was all worth the effort in the end because I managed to get it working. And guess what, I finished watching the first episode of The Mandalorian with a huge smile on my face too. It's so good! Anyway, if you're wondering how to use Disney+ here in India, then here's a comprehensive guide to help you get started and try Disney+ free for a week - Note: You must follow each and every step carefully without skipping or making any mistakes. Failing to do so will take you to a page with an error message, and it won't work. Disney+ On Android © Disney Step 1: Download the Disney+ app APK from APKPure. Install the 'ApkPure' app first and then install Disney+ from there. Step 2: Once you have the Disney+ app, it's time to get it working. Download Cloudflare's "1.1.1.1" app to get past Disney+'s geo-block. Click here to download it on your Android device. Step 3: After that, simply open the Disney+ app and it should take you to the welcome screen which looks something like this - © MensXP If not, then just search for "Disney Plus" on Google and tap the official website link (mostly the first link), click on "Log In" and hit "Disney+" when prompted. It'll take you to the app and show you the welcome page. This will only work if you're connected to 'WARP' inside the 1.1.1.1 app. Step 4: Now, simply hit the "Start Free Trial" button, following which you'll be given an option to select the subscription plan. Choose the desired plan and make the card verification payment of Re 1 (refunded immediately) to get started. © MensXP That's it. You have now subscribed to Disney+ and have access to all the Disney+ content free for seven days. Disney+ on iOS Step 1: Start by downloading the Disney+ app. You can download the app by changing the location of the App Store to the US by going to settings from inside the App Store. This may not work if you have an on-going subscription on the App Store because Apple won't let you change the location in that case. Step 2: Once you have the Disney+ app, download Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 app from here. Once done, open it and connect to the "WARP" mode. This is an important step or else it won't work. © MENSXP Step 3: Now simply open the Disney+ app which should take you to the welcome page with a button to "Start Free Trial". If not, then search for Disney Plus on google and hit the official link to open the app from there. Step 4: Click on the "Start Free Trial" button, select your desired plan and finish your verification payment of Re 1 (refunded immediately) to get started. And that's it! You've now subscribed to Disney+. Now, you can continue enjoying Disney+ on your phone itself by connecting to 1.1.1.1 or by installing a VPN extension for Google Chrome on your web browser on the computer to log in and use Disney+ there. I suggest you use "Windscribe" extension on Google Chrome because it's easy to get free data on it. You can also choose to use the VPN service of your choice, but you'll need a lot of VPN data to stream the content. © MENSXP I must point out that it's a little tricky to get the Disney+ app for your Android TV, Mac, etc. right now in India, so it's best if you use it on a phone or play it on your computer via the web browser and use HDMI to watch it on the TV. That's how I watched The Mandalorian and it was a kickass experience. If you have any queries about the procedure, then be sure to drop a comment and we'll try to get it resolved. We're not sure when Disney is planning to launch the service separately in India or integrating it within Hotstar as notified earlier, but this is the only way to use Disney+ in India right now. Good luck and enjoy the content. "May the force be with you!" View the full article
  8. Knowing how to apply a perfume might appear to be a no brainer for you but perfume is an integral part of your personal style and people tend to remember you by your fragrance. There are so many different ways of applying it and the risk is you will either end up smelling worse or give an overwhelming whiff to every person. But, you can quickly master the art of applying it. Thankfully, this guide will come handy and let the fragrance last the whole day. 1. Buying The Right Cologne © Istock The first thing you need to know here is to not look for a cheap scent that will wear off straight after a minute of its application. We recommend you try out fresher summery fragrances like woody or spicy colognes. They work well for winters too! Use the samples between your wrists and wait for a minute. This will help you understand how the perfume matures over time. 2. Applying It The Right Way © Istock The better you are at applying it, the chances of it lasting longer are higher and you will also get the most out of every bottle. Ensure your skin is dry when you are done with your shower as this will allow your fragrance to get trapped. Next, you need to identify your heat spots and those could be your neck, inner elbows, wrists and armpits. Spray only onto these areas but from a distance. Apply it lightly on your heat points. Bonus tip: Don't rub your wrists. 