  1. Suniel Shetty perhaps has the best 'redemption story' in Bollywood, when it comes to fashion and grooming. From being the ever-scruffy and sweaty distressed hero with anger issues wearing torn and tattered clothes to the suave, sophisticated aesthetic he now proudly flaunts, his has been a journey worth noticing. Of the many, many things that contributed to his swanky new avatar now, his beard probably is the most important entity. His thick, shapely salt-n-pepper face mane is as alluring as it is intimidating, and it just works for his classy-dad aesthetic in a way that's extremely impressive. Here are 10 pictures which prove that Suniel Shetty has the best beard in Bollywood right now. 1. 'Yoga se hi hoga' but that beard tho! 2. That time of the year is finally here. The Grammys Red Carpet remains the most anticipated event when it comes to Hollywood fashion. The Grammys have been giving us some of the most iconic fashion moments over the years. This year, they definitely did rise up to the expectations and didn't disappoint us. With all the sizzling controversies involving Ariana Grande, Drake and Cardi B and her pianist stealing the whole show, the 2019 Grammys is already on its way to becoming the most talked about event of the year. When it comes to fashion, the Grammys red carpet serves more looks than the Oscars because of its younger audience and nominees. Being fashion icons and believing in expression through dressing, pop artists tend to experiment with fashion more which equals to more drama on the red carpet. The men of the entertainment business don't shy away from a good head turning look either. Have a look at the 12 quirkiest looks form the Grammys 2019 Red Carpet that turned heads for all the right reasons: 1. Ricky Rebel © Getty Images Let's talk about the one sparking the most talks, shall we? Singer Ricky Rebel walked down the red carpet in a reversible pro-Trump jacket from designer Andre Soriano. The jacket had 'Keep America Great' text which a play on Donald Trump's political slogan on one side and 'Trump 2020' on the other. The outfit has already sparked tons of negative talk about its political statement and about the upcoming US elections next year. 2. Leon Bridges © Getty Images A name in soul music, Leon Bridges sported a custom made 2-piece set by designer Emily Bode. The mustard-coloured corduroy set was covered in little drawings that referenced his home state of Texas and his own music as well. That's one hell of a customization, we say! 3. Post Malone © Getty Images If there's one thing to know about Post Malone, he loves his flashy suits. They are a statement on their own and quirky as hell. This year was no less, as the singer sported a salmon coloured bedazzled suit covered with silver star embellishments, which he topped off with matching pink cowboy boots. This look was put together by costume designer Catherine Hahn, who is one of the artist's favourite designers. Pink is the new black, we see! 4. Kyle Trewartha and Michael Trewartha © Getty Images Like the Fiji water girl at the Oscars, the twins with the silver hair were the Grammy mystery people this year. The twins who are Kyle Trewartha and Michael Trewartha dazzled the red carpet in designer wear which was perfectly layered and stormy weather ready. Yes, they look like The Chainsmokers. No, they're not them. The ice twins definitely do have style, though. 5. Ben Harper © Getty Images If there's one way to ditch the boring black tie and go full ham, Ben Harper should be your guide. Ben Harper did enter full bedazzle mode in a jacket showing off yellow sequined paisley motifs worn with a broad-brim hat. The Nike basketball shoes add an extra edge to the outfit. Very country, yet very sporty. An interesting combination. 6. Young Thug © Getty Images If there's one way to stand out, it has to be to get in with the fluorescent trend. And since bright neon colours always make their mark in the athleisure world, it has to have an active presence on the red carpet too, right? Young Thug stood out from the crowd in a fluorescent lime green hoodie paired with a red cropped leather jacket. The rapper paired it with beige pants and red sneakers for the too-cool-to-care look and we lowkey dig it. 7. Swae Lee © Getty Images Popular singer Swae Lee left his mark on the red carpet with his out of the box fashion choice for this year's Grammys. Seen in a laced see-through shirt paired with studded M.X By Maxine Simoens pants and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Swae stole the show with his peek-a-boo outfit! 8. Jaden Smith © Getty Images Jaden Smith always manages to make heads turn at every red carpet ever. His unapologetic street-inspired style is pretty much what is expected of him. He didn't disappoint this time around with a black hoodie, a multi-coloured graphic jacket and chain detailing all over his upper and lower body. No one can pull off a Jaden Smith exclusive better than Jaden himself! 9. Fantastic Negrito © Getty Images The American singer wore a customized red suit with colourful swatches of fabric making up the pockets. A silver necklace with two fish hung from his neck which he mentions used to be a belt buckle. His whole outfit was apparently inspired by 'upcycling', which is using discarded material to design something that is of a higher quality than the original. 