  2. With a plethora of choices for truly wireless earphones, it kind of gets hard to decide which one is perfect for you. Well, if you are an Android user who wants a TWS that offers great sound, comfortable fit and noise cancellation, the Galaxy Buds Pro fits the bill. The new earbuds by Samsung were launched alongside the Galaxy S21 Series and I’ve been using the earbuds for almost everything for the past few weeks. Be it music listening sessions, attending calls on Zoom, or watching video content, the Galaxy Buds Pro has well suited my purpose. Here’s what I think about Samsung’s latest TWS earbuds: Design and FeaturesI’ve always wanted the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ to have some form of noise cancellation and Samsung delivered on that front with the Buds Pro. Samsung has been killing it with their wearables and the same can be said about the company’s wireless audio products. It is the only worthwhile competitor to the AirPods pro right now, thanks to everything it has to offer. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla This time around Samsung went more with a classic design instead of using the bean-shaped earbud on the Buds Live. The TWS earphones come with multiple ear tips which you can change according to your preference. I usually use the largest size simply because it fits my ear canal the best. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Using the buds is quite a dream as they don’t really fall out that easily even though they don't not come with ear fins like previous generations. Even when using the buds while exercising, the buds do not fall out that easily which I cannot say for other earbuds I have tested. Both earbuds come with touch controls as well which can be turned off manually from the Wearable app if you want to avoid accidental touches while working out. The touch feature is quite responsive and is easy to use for carrying out functions such as skipping tracks, play/pause music and answering calls. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla You can also toggle between the three noise cancellation options by using the touch controls. In my experience, the Buds Pro delivers slightly better noise cancellation than the previous Buds Live and that’s due to the design of the earbuds themselves. Buds Live offers impressive ANC performance and the fact that Samsung improved upon that with the Buds Pro makes it currently the best ANC device to use for Android right now. You can even let ambient noise in from the earbuds for situations such as walking on the road. This feature is essential if you want to be mindful of your surroundings and need to be able to hear oncoming traffic. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The charging case is also very similar to the Buds Live which means it is easier to carry in your pocket and does not take up too much space. The charging case can be charged wirelessly or with a USB-C charger. You can get an hour of playback time in five minutes from the charging case which is quite impressive. The buds themselves can last up to five hours on a single charge with ANC enabled, defeating the AirPods Pro by an extra hour. Sound Performance The return to a traditional buds design also works in the Galaxy Buds’ favour as the sound experience is also enhanced. The dual-driver array developed by AKG does help in giving a deep bass and balanced mid frequencies. It is the perfect balance needed for wireless earbuds for both music-listening and viewing videos. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Since most earbuds use a single driver, the Galaxy Buds Pro has a huge advantage over its competition since both drivers can handle particular frequencies. A single driver design is usually not preferred as it has to handle all the frequencies which makes the overall experience a bit lacking. Since the dual drivers can divide the mids and lows between them, the final output is far better than what you would get from cheap TWS earbuds. In fact, I prefer the Galaxy Buds Pro’s sound over the AirPods Pro as well. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The low-frequencies are represented well while the mid and high frequencies have enough headroom for clear and crisp sound. If you like listening to Hip-Hop or electronic music, the Buds Pro are ideal for you. You can also use the ‘Dynamic’ EQ feature from the companion app to have it tuned automatically according to the content you are listening to. For example, if you are watching a video, it will automatically switch the sound profile or when listening to a podcast. Additionally, you can also adjust the EQ manually if you like more control. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla While the sound is well balanced and suits almost every purpose, I also judge the call quality of earbuds as most tend to cheap out in this category. The Galaxy Buds Pro has an impressive set of microphones which delivers great voice audio quality on calls or even when capturing vlogs. Not many earbuds offer great microphones performance for calls but in the case of the Galaxy Buds Pro, you don’t need to worry on this front. The Final Say If you are looking for a great pair of ANC TWS earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Pro fits the bill quite well. With extensive features, great sound and a comfortable design, Samsung has nailed it out of the park with the Buds Pro. If you are a Samsung user, the Buds Pro will not be a disappointment and are the perfect accessory for your Galaxy smartphone. View the full article