3. The Lasting Effect Of Your Cologne © Istock Your perfume's ability to last longer totally depends on the way you keep it. Many people tend to get sloppy when it comes to storing the fragrance. Never keep it near the bedside table as it will be exposed to different temperatures that will turn down the fragrance level. Keep it in a dark, cool place. This quick tip will let you smell great all day long! 4. Wear It At An Appropriate Time © Istock Applying cologne is your best bet to be confident, no matter where you are. But you need to be aware of how it blends with your natural oils. For example, if you are going to a party, apply only a few sprays. Your body odour can get mixed with the cologne that will only make you stink and not smell fresh. 5. Dab It Well © Istock If your cologne doesn't include a nozzle, use the dabbing process to apply it the right way. Once you have opened it, cover it with your fingertip. Take the liquid on your finger and dab it on your pulse points. One dab of it is enough and once you are done, wash your hands thoroughly. 6. Don't Apply It Too Often © Istock Once you start using a particular cologne, you will get used to the fragrance and you might think it has worn off. But, that doesn't mean you reapply it more than twice a day. Apply it before you head out and use it later when you actually feel there's a need, spray it and make sure to keep it light. 9. What comes to your mind when you think about the gorgeous southern state of Kerala? Is it the lush greenery that dominates the landscape, the enchanting backwaters, the lure of fresh spices that tickles the nose or the seafood that makes your mouth water? That's not even half of what Kerala has to offer, and yet we're so pleased with every little slice of 'God's own country' that we can get our hands on. © Flickr/Anup Balakrishnan But Kerala doesn't stop there. Even with the knowledge that it has a lot going for itself, Kerala constantly strives to outdo itself and set higher benchmarks for other Indian states to match. Kerala has numerous good deeds to its credit, which has helped the state to set examples for the rest of the country. Check out these 9 super-proud ways that Kerala is leading the country towards the real 'New India'. 1. Internet As A Basic Human Right © Twitter/Chief_tribal The Kerala government is not only the first to declare internet as a basic human right, but has also promised to provide 20 lakh poor families in the state with high-speed internet connection free of cost! 2. First Indian State To Introduce Transgender Policy After Supreme Court's decision to officially recognise a 'thrid ***' in 2014, Kerala became the first Indian state to come out with the State Policy for Transgenders in Kerala in 2015. The policy recognises the right of the transgender community to identify as the 'third gender' and seeks to promote equality for transgenders in the mainstream society. 3. Kerala's Free Ambulance Service © Twitter/YsakVK The state has its very own emergency ambulance service network called 'Kanivu 108' which has been launched by the state government under the comprehensive trauma care and management scheme. The idea is to rescue and take accident victims to trauma centres within the 'golden hour' and save as many lives as possible. 4. First Digital State In India Back in 2016, the then President of India, Pranab Mukherjee declared Kerala as the first 'Digital State of India' after it achieved 100 percent mobile connectivity throughout the state, as well as 75 percent internet literacy. 5. First State With 100 Percent Primary Education © Twitter/IANS In January 2016, the then Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari declared 100 percent primary education status achieved by Kerala. The success came due to the primary education equivalency drive of the state's literacy mission called 'Athulyam' which was a mega success. 