10. Kane Brown © Getty Images Singer Kane Brown doesn't shy away from some print. Seen sporting a Versace black and gold printed shirt with a Versace blazer with the same print on the inner lining as well. Donning daring prints sure seems like a bold fashion statement but Kane wears them like a champion! 11. Anthony Kiedis, Chad Smith and Flea © Getty Images Members of the popular rock band 'Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis, Chad Smith, and Flea turned up at the red carpet and stole a lot of attention for their attire. The perfect mix of eccentric, bold and daring, their outfits were downright rocking. With Anthony's all floral suit, Chad's floral shirt and multi-coloured sneakers to Flea's jacquard pants and hat, they did bring the heat with them. 12. Hector Buitrago and Andrea Echeverri © Getty Images Colombian rock band Aterciopelados members Hector Buitrago and Andrea Echeverri came dressed as the Grammy award itself. Hector's outfit being a spin on an album cover itself with gold star motifs all over was interesting while Andrea's outfit was actually him being a real-life version of a Grammy award complete with a headgear and buttons representing the iconic gramophone shape was an eye-catcher. The award or rather Andrea himself was addressed to their band Aterciopelados indicating that they were expecting a definite win. These few were amongst the many others who made an appearance at the Grammy Awards 2019 and gave fashion a new definition. You have our attention, Hollywood!
  3. It's really cold right now, a little too cold for February, all thanks to the heavy rains and hailstorm. But, it's still not something people living in North India can't handle. After all, isn't Delhi famous for getting to experience all the seasons? Yep, and that's one of the points brought up in the age-old Mumbai vs Delhi debate, that will honestly never die down. Recently, Mumbai has also been experiencing chilly winds, with a lot of people considering yesterday to be the coldest day of the season. 4. Ever since the revolution of computer games, it has been an expensive activity or hobby to maintain. Whether you play on the PC or consoles, buying a proper machine and then games have always been pretty expensive. Now, we're witnessing a major revolution in the world of gaming with the addition of mobile phones as a platform. Sure, mobile games have existed for almost decades, but the industry is progressing to a whole new level. Thanks to the improvement in mobile OS architecture and hardware, a tiny mobile phone is capable of playing a 2GB Battle Royale game. PUBG, Fortnite, Asphalt etc. are just starting points and we're already seeing massive new titles coming soon. If you're looking for a new phone for gaming, we've compiled a list of top phones for gaming, available in India: 1. OnePlus 6T © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla This is pretty much a perfect Android offering, thanks to best-in-class hardware and well-polished software experience. The phone comes shipped with OxygenOS and is among the most stable skins out there. You won't have to cut corners anywhere with this device, thanks to its well-balanced spec sheet. The phone has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication. Honor View 20 © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The phone was launched just a few weeks back in India and has managed to come with its own unique set of 2019ish features. The build quality is exceedingly premium and the front has a punch-hole camera, delivering better screen-to-body ratio. The front has a 25-megapixel selfie shooter and these internals are backed by a 4000mAh battery. 4. Nokia 8.1 © BCCL This is the only phone on this list to ship with stock Android and is part of Google's Android One program, ensuring timely updates. It continues the legacy of Nokia branded phones and has a significantly premium design and strong build quality. The phone is powered by Qualcomm's latest midrange, yet highly capable Snapdragon 710 platform. The base variant comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The rear has a 12+13-megapixel dual camera setup and the front has a 20-megapixel lens for selfies. It comes with a modest 3500mAh battery but supports 18W fast charging. 5. Honor Play © BCCL It's been quite some time since the phone was launched, but it still manages to kick-ass thanks to a flagship processor. This was technically India's first gaming-centric phone and is equipped with Honor's GPU Turbo mode that intelligently optimizes processes to improve performance while gaming. The phone has a 6.3-inch display and is powered by a Kirin 970 processor. The base variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Backing these internals is a 3750mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. 6. iPhone XR © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla We've listed ultra-premium phones towards the end of this list and the iPhone is often regarded to be the best gaming phone one can buy. iOS has maintained an edge over Android for years in terms of game development, and thanks to Apple's insanely fast processor, the gap widens even further. The iPhone XR has a 6.1-inch display and is powered by an A12 processor. The chipset has a hexa-core dedicated GPU and graphics have never been smoother. Even a Twinview dock is separately available and the phone has an internal 4000mAh battery.