  3. Ranvir Shorey is one of thoe actors who never shy away from voicing their opinions. He is quite active on Twitter and often gives befitting and savage replies to trolls who try to nag him. In fact, he gets a lot of flak for voicing his opinions too. For instance, he recently faced a lot of backlash for his comments on students participating in political discussions. He had said, “Keeping students out of politics is actually a good thing, imho." Keeping students out of politics is actually a good thing, imho. — Ranvir Shorey (@RanvirShorey) February 15, 2021 One of the users on Twitter trolled the actor and hit him below the belt by making a personal remark. He tweeted, “Konkona was Right When She Left You." Konkona was Right When She Left You. https://t.co/RBDCZX7cx3 — Yash (@Datascientist3_) February 15, 2021 Even though the comment was made in bad taste, Ranvir had a really witty response up his sleeve. Replying to the person, Ranvir wrote, "No, no, apparently I’m right and she’s left." We know Twitter is a platform where people don’t really care about drawing lines and can stoop to any level just to counter someone's point. No, no, apparently I’m right and she’s left. — Ranvir Shorey (@RanvirShorey) February 15, 2021 Ranvir and Konkona got married in 2010 and separated five years ago. Their divorce was finalized last year. The couple has a son together, named Haroon. Talking about the possibility of any future collaboration with Konkana, Ranvir had said in an earlier interview, “I doubt that. With the first one (Konkona's directorial debut A Death In The Gunj), she made sure I was a part of it, but we were separating at the time. Even if the bitterness is there, it should not spill over to the child's life. That is more important for me. Whatever steps we take, they have to be right for Haroon.” On the professional front, Ranvir was last seen playing a corrupt police officer in Rajesh Krishnan’s comedy Lootcase, which also starred Kunal Kemmu, Rasika Dugal, and Gajraj Rao. 4. Vijay Deverakonda's fashion sense is as flamboyant as his personality. Time and again, the Telugu star has made a great case for loungewear style. From wearing relaxed lilac shorts on a flight to sporting a short suit, Vijay's sartorial sensibilities are the one to watch out for. Apart from that, he also knows the sort of sneakers that will blend with his ensembles. For example, when he showed us an uber-cool way to dress down with pristine white sneakers and made it easier for us to cop the style. © Instagram/Vijay Deverakonda © Hyperbeast Vijay is seen wearing Adidas YEEZY 700 V3 "Azael". These sneakers steer clear of bold aesthetics, rather have a slimmer appearance. There's no presence of BOOST cushioning for these sneakers. Furthermore, the Azael edition has a black neoprene bootie style with a notched collar and striped textile underlay. These come encased in a sculpted, open-work cage and has a perfect lacing to it with glow in the dark detailing. © Hyperbeast © Viral Bhayani Taking a look at the actor's outfit, it can be described as normcore fashion. Vijay was seen wearing a basic white T-shirt in a sheer fabric. He teamed it over beige shorts. As for his accessories, he chose a beanie as usual and topped off the look with a black mask, again by Adidas. The overall vibe of this look is quite relaxed. The sneakers added just the right amount of oomph to his ensemble. On the work front, Vijay currently has Liger movie in his kitty, which is slated to release in 2021. View the full article
  5. Poco has been making some compelling smartphones even though some might be rehashed versions of other models. However, its latest M3 model is by far the most unique looking and value for money smartphone available in India right now. The Poco M3 launched in India for Rs 10,999 and when comparing the specifications on board to other phones in the same category, the Poco M3 is hard to ignore. We’ve been using the smartphone for the past 10 days and here’s what we think about the latest budget offering: Design and Display Poco M3’s design is quite unique to its category as it comes with a distinct appearance that one can spot from afar. At the back, the smartphone has a massive rectangular camera module with elegant branding on the right side that somehow fits with the overall design of the phone. We’ve seen this before on the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk Edition and this looks almost identical. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The back of the phone also uses a plastic material that has a grainy texture to it. Had the phone used a plain plastic back, I wouldn't be much of a fan of the design, however the textured back does give the phone a slight premium feel. It's not on the same level as flagship phones, but the design is quite far ahead of other models in the same price category. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla At the front, the smartphone uses a water-drop cutout for the selfie camera which feels like a design choice from 2018. Most phones now use a punch-hole design and it feels like Poco M3 decided to use the leftover inventory of the water-drop displays to keep the price low. Much like the M2, the M3 also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the power button which works fairly well and faster than in-display scanners. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The phone is available in three colours i.e. black, blue and yellow where the yellow models look most attractive to me judging from the pictures. I’ve been using the blue variant which also looks awesome as it is quite subtle and is not jarring to look at. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Poco M3 uses a 1080 x 2340 pixels FHD+ LCD panel which is good enough for a budget-friendly smartphone. The screen may not offer deep blacks as an sAMOLED display but it still gets the job done. The overall experience of viewing content on social media and OTT apps is largely similar to most budget phones with a peak brightness level of 400 nits. The screen does a great job indoors but can be hard to use under direct sunlight. Colours seem fairly accurate for an LCD panel but can give that highly saturated look in certain videos. Overall, the display is decent to use for daily video consumption as it does not have any colour bleeding or any tinting problems. Camera © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Poco M3 comes with a 48MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP Depth camera. I would have preferred an ultra-wide lens over a macro camera on the phone but for some reason, Poco decided to include the least used sensor on a smartphone instead. The camera app is fairly straightforward to use apart from a few modes that are buried between the menus such as Night Mode and Macro shots. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Poco M3’s camera performance is quite standard as it can take some decent shots when there is enough natural light. However, once you are indoors and do not have enough light coming in, the overall picture tends to lose details. The camera also takes slightly longer to focus on objects which can be a bit frustrating as a smartphone’s camera should work as a point and shoot device. Portrait images are fairly accurate thanks to the depth sensor as it managed to apply the bokeh effect quite accurately. It can detect objects as well which is quite handy and you can even adjust the level of a blur after taking a shot. The macro lens lets you take close up shots of objects but in my experience, the final image was quite blurry and did not have enough details to justify the feature. The image also comes out in a lower resolution which defeats the purpose of having a macro lens in the first place. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Capturing images in low light can be a bit of a pain as the camera app does take its sweet time in charting images. While using Night Mode, it takes particularly long to capture an image where you can find yourself waiting 3-4 seconds for the entire process to finish. There is noticeable grain and sometimes over-saturation which makes the final image not worth sharing on social media. Performance and Battery Life The Poco M3 for a budget phone runs exceptionally well when it comes to carrying out tasks like social media, internet browsing, navigation and instant messaging. You can easily multitask between apps even though it is slightly slower than what we expected. Having said that, the animations and overall scrolling experience do feel slower than previous Poco phones. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In our benchmark tests, the Poco M3 scored 312 (single-core) and 1254 (multi-core) on Geekbench 5. While this may not seem much in comparison to flagship phones, the score is appropriate in regards to how much the phone costs. Since the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM; it’s quite impressive to see how the phone scored considering its price. For gamers, the Poco M3 may not be the ideal smartphone to use to play competitive online games and RPGs like Genshin Impact. There are some frame rate drops in high graphic settings and the only way to enjoy games is by lowering the graphic settings. Additionally, the phone does throttle a bit and gets slightly warm around the camera module area. If you are looking to game on this smartphone, the Poco M3 is more suited for casual games that do not require much GPU power. The Poco M3 comes with a 6,000mAh battery that can easily last you 1.5 days on a single charge depending on your usage. The battery can also be fast-charged as it supports 18W PD fast charging that can fully charge the battery in about 2 hours. The Final Say The Poco M3, as a budget phone, gets everything done that you need from a smartphone. While some features do need improvement, it is still a compelling device to consider for Rs 10,999. The Poco M3 may not be the best at gaming or taking low-light images, it is still good enough for power users who use a phone for most use cases. The Poco M3 is the most unique looking smartphone in its category and does not disappoint when it comes to battery life. The Poco M3 also does not serve any ads in its user interface which makes the overall experience far less annoying as compared to Redmi smartphones. View the full article