6. First State To Introduce Water Metro Kerala has officially levelled up by becoming the first Indian state to introduce water metro for its people. 12. The Indian cricket team has suffered a huge blow as their explosive batsman at the opening spot, veteran Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out for the rest of the ICC World Cup 2019 with a fractured thumb. Although the southpaw struggled during Team India's warm up game against Bangladesh and the first official game against South Africa, Dhawan seemed to have found his mojo back against Aaron Finch's Australia. Having scored himself a massive 117-run innings despite getting a fractured thumb earlier in the game thanks to a Pat Cummins bouncer, the cricketer not only won the 'Man of the Match' award but also spearheaded the Men in Blue into winning one of the more challenging matches for the team during the ongoing world championship. Being ruled out of just a couple of matches in the initial days of the injury, Dhawan was seen sweating it out in the gym despite having a plastered thumb, with the aim of being 'ready to go' as soon as he is healed and make big runs for his nation. You can make these situations your nightmare or use it an opportunity to bounce back. ð Thank you for all the recovery messages from everyone. ð pic.twitter.com/mo86BMQdDA — Shikhar Dhawan (@SDhawan25) June 14, 2019 Unfortunately, due to a fracture being detected at the base of Dhawan's left thumb which will be in a cast for at least another month, the athlete is out of the World Cup . View this post on Instagram An official request has been made to the ICC to replace Shikhar with @rishabpant #TeamIndia #CWC19 A post shared by Team India (@indiancricketteam) on Jun 19, 2019 at 5:34am PDT The team has decided to replace one lefty with another one. While KL Rahul will be opening alongside Rohit Sharma, Pant's role as a batsman is expected to take place at the highly controversial fourth spot of the Indian batting order. Controversial because of the level of talent that was competing for that spot. With masterful players like Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu whose sturdy nature when it comes to the 50-over format being overlooked, it was Pant's 'single-handedly-six-hitting' explosive batting style that seems to have attracted the selectors going further on this unbeaten World Cup 2019 journey. While Dinesh Karthik is still on the Indian roster (but not in the playing XI), Pant's call might just have brought the biggest heartbreak for Rayudu, who was initially dropped from the team to be replaced with a newcomer like Vijay Shankar. The fans of Indian cricket therefore tried their best to have an insight about Rayudu's feelings towards the latest developments. 13. Let's face it, it's hard to keep yourself from asking for that slice of pizza, or ordering more 'bhature'. Well, that's exactly why a company decided to make an electric bracelet that delivers a 350-volt shock every time you decide to splurge on junk food that you'd be better off without eating. Called 'Pavlok bracelet', this piece of wearable tech is a behavior training device that utilizes aversive conditioning. Aversive conditioning, in case you don't know, is essentially behavior training that uses negative stimuli and association to reaffirm a specific action as undesirable. So yes, it'll know when you're doing something that you're not supposed to be doing. That being said, this bracelet can be used to keep you away from not just junk food, but any bad habits that you've been wanting to get rid of. Having trouble saving money? Smoking too many cigarettes? You name it and they know. The bracelet is capable of delivering 150 shocks on a single charge, which isn't too bad for something that's capable of tracking and stopping you from doing what you're not supposed to do. It connects and pair to an app on your phone, which even your friends an family can download to keep a track of you. © Pavlok This bracelet is currently being sold online on Amazon in the US for $199. It sounds a little expensive, but we think it's reasonable considering the fact that it's designed to help you curb your bad habits and replace them with good ones that help you live a better life. We really hope they start selling this bracelet outside the US because we all have cravings that are waiting to be kicked!