  5. Anyone who's ordered the wrong cocktail knows the pain of having to fake a smile while pretending to love the drink. With experience comes wisdom. Or sometimes, the eagerness to know how not to fall back into that trap. It's International Scotch Day today and nobody deserves a drink they don't like. Scroll away to turn into a pro at selecting the best Scotch whisky for yourself. Step 1: Ponder Look around. Read. Ask the regulars and the ones whose choices you've liked in the past. Do not hit the shop right away. But eventually, do. Collect all your browsing wisdom and clock it in your cart. What do we do next? © Ernest Reid - Brand Ambassador, Dewar's India Step 2: Get Nosy While we don't advise it all the time, this is just the moment to do it. Breathe the aroma in from the rim. But don't travel too far with the scent, come back, there's more to find out. Identify the flavours and if you like them, dive deeper. Step 3: Challenge Science, Chew it Did you go 'Aye really?' Yeah, you read that right. Take a sip and chew the liquid. It will release the alcohol and bring out all the flavour and smoothness that the Scotch has to offer. Pro tip: double aged will always be smoother. © Ernest Reid - Brand Ambassador, Dewar's India Step 4: Like It Bruv? If you like it, pick it. Simple. You might just be on the verge of entering the devotional Scotch lovers' cult. Step 5: There's A Lot In The Name, Sorry Shakespeare Unlike the bard's belief, there's a lot in a Scotch's name. The flavours, the origin, the ageing can all be gauged from the name and label. Step 6: How Much Alcohol Can You Take? Duh…. Uh!? If it's all for yourself, caution! But if you plan on sharing it with the gang, get cautious about not leaving a guest without a drink. Slàinte! Now that you are well-versed in picking the perfect Scotch whisky, you totally deserve a Dewar's Highball. Better yet, two! #DoubleIsBetter.
  6. 'Apex Legends' is the latest and hottest Battle Royale game that is available to play for free on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was quite an unexpected release by Electronic Arts, however, the game has found success in a matter of days. Just three days after its launch, the game has managed to rake in 10 million players. The biggest game in the Battle Royale genre Fortnite was able to achieve the same milestone in two weeks. © Electronic Arts “We knew it would be risky to take the franchise in this direction, to go free to play, and do a surprise launch,” Respawn CEO Vince Zampella wrote in a blog post. “But we fell in love with Apex Legends and wanted, needed, other people to play it, too.” In addition to the overall player count, the developer also says that Apex has already reached 1 million concurrent players. © Electronic Arts The game is set in the Titanfall universe that has fluid and snappy controls and features some of the most popular features from different genres. It essentially has gunplay like 'Call of Duty' and has characters with special powers that you may be familiar with from Overwatch. It's this unique approach to the Battle Royale genre that made the game successful. © Electronic Arts Currently, you can download Apex Legends via EA Origins on PC and via respective online stores on consoles. Apex Legends is a completely free-to-play game with microtransactions that are only applicable to cosmetics. The microtransactions in 'Apex Legend' does not affect the in-game footage and work exactly as it does on 'Fortnite'.