  6. As India locked horns with England in the second test of the series at Chennai’s Chepauk stadium, captain Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. The hosts got off to a shaky start as in the second over of the game, Shubman Gill was dismissed by Olly Stone. Following Gill’s dismissal, Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara combined to steady the ship with an 85-run partnership for the second wicket. Rohit Sharma stole the limelight as he seemed completely unperturbed by the tricky wicket. In fact, Kohli echoed every Indian fan’s emotions, when he cheered for Rohit from the dressing room as the latter drove Stuart Broad for the first boundary of the Indian innings. Yes boy ! : Virat Kohli applauding Rohit Sharma 's glorious cover drive. #RohitSharma #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/4v7CAYz4KI — 🄿 ♚ (@Rarefieed) February 13, 2021 Kohli was seen screaming “Yes Boy” from the dressing room as Rohit Sharma scored the boundary to open his account from what seemed to be an overpitched delivery from Stuart Broad. Rumours of a rift between the Indian captain and the hitman have been doing the rounds since the past few years. These rumours first came to the fore during the 2017 Champions Trophy and during last year’s IPL. It was further fuelled by Rohit’s decision to head to India instead of going to Australia with the team. However, both the players have proven all is well between them with their actions on and off the pitch. Recently, Sharma congratulated Kohli on the latter becoming a father. And captain Kohli’s gesture in the dressing room proved again all is well between the two. Fans were also quick to notice the gesture and flooded Twitter with positive reactions: Yes boy ! : Virat Kohli applauding Rohit Sharma 's glorious cover drive. #RohitSharma #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/HrtVbq6uhY — Ankit Karn (@Ankit_karn512) February 13, 2021Virat Kohli Appreciating Every shots of Rohit Sharma. Ajinkya Rahane also seems well set at 50* on the other end of the pitch. India is currently batting at 207/3 in the 3rd session of play at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai of the 2nd test match between India and England. India are trailing 0-1 in the test series at the moment. View the full article
  7. It would be an understatement to say that FAU-G had a very rocky launch where it saw phenomenal installs and uninstalls at the same time. The game also saw a massive drop in ratings which is a clear sign of disappointment from Indian gamers. In fact, our time with the game was not what we expected either and noticed the game had a lot of missing content and was not up to the mark. Here’s the thing, just because the game is made in India, doesn’t mean we have to automatically like the game. There are other games that were made in India and have received worldwide acclaim such as Raji: An Ancient Epic. Having said that, there is still potential in FAU-G to turn around its fortunes and deliver a playable game in the near future if they improve mechanics and features. 1. Enemy AI © nCore Games The enemy AI in FAU-G is a joke at the moment where the player does not face any challenge in missions. Enemies aimlessly just melee attack the player which can be blocked with a tap on the screen easily. In fact, the only challenge players face is when they face multiple enemies at the same time which aren’t that difficult to defeat. 2. Difficulty Settings © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Since FAU-G is currently a single-player experience and the enemy AI does not pose any challenge, the game should have implemented multiple difficulty levels so that players could kill more time within the game and up the ante. Since there is only one mission to play at the moment, the game could also implement some form of achievement rewards such as cosmetics, badges and ranks if players can defeat the missions in higher difficulties and in different ways. 3. Add Guns © nCore Games Currently, you can only play as an Indian soldier who swings melee weapons at enemies. Even though the trailer featured an Indian soldier wielding and firing guns, they were nowhere to be found on launch day. In fact, it’s a classic case of false advertising to generate hype and fool Indian gamers to get the word going. However, the final game did not feature any guns whatsoever which annoyed many players. Yes, I was as baffled as you that an Indian soldier does not have access to guns to combat enemies in the game. It seems like the military theme was added in the game as an afterthought since there are no mechanics available as of now to support any sort of gunplay. 