  14. After a fortnight of conjecture, Chelsea Football Club announced the exit of Maurizio Sarri as their manager through their website. The Italian will now join Serie A giants Juventus, penning a three-year long contract with the Bioncaneri. Unlike predecessors Jose Mourinho and Anotnio Conte, Sarri was never a popular figure at Chelsea. Despite a winning start and going unbeaten for the first 12 league games of the campaign, becoming the first manager in the history of the Premier League to do so, and a home win against champions Manchester City in December; a poor run of form and dip in results in the beginning of 2019 led to discontent among fans and higher level management alike. © Reuters In a club that is used to watching adaptive and reactive football, Sarri's stubborn and tactical approach did not sit well with fans. The Jorginho-Kante situation is a perfect example of this. The brilliant Frenchman was made to play away from his usual defensive midfield position to accommodate Sarri's system that needed Jorginho in the center of midfield to bridge the gap between defense and attack. This did not go down well with the fans. Even after securing Champions League football with a third place finish in the Premier League and the Europa League title, Sarri will not be the manager of Chelsea next year. It has since been debated whether the Italian was forced out of the club or he opted to seek greener pastures at Juventus. But it highlights a major problem for the West London club- the owner and board of the club never bought into Maurizio's philosophy and hiring a manger like him without believing in him is a poor decision, given Chelsea's previous track record with managers. Sarri joins Juventus as part of a clear project, to win the coveted UEFA Champions League trophy and to implement an attacking and possession based style of football while doing so. For Chelsea, however, uncertainty rings throughout Stamford Bridge regarding who will take up the role. Thank you and good luck for the future, Maurizio. ð pic.twitter.com/dGHzekBNPT — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 16, 2019 Former Stamford Bridge hero Frank Lampard is the bookmaker's favourite with former players Jody Morris and Petr Cech set to take up roles as Assistant Manager and Technical Director respectively. It seems likely that Chelsea will be bringing the old guard back but they will be in charge of the backroom operations rather than taking the field. The appointments might excite fans of the club but it also highlights two major concerns, a major change of approach from owner Roman Abramovich and the Chelsea board; and the lack of options at Chelsea's disposal to replace Sarri. Only one year into his management career with tier-two side Derby County, Frank Lampard may be a Chelsea hero, but he's a very inexperienced appointment which is uncharacteristic of Abramovich and Chelsea. Petr Cech, having just retired from football, filling the role of Technical Director is another massive risk. © Reuters With a particularly hard dressing room to manage that has gone through 4 managers in 6 seasons, the transfer of star talisman Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and a potential two-window transfer ban from FIFA due to the breaches concerning the transfer of players who are under 18, the problems are piling up for the Blues. Other managerial options such as former blues boss Jose Mourinho and ex-Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri are unlikely to take charge of such a problematic dressing room. Lampard and the old guard look like Chelsea's best option. After a successful campaign with Derby County, very nearly clinching promotion to the Premier League, Lampard has shown a Mourinho-esque swagger in his time at Derby and his promotion of youth and positive tactics are big reasons why Chelsea would consider the Englishman for the job. However, overwhelming questions still remain unanswered for Chelsea. Can Lampard do the job for them? If not him, then whom? How will they cope with the potential transfer ban? How will they balance a problematic dressing room with an up-and-coming academy? All things said and done, however, the appointment comes at a time when a legend like Lampard's appointment could be the bounce that Chelsea fans need to reignite their passion for the club as they will kick-off their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford on 11th August.
  15. United States President Donald Trump is known to have a way with words. And, of course, that isn't anything to do with great use of the English vocabulary or enlightening his audience to insightful remarks. Instead, Trump often ends up making headlines and courting controversy by expressing his beliefs and opinions under the public glare. And this aspect of his personality isn't coming to light just now, it's been around since time immemorial. Remember, new "environment friendly" lightbulbs can cause cancer. Be careful-- the idiots who came up with this stuff don't care. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 17, 2012 Even his latest diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom was met with protests and sloganeering, as thousands took to the streets of London to voice their dissent against Trump's visit to the country. (FYI, Trump denied that Londoners were protesting against his visit and called the demonstrations “fake news” though as many as 75,000 people participated in the protests.) (c) Twitter However, the latest reason why Trump is yet again trending on social media is because of his most recent tweet. For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 7, 2019 Yes, you read that right. Hours ago, Trump hit out at NASA and said that it shouldn't consider going to the moon as an achievement since the feat was already ticked off 50 years ago. Instead, the space agency should focus on “bigger things”. The tweet only confused people further, because the Trump government had earlier announced their plans to restart moon landings by 2024. As @POTUS said, @NASA is using the Moon to send humans to Mars! Right now, @MarsCuriosity and @NASAInSight are on Mars and will soon be joined by the Mars 2020 rover and the Mars helicopter. pic.twitter.com/Br1sTYfNzd — Jim Bridenstine (@JimBridenstine) June 7, 2019 But that's not all. While talking about the need for NASA to shift its focus on bigger things such as Mars, Trump ended up suggesting that the moon is a part of Mars. This major goof-up didn't go unnoticed, and people on social media cannot seem to stop themselves from sharing a great laugh at the expense of the US President and his choice of words. You are not fit to lead this country (or explain the solar system to children). — Trump's Ties (@TrumpsTies) June 7, 2019 "Science" I know reading isn't really your thing so here are some pictures! 16. Apple finally announced the new iOS 13 for iPhones and iPod Touch during the WWDC 2019 keynote yesterday. Yes, iOS is no longer available for iPad and that's because the company announced a new OS for iPads called iPadOS. iOS 13, in case you don't know, comes with a bunch of new features like Dark Mode, a couple of redesigned apps, faster app loading times, faster FaceID and more. © Apple According to Apple, the first public beta of iOS 13 will launch in July. But if the curiosity to try out the new OS is killing you, then you can actually install and check out the iOS 13 beta right now. Yes, it's possible and here's how you can do it. How To Install iOS 13 Right Now In order to install iOS 13 on your iPhone right now, you'll need a paid Apple developer account. That's because this isn't a public iOS 13 beta rollout. The beta software is only available for the developer to play with the OS and make compatible apps. If you're not a developer and don't have a developer account, then you can enroll for one right here. Do make a note that not all users are eligible to have a developer account, so you might not be able to create one right away. If you have a paid developer account, then you visit this page of the Apple Developer site to download the beta software right now. Again, do make a note that this won't be an OTA update, so you'll have to manually install the update. Wait For The Public Beta While the developer beta is out right now, we suggest you wait for the public rollout next month. For one, it'll be free to download and can be loaded via an OTA update. It'll also be slightly more polished than the developer beta that's out right now. Also, before you proceed, it's worth pointing out that it's best to create a back up before installing the beta software. Failing to do so will force you to be stuck with the beta version of iOS 13, which may or may not be very stable for daily use. Supported iPhones & iPods © Apple According to Apple, these are devices that can take part in the iOS 13 beta - iPhone XS, XS Max iPhone XR iPhone X iPhone 8, 8 Plus iPhone 7, 7 Plus iPhone 6s, 6s Plus iPhone SE iPod Touch 7th Generation Well, now that you know everything about iOS 13 beta, go ahead and check out all the new features that are available.

  18. Computex 2019 is currently underway, which means it's time for us to check out some cool new hardware products. After AMD's new chipset announcement, now ASUS has decided to turn up the heat with some kickass products. The company launched a ton of products today, however, it's new “Edition 30” ZenBook laptop is what caught our attention. So, ASUS is celebrating its 30-year-anniversary with this new special edition laptop called the ASUS ZenBook Edition 30. Before we talk a bit more about the product itself, let's just take a moment to appreciate how awesome the laptop looks - © YouTube ASUS The new ASUS ZenBook Edition 30, as you can see, sports a white leather lid cover and an 18-karat rose gold logo, which resembles Star Trek's Starfleet insignia, no? According to ASUS, every piece of leather used to make these laptops have been hand selected, and each panel cover is meticulously sewed by a master tailor. Yes, it sounds like overkill, but hey, it's a limited edition product. Internally, the ZenBook Edition 30 is powered by Intel's 8th Gen Core i7 processor coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and PCIe SSD storage. For graphics, the laptop uses Nvidia's GeForce MX250 discrete GPU. It sports a 13-inch display on the front with minimal bezels. With a 95-per cent screen-to-body ratio, ASUS says this is the world's smallest 13-inch laptop. ASUS is also making special accessories for this laptop. There's a pearl white mouse and a leather sleeve, both of which look equally good. Sadly, ASUS won't tell us when the laptop will go on sale and for how much, so you can't really buy it just yet. Even once it's up for grabs, we're sure it's not going to be cheap.