  7. Who said social initiatives and a good round of tipples cannot go hand-in-hand? Social initiatives work to make our surroundings better, whereas booze makes everything...erm...better! Period. Imagine all the possibilities we could explore if these two aspects came together and the end result was a win-win situation for us all? That would be a living dream and seems like someone's already decided to look into this and turn it into reality! A beach bar in Goa has come up with the perfect plan to get people to take care of the busy beaches which are corrupted by the callousness of the umpteen visitors, who stop by on a daily basis and leave the place littered. © Instagram According to a report by The Weather Channel India, 'Waste Bar' offers free beer in exchange for the waste collected from the beaches. The aim is to make people aware and accountable for their surroundings. The campaign was started by Noreen van Holstein in collaboration with Drishti Marine, a private beach management agency that also works with Goa tourism to provide damage control to the situation. The initiative was kick-started on 30th January at the Zanzibar shack located in the Baga village. Apart from all the good you do to the environment by participating in this initiative, it also allows you to get around the Rs. 2,000 drinking fine by collecting 10 beer bottle caps or 20 cigarette butts or 5 plastic straws. This waste-bar in Goa is a hang out of sorts, where one can exchange segregated garbage for a free beer. Read more: https://t.co/cFShDuCjyJ ð¸IANS pic.twitter.com/mo2myMXGr9 — The Weather Channel India (@weatherindia) February 4, 2019 Holstein also said that the concept of the waste bar isn't a new one. Such initiatives had already been tried and tested in the Netherlands, and the world has picked up on the idea over the years. She said, “People come to Goa for two things: beach and the bar. So let's give them what they come for – free drinks in exchange for garbage that they collect. This ensures that they become conscious of the waste that is there on the beach and that trash actually has value! They will leave Goa with a positive feeling and a clean beach.” Other beaches around Goa are also set to pick up the concept in the upcoming months, but Twitter already has a lot of good stuff to say about it. This idea has great potential. Should be applied beyond beaches and beyond Goa. @MCGM_BMC — Niks29 (@Niks292) February 4, 2019 Now that's something India really needs to learn and should be proud of. #Goa — Avani Shah (@avani_16) February 4, 2019 Tks, waste-bar. Good luckð I truly hope that this exercise spreads message of cleanliness and hygiene among all the visitors in Goa. May all of us learn to become responsible & self-disciplined citizens. Keep beaches clean & prevent trash from going into the beach....ð#Goa — Vandana (@CharouRathore) February 4, 2019 We hope to see some great changes in Goa, courtesy the Waste Bar.
  8. The budget segment gets the maximum hits in India, and lately, brands have started focusing on it the most. But, the midrange segment still exists, and differentiates itself with premium offerings, at a not-flagship price. With the economy slowly picking up, the segment is bound to get even more popular. We've made a list of the top midrange phones you can buy right now. Considering multiple factors like performance, battery life, camera, and software, this list can cater to every type of user: 1. POCO F1: © MensXP / Shivam Vahia While all other midrange phones are marketed as "midrange", the F1 is actually a flagship. It has all the high-end feature one may ask for, at a significantly lower price. To start with, it is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with 6GB RAM in the base variant. The brand marketed the phone as the "master of speed", as it also includes liquid cooling. It runs on POCO launcher out of the box and has a 12+5-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear. The overall picture quality is insanely good and often on par with flagships like the Note 8. 2. Nokia 8.1: © Sree Hari Carrying forward the legacy of Nokia 7 Plus, the Nokia 8.1 is a finely crafted product with the best-in-class design. The aluminium unibody makes it extremely sturdy and ergonomic to hold. It runs on the recently announced Snapdragon 710 platform and comes with 4GB RAM in the base variant. Just like all other Nokia branded phones, it is a part of the Android One program and runs on stock Android. Nokia has a consistent reputation for delivering software updates. On the rear is a 12+13-megapixel dual camera setup, while the front has a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. It has a modest 3500mAh battery that supports fast charging. 3. Vivo V11 Pro: © MensXP / Shivam Vahia This is the cheapest phone to house an in-display fingerprint scanner right now and is a solid offering with balanced specifications in all departments. It has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor, along with 6GB RAM. The back has a slightly reflective design that mimics a starry night. It runs on Funtouch OS and is heavily inspired by iOS. The back has a 12+5-megapixel dual camera, while the front has a 25-megapixel selfie shooter. Backing these internals is a 3400mAh battery that supports fast charging. 4. Samsung Galaxy A9: © YouTube This phone is built for photography enthusiasts. The first thing you'll notice are the four lenses on the back. The four rear sensors are: a 24-megapixel lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with a 2X optical zoom, an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra wide lens, and finally a 5-megapixel depth sensor. To start with, it has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display and is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset along with 6GB RAM. Obviously, the phone ships with Samsung's own “Samsung Experience” UI running atop. It is backed by a 3800mAh battery and supports adaptive fast charging. 5. OPPO R17: © Hardware Zone The phone has a stunning gradient back and a water-drop notch on the front. It has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 670 processor, along with 8GB RAM. It also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner for quick authentication. The back has a 16+5-megapixel dual camera setup, while the front has a 25-megapixel selfie shooter. Backing these internals is a modest 3500mAh battery that supports VOOC Flash charging. 6. Honor Play: © BCCL The Honor Play was technically India's first gaming phone and is among the cheapest. It is powered by Huawei's high-end Kirin 970 processor, along with 4GB RAM in the base variant. The phone also gets Honor's GPU Turbo technology, that systematically overclocks the processor and optimizes performance. The design is basic and the brand has put in more effort on the inside. The rear has a 16+2-megapixel dual camera setup, while the front has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Backing these internals is a 3750mAh battery that supports 18W quick charging.