4. More Missions © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Instead of releasing single missions at a time, nCore Games needs to release multiple story missions to keep players engaged in the game. The intention of every free-to-play mobile game is to have customers spend as much time in games as possible and in turn sell in-game items for profit. However, at the moment the game’s state has led to players simply uninstalling the game which is never a good sign. 5. Basic Mechanics © nCore Games Whether you want to accept it or not, basic gameplay mechanics such as movement, attacks, and blocking feels clunky and not as smooth as other mobile games from the genre. Smooth movement is essential for fast-paced games and in the case of FAU-G, animations feel like they were from a test build rather than a complete game. From the initial release of the game, it was clear that the game was rushed to capitalise on PUBG Mobile’s ban but in turn, sacrificed quality and content for a rushed January 26th release. 13. Apple is known for making bold moves which instant results in the internet making fun of the company. In fact, many companies also get in on the action but make fun of the Cupertino giant whenever Apple decides to do something “out of the box” if you know what we mean. There have been plenty of times Apple’s main competitors have tried to get an upper hand by poking fun but later follow the same exact footsteps later on. 1. Samsung © Facebook The South-Korean giant has always been at the forefront when it comes to taking a jab at Apple and later adopting the same strategy. It all started with Samsung making fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack but later adopted the same design for the Galaxy Note 9. Apple removed the headphone jack for better water resistance however was met with quite a bit of backlash online for making that move. Today, almost every smartphone company makes a flagship phone that doesn’t come with a headphone jack. Most recently, Samsung also took a jibe at Apple for removing the charger from the box. Mere months later it seems Samsung will also be doing the same with the Galaxy S21 Series set to launch later this week. 2. Huawei © Weibo Huawei has been notorious for lifting quite a few features and design aspects from iPhones and it seems like that isn’t going to stop anytime soon. Huawei also recently confirmed that the company might remove the charger from the box of some of its phones. The company was recently found asking customers if they thought it was necessary to bundle the Type-C charging cable with their products. Apple did the same before removing the charger from the box of the iPhone 12 however in Huawei’s case it could be slightly more controversial. Unlike Apple and Samsung, Huawei smartphones use their own proprietary fast-charging method and do not use the universal PD protocol. Huawei also wasted no time in copying the iPhone 12’s design a few weeks after Apple’s launch. Huawei launched the Nova 8 SE that literally lifted all the design aspects of the iPhone 12 including the throwback squared-off design. 3. Xiaomi © Xiaomi It seems like there is a recurring theme here when it comes to copying Apple’s “out of the box” choices. Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 11 which also doesn’t come with a charger in the box. In fact, Xiaomi poked fun at the iPhone 12 with a tweet promoting the Mi 10T Pro. The Tweet said, “Don't worry, we didn't leave anything out of the box with the Mi 10T Pro.” However, fast forward a few months and one can see why that tweet didn’t age well. Xiaomi has also been known for lifting quite a few designs from Apple for various products. The most notable being Mi Laptops that sell in China. Xiaomi has also copied designs for other products such as the iPhone, Routers, Magic Trackpad, AirPods, Promotion material, Apple TV just to name a few. The Chinese company has gotten better over the years with original designs for many of its products 4. Notches Everywhere © Twitter/Fossbytes Soon after the launch of the iPhone X, almost every smartphone company had a product that featured a notch. However, what baffled us the most was that Apple’s notch design serves a purpose i.e. proper facial recognition using infrared sensors. However, most smartphone companies did not implement a similar method of facial recognition and instead used the notch design for the heck of it. Samsung posted a notorious ad for mocking the notch design on the iPhone X and adopted the same design a year later with the Galaxy M series. 5. AirPods © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple’s AirPods have been dominating the true wireless market ever since it launched alongside the iPhone 7. However, many companies copied the design by Apple soon after to get a slice of the market. Realme launched the Realme Buds Air in 2019 that looked almost identical to Apple’s AirPods. In fact, if you placed each of the earbuds next to each other, it would be very hard to determine which one was the original. Xiaomi also copied the design for its AirDots Pro which looked awfully similar to the AirPods with slight design changes. View the full article