  19. The world of Netflix is an endless menu that never satiates our appetite. This week, in case you're looking for a little something to binge-watch that catches your fancy and keeps you interested, then allow us to recommend you 'Dead To Me', a dark comedy which depicts life in odd situations and is very real and raw in parts. The brilliant series stars Linda Candellini and Christina Applegate in the leads as Judy and Jen, respectively. The story is simple when you look at it. Jen is a widow who is frustrated with life after her husband Ted dies in a hit-and-run accident and she can't cope with dealing with life as a single mother and is looking for Ted's killer. Then comes Judy who is an over-enthusiastic, super optimistic and suspiciously sacchariferous to the eye. They eventually become friends and Judy helps Jen cope with the loss. It's neither a mush drama, nor is it a soppy soap opera. Together the two women learn to pick each other up and face life, one day at a time. However, there is a looming secret about Jen's dead husband Ted and another stomach-curling revelation which you find out in the first episode only, and that will change your perception about how you perceive the characters completely. People on the internet are absolutely loving it. I watched the first episode of #Deadtome on Netflix yesterday and IT GOT MEEEEEEEE. By the end of the episode was like pic.twitter.com/RlITJWuYJR — RAVEN B. (@RAVIEB) May 23, 2019 Also, Dead To Me, on Netflix is a fucking triumph. Is that wrong?#netflix https://t.co/bgcjqMKMN9 — eleni (@elenikoko2) May 25, 2019 The show is sometimes eerily real, so much that it makes you laugh and you kind of feel bad when you laugh on something you really shouldn't, because it will make you look at yourself and say 'that's me' and you won't feel great about it, but then you're only human. It also has a very 'YOU' vibe to it (another brilliant stalker drama on Netflix) and makes you think about who you can really trust. With 10 interesting episodes, this can be your weekend binge.

  23. Google announced a bunch of cool new Android Q features last night during the Google I/O 2019 keynote, and the update is now available for a bunch of smartphones. But before we check out the list of phones that will receive the update, here are all the cool new features of Android Q: Live Caption © YouTube Live caption feature, as the name suggests, will put an end to your subtitle woes. Yes, Google has revealed that this particular feature will take the words spoken in a video and display captions in real time. Live caption feature is not limited to just the videos you watch on, say, YouTube or Netflix, it can even show you captions in a video you've taken on your phone or any videos which you've received on WhatsApp, etc. So cool, right? Dark Mode © YouTube Yup, Android Q is getting a system-wide dark mode called 'Dark Theme'. So, the dark mode, besides making your phone look cool, can also help you get a little more juice out of your phone's battery. On Android Q, you'll be able to enable the dark mode by simply switching a toggle. New Gesture Navigation © YouTube Gesture navigation is something which Google had introduced with the last version of Android, but now, it's going all in. Honestly, we think it's very similar to the gesture navigation which we have on the iPhones. Here's how it works - In Android Q, there's now a thin, long white bar at the bottom instead of the 'pill and back button combo. You can simply swipe up from within an app to go home or swipe up and drag across to go into the multitasking view. To get to the app drawer, you can just swipe up from the home screen. To go back to the previous screen, you can swipe in from either side of the display. Yes, the new gestures on Android Q are very similar to Apple offers on the new iPhones, but it's not necessarily a bad thing because the iPhones gestures are fluid and they work like a charm. Permissions and Privacy © YouTube Much of the Google I/O keynote last night was about security and privacy features. Yes, Google seems to be taking the user privacy very seriously, and it shows with this new build of Android. The company has added a new 'Privacy section to settings, which will have a mix of different settings to let you take control of your privacy. There's a lot of ground to be covered in this section, but the gist of it all is that Google is very serious about user privacy and it wants the users to be on the front and centre of it all. Focus Mode © Google Google already introduced an extensive set of features to keep you away from the phone under the 'Digital Wellbeing' tag last year with Android P. Well now, the company is adding a new feature called 'Focus Mode'. This new mode is just like Do Not Disturb feature, except you'll be able to pick the apps that you find distracting or tempting, and shut them down for some time. It's a simple idea, but we think it'll users be more productive. Apart from the aforementioned features, Android Q brings a lot of other new things like Parental control, changes to notifications, the way the security updates are handled, and more. List of phones that can enrol in the Android Q beta - · Google Pixel 3, 3XL · Google Pixel 3a, 3a XL · Google Pixel 2, 2XL · Google Pixel, XL · ASUS Zenfone 5Z · Essential PH-1 · Nokia 8.1 · Huawei Mate 20 Pro · LG G8 ThinQ · OnePlus 6T · Oppo Reno · Realme 3 Pro · Sony Xperia XZ3 · Tecno Spark 3 Pro · Vivo X27 · Vivo NEX S · Vivo NEX A · Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G · Xiaomi Mi 9 If you have any of the devices mentioned above, you can now enrol for the Android Q Beta and check out all the new features.