  9. Smartphone companies have been trying to innovate ever since Apple changed the game with the iPhone X and XS notch. Companies have been trying to incorporate the same or a smaller notch into their smartphones to make the experience less intrusive. Some smartphones like the Vivo Nex have a pop-up selfie camera while the OnePlus 6T has a water drop notch. Samsung introduced a punch-hole selfie camera on one of its smartphones and Honor took the next step by placing it on the top-left corner. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla While the punch-hole screen may be the star attraction here, the smartphone also packs a punch when it comes to performance. Considering the price, the Honor View 20 has hit the ball out of the park with what all it can do. It's the first major smartphone launch of 2019 in India and what a start it has been. We've been using the Honor View 20 for almost three weeks as our daily device and here's what we think about the smartphone: Design and Display The Honor View 20 has a 6.4-inch punch-punch-hole Full HD+ LCD display and has a wider aspect ratio than other smartphones of the same size. The display has a resolution of (2,310 x 1,080 pixels) and has an aspect ratio of 19:25.9 © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The LCD screen is quite impressive given that it's the nearest competitor being the OnePlus 6T features an OLED panel. The only time we faced an issue with the display was when we tried to use it directly under the sun. That's an annoying problem with LCDs in general which is why some people prefer an OLED panel. Majority of the time, the display had great colour representation, viewing angels were strong and have a brightness level of 370 nits. The front-facing camera on the Honor View 20 is also not intrusive when it comes to the viewing experience. It took us a day or two to get used to the punch-hole camera as we often thought there was a smudge on the screen. This was simply because it was the first device we used with a camera setup like this. In time, we got used to the punch-hole camera display and made it harder to switch back to a smartphone with a notch. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In terms of design, the Honor View 20 is by far our favourite device by the Chinese company. It has a bright blue glass back phone that also as the letter “V” etched in the design. In fact, the V-Shaped pattern at the rear can catch the light and give a unique look from different angles. We love the bold blue colour as it is eye-catching and looks distinct from other smartphones. Build quality of the smartphone is also quite good as it has an aluminium frame with a premium finish. It has a 3.5mm jack (yay!) And a super fast fingerprint scanner at the back. Performance and Specifications The Honor View 20 is packed with quite a few components that make it Huawei Mate 20 Pro's younger brother. It is powered by the same Kirin 980 chipset (octa-core: 2x 2.6GHz, 2x 1.92GHz, 4x 1.8GHz) and is coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. We got the 6GB/128 GB variant for review and it still managed to perform like a beast. The Kirin 980 chipset has primary and secondary cores that perform different tasks. These cores are complemented by 'mid' cores that help in conserving battery life and balance the workload. During our tests, the Honor View 20 scored 9588 in the multi-core test and 3308 single-core score test, respectively. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla That's even faster than the McLaren edition of the OnePlus 6T that has 10GB of RAM. It proves that RAM is not the only factor that contributes towards the speed of a smartphone —a common misconception in India. In terms of security, the Honor View 20 has a fingerprint scanner at the back that works blazingly fast and also has facial recognition. It works in a very rudimentary manner as it uses a punch-hole camera for scanning. Since it does not use has IR tracing, the Facial recognition feature is not as accurate as the Mate 20 Pro. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla We used the Honor View 20 to play games like PUBG, Command & Conquer Rivals and Asphalt and faced no issues in regards to gaming performance. We didn't experience any frame rate drops, connectivity or over-heating issues. In fact, we prefer using the Honor View 20 for our gaming needs over any other smartphone right now. That's simply because the punch-hole display provides more immersive experience. As for battery life, the Honor View 20 has a 4,000 mAh battery that easily manages to last more than a full day on moderate use. While gaming, the battery life would drop down to 16 hours which is quite impressive in our opinion. It is bundled with a 5V fast-charger which is fast enough to phone going in under an hour. It's not as fast as OnePlus' warp charge, but it's still fast enough to get regular top-ups. Camera © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Honor View 20 turns it up a notch in the camera department as well since it has a 48-megapixel snapper paired with a large sensor and an extremely quick f/1.8 aperture. It also has a TOF 3D stereo camera. It's the only smartphone in India that has resolution of that scale and the second smartphone in the world to do so. Sony's new IMX586 sensor is truly a beast and it often takes detailed and sharp images. Honor has also included an AI feature called “AI Ultra Clarity” which we are yet to test when Honor releases the update for Indian handsets. If you want a reference point, the View 20 outmatches the OnePlus 6T by a mile. Even the 25-MP selfie camera does a good job; however, we found some images to be a bit over-exposed and inaccurate with the bokeh effect. Here are some camera samples for your reference: View this post on Instagram Images shot using the #HonorView20. #smartphones #technology #technews A post shared by Akshay Bhalla (@editorinchief) on Jan 28, 2019 at 6:00am PST The Final Say The View 20 is by far the most powerful and beautiful smartphones ever made by Honor. It's the jack of all trades that can do everything a midrange flagship is supposed to do. It beats the OnePlus 6T in performance and photography and the punch-hole screen is a dream to use. It includes a headphone jack which is always a plus but lacks any form of water resistance. If you are looking for a smartphone that looks awesome but can also perform like a dream, the Honor View 20 is your purchase of the year.