  14. Rumours of a foldable iPhone have been floating for a while and it seems like the ‘iPhone Flip’ might become a reality soon. According to a leak by supply chain sources, Apple is looking at taking on Samsung and Motorola with a foldable phone of its own. United Daily News cited sources and reported that Apple has asked its supplier Foxconn to supply two prototype shells with displays that fold. Both of these models are different from each other © EverythingApplePro One of the prototypes is akin to the Galaxy Z Fold and the Motorola Razr where it resembles a traditional flip phone. The prototype folds in half and works like the aforementioned phones by competitors. The other prototype looks somewhat similar to the Galaxy Fold 2 or the Microsoft Surface Dup where two screens are held together by a hinge. It isn’t clear which of the two models might end up being the final product as it is unsure whether Apple is working on two separate foldable models. It could be possible that Apple is simply testing out both form factors as of now before ironing out the final design of a foldable iPhone. © Front Page Tech Apple recently filed a patent that is quite different from every other foldable smartphone currently available in the market. In fact, it could change the foldable smartphone altogether if Apple follows through with its recent patent filing. The filing shows a foldable device that can fold inward like the Galaxy Z Flip and outward like the Huawei Mate Xs. It is worthy to point out that the concept is just a patent right now and may not become a commercially viable product anytime soon. Apple fans have been waiting for a foldable phone in response to Samsung, Huawei, and Motorola for a while, however, it seems like the foldable iPhone will not launch until 2022 at the earliest. Supply chain leaks are quite common and it does not suggest anything final from Apple. The leak just points at the fact that Apple is testing foldable devices, however, it might be a while until we see a final product by the Cupertino giant. © iOS Beta News We should hopefully know more in the coming months if Apple is indeed serious about foldable phones. It could be possible Apple might go with either of the two designs mentioned or might go with a different strategy altogether. 15. Here’s looking back at business tycoon Ratan Tata’s most inspiring speech from the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2015’s Induction and Awards Gala Ceremony. The industrialist shared his journey of transforming India into a mobile economy - one that created history. Ratan Tata is one of the country’s most-loved and admired personalities for a reason. Not only does he possess remarkable business foresight, but he is also a visionary leader and generous philanthropist who is in fact a great human being whose persona hasn’t been corrupted by fame or success. "I don't believe in taking the right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right,” Tata — born 1937, as the great-grandson of Jamsetji Tata (JRD Tata), who founded the Tata group — said. “The greatest pleasure I’ve had is trying to do something that everybody said could not be done. I decided that India could produce its own cars. Everybody, my friends who oversee in the automobile business said this couldn’t be done, and that we would have to go through collaboration to get to know how to produce technology. But, we undertook to produce this car. It was called the Indica, and we produced it in India, totally of Indian content,” the industrialist said. “As we got close to pulling it in the markets, my friends in India, somewhat distanced themselves from me, otherwise known as distancing yourself from failure.” He added, “When the car came out, I suddenly felt that I didn’t have a friend in the world, and all the warnings that people had given me were probably going to come true. But the car did come out and earned 20 per cent of the market share and we showed that we could do something. It transformed the Indian economy to a mobile economy.” For the unversed, Ratan Tata is the recipient of two of the highest civilian awards — Padma Vibhushan (2008) and Padma Bhushan (2000), and is most respected, loved, and celebrated in India for his business ethics and philanthropy. Tata is a carrier of a great legacy and one of the most prominent faces when it comes to pathbreaking Indian industrialists. And the 82-year-old business tycoon continues to lead his life by never cutting corners when it comes to upholding ideals and inspiring people from across the globe. There's no denying the fact that there is so much for us to learn from his inspiring life! View the full article