  24. This article contains major spoilers, proceed with caution! 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, episode 4 just aired and we're slightly disappointed with how the events unfolded. Primarily, because after burning the men and women from the last episode, who'd died in the Battle of Winterfell, there was still no clarity and focus on how everything unravelled. There were celebrations and people trying to figure out if Dany would make a befitting queen. © HBO Yes, that was another daunting and disappointing aspect of the show. Daenerys is obviously relentlessly pissed off at the fact that Jon Snow can take over the Iron Throne after the war is won and of course, that's not settling well with her. That's why she asks him not to disclose who he really is and that's the first trait of madness we witness in her. Sure, she may love him, but a woman known for burning her enemies, clearly consumed by rage and passion, isn't likely to make the wisest or most compassionate of judgments and is not really a queen fit enough for the throne and this episode is the first testimony to that statement. © HBO Here are 3 prominent reasons why Daenerys Targaryen is not a suitable queen for the Seven Kingdoms: (1) Her Interpretation Of Her Rule Is Not Through Kindness Yes, Dany can be kind and unruly but most times, she's been rather blunt with her choice of execution. Burning them to the ground is the only way Dany sees fair judgement and we've seen that in the past episodes. But the bad part is that her advisors and council act on those very instincts as well. For instance, when Missandei used the word 'Dracarys' towards the end, it's way too problematic. © HBO If you remember how Missandei was freed from slavery, you'll know why. Dracarys means dragon fire and it's a command Dany's dragons follow to burn cities or people. When she ordered the dragon to slay with fire, it's definitely a symbol of freedom but synonymous with death and destruction. When Missandei repeated it, it felt like the queen's mad intent to use her dragons to burn everything down was what Missandei picked up on and said fiercely on her death bed as well, as a watchword. Making it seem like neither the queen or her followers really cared for the people of the Seven Kingdoms. (2) She Never Listen To Her Advisors A good leadership skill to have is listening to the advice your advisors bestow upon you, because some may be more experienced in terms of knowledge to give adequate advice. Dany, if you notice, has stopped paying any heed to her hand or to her other advisors. Case in point, when Sansa advices her to give the army time to recuperate from the war, Dany puts her foot down claiming Cersei is waiting for her and her army grows while she waits. Again, when Varys suggests she acts a little more tactical, she practically shuts him down. Her want for the throne is greater than anyone's life and she's far from understanding that, especially through other people. © HBO (3) She's Impulsive As the seasons carry forth and Dany comes closer to the throne, her ways of dealing with things have become more impulsive. Right after Jon told her who he really was, she's been in a hurry to get to the throne somehow. She made no effort to think about what dangers may lie en route King's Landing and made a journey without a strategy or an alliance even and (assumably) lost her dragon in the bargain. During the end, when Missandei was beheaded, Dany didn't show resilience like any good ruler. She showed immense anger and what may seem like her heading towards Drogon, whom she may lose too. If she let's go of her recently acquired impulsive nature, maybe she can think with a bit of tact and apply strategy where it's required. © HBO We're not sure if she will turn out to be like her father after all and lose her life in the battle. The signs seem a little more clear when she unreasonably asks Jon to not reveal his true identity because then they can't be together. Well, maybe the real reason is that she seeks the throne and Jon is a threat, even though he doesn't wish it. What happens next is unforeseeable but let's hope it ends well for Dany. But for now, she's not fit to be the rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