  12. Bhai is back! Actually, about six of him are back, because that's kind of what the teaser of the much-awaited movie 'Bharat' is suggesting. Salman Khan, obviously, has the monopoly over Eid movie releases and while he missed the mark last time when his business just remained his business and none of our business, it looks like he's back to redeem himself. Or not, because we all know even if this is a disaster like 'Race 3', it will still earn hundreds of crores for sure. Coming back to the teaser, it seems like the movie will follow his character Bharat from different stages of his life with vastly different professions, everything from a Navy officer and then an ageing boxer. While Sallu Bhai's fans were busy raving about the teaser, everyone else got to work on the obvious, which is turning the teaser into memes. From all of Salman's different looks to the surname dialogue, everything was perfect meme material and people on Twitter came through, of course. The universal license plate? 13. I'll start my story with a small poem on my fitness journey. From losing weight being the only goal, To the time when goals became limitless. From getting fit being a necessity, To getting fit being the choice. From the time that every little change made me happy, To the time that every change became little. From painful heavy workouts, To how those workouts became a warmup! Less Self Esteem In College It all started in the second semester of my College, where my overweight body used to haunt my confidence every single day. Apparently, after getting teased by a lot of so-called friends, one day, I finally decided to join the gym in my hostel. For 1st and 2nd year students, the gym remained open only in the morning slot, which was from 5:30 am to 8:30 am. Waking up early morning and getting ready for the gym was the most difficult challenge of my life at that time. For that, I used to get up at 5 am in the morning and slogged myself to the gym. This slogging to the gym continued for a month but surprisingly, this habit resulted in the best change in my life. When I got hold of my mornings, my half job was done. Poor Cardio Life Initially, I was guided as cardio being the only way to lose weight. Without any further instructions, I slogged on the treadmill continuously for countless hours. This definitely made me thinner, but I also started to look weak. This was never what I wanted. Later, after watching some YouTube videos and following some great fitness industry influencers, I got aware of the importance of resistance/weight training in preserving muscle and losing weight simultaneously! Turning Point My discovery of weight training as being the catalyst to preserve muscles turned out to be the turning point of my journey. Without any further delay, I started weight training. However, my schedule was not optimal. I tried the following workout splits: 1. Mix workouts 2. Single body part a day 3. Crazy pump workouts 4. Lightweight, high repetition work Real Progress However, the real progress was evident when I started lifting heavy weights with proper form. Squats and Deadlifts were the exercises which made me strong and increased my strength. With proper progression scheme, I was able to lift 200 kg of weight on Deadlift. My Squat strength also rose quickly and I was able to lift 150 kg on them. The changes which I made to my Training Program were majorly shifting from training a muscle once per week to twice a week. Supplements Used As I wasn't getting a lot of protein in my diet, I had to include supplements like Protein Powder and a Pre-workout one. Supplements don't mean anything unless and until you aren't ready to put in hard work and commitment towards the goal. My Final Lesson & Outcome With the help of proper nutrition support, training guidance and sleep, I was able to reach my goal of losing fat and getting muscular and in 3 years. I lost 34 kgs and got down to 76 kgs from 110kgs. People will always be there trying to bring you down and break you, but in the end, all that matters is how much you are ready to put in for yourself.
  14. Whether you are building a new gaming PC or just looking to upgrade, you will eventually face the same roadblock as I did- 'what keyboard should I buy?' Gaming keyboards are profusely different from keyboards you use in your office, school or college. You will first want to get yourself a mechanical keyboard because membrane decks are a thing of the past. Mechanical switches are the go-to preference for gamers and we're even seeing some awesome new technologies being incorporated. Some have textures right on top for a better grip that some reduce actuation delay. The design of a keyboard is also another essential factor when it comes to buying a top class gaming keyboard. Whether you want a keyboard that offers super quiet switches with no tactile feedback or a mechanical switch that is heavy and has that accentuated clicks sound. You also want some sort of RGB elements with backlit switches. Keep in mind this list has the top-of-the-line gaming keyboards and doesn't feature budget-friendly keyboards. We'll be doing another feature on that real soon. So here's our full list of the top gaming keyboards you can buy in India right now: 1. 17. My fitness journey started in April 2013. I remember the first and foremost challenge was convincing my mom. You know how Indian parents are - “You are too young to join a gym. Turn 18 first.” I literally had to beg for it. But this endeavor only lasted about 5 months, as I had to quit the gym for 'board exams'. I was an active kid, who loved playing football and basketball. However, I was chubby and in pursuit of excelling the exams, my health took a toll. I gained 14 Kg during the boards and my eating habits went from not so healthy to terrible. Physics, Chemistry and 5 McDonald burgers became my constant companion. As soon as the board exams ended, I re-joined a gym and embraced the grind. After working out for several months, I could not see much change in my physique. The trainers would simply tell me one thing- “dabba nahi lega toh body nahi banegi”. I tried to find a good trainer in many gyms but found no help. After 2 years I finally decided to buy a supplement stack from my trainer. One tub of whey protein, a box of BCAA & fat burners! To your surprise, nothing magical happened. I was frustrated but this was also a blessing in disguise. I began educating myself about training and nutrition from the internet. I realized my biggest mistakes were- training every muscle only once per week. P.S- As a natural, you should train them 2-3 times week. Next, I was unnecessarily trying to gulp boiled chicken, potatoes and daal, whereas all my body and yours as well, is concerned with nutrition, not how the food is cooked. Once I began tracking my macronutrients, my physique began changing drastically. I followed Jim Stoppani's training plan and got leaner. But I was not satisfied with mere aesthetics; I wanted to get strong, really strong. For this Yash Sharma was a very useful resource. And once I learned about progressive overload, I was able to take my strength and physique to a whole new level. I have been natural throughout so far. I have taken plenty of different supplements like L carnitine, Creatine, Whey Protein, pre-workout, and fat burners, but have never taken anabolic steroids. I believe in prioritizing the health inside more than the looks outside. It has been over 6 years since I began this journey of becoming the best version of myself. And believe me, it was not linear. I was misguided, got injured and had multiple plateaus, but every time I felt like quitting I would think “Just one more day”. And now when I look back, it seems I have made some progress. I currently train 7 days a week with a combination of bodybuilding, powerlifting, and calisthenic workouts. I am lean, strong and agile. My name is Sidhant Rai Sikand, and this is my story!
  18. There was a time when Public Display of Affection (PDA) was frowned upon and lovers on the streets or at a public place were asked to go 'get a room' instead. But welcome to the growing gene-pool of adventure seekers and love tolerant people around, PDA is very much back in action and everyone wants to be a part of it. PDA officially means showing your affection publicly towards the person you're involved with. Could be your spouse, girlfriend or a date you're on. Snogging their world off, while you're in a crowd definitely qualifies for PDA and up until recently, it wasn't so welcoming in the society. © Twitter What changed though? Our most probable guess is the celebrity couple hangover that influences the general public threefold. Off late, we've been seeing various celebrity couples holding hands, hugging each other or proclaiming their love for one another in public and this trend is becoming more popular by the day. Which makes us wonder, what is actually wrong with displaying a bit of affection before people? It's certainly better than displaying any amount of violence, or public display of arrogance or even contempt for that matter, between couples who're out in public. So, if we love instead of all that negativity, it's always easier to digest. © Pinterest So, just in case you're a brand new couple, or an old one or just out on a date and can't keep your hands off each other or want to try some PDA, maybe you can keep these basic PDA- guidelines in mind! (1) Don't Get All Touchy-Feely If You're With A Third Person If you're hanging out with someone who's third-wheeling you, then maybe you don't have to drive that point home by being all over your girlfriend. Instead, make an effort with the third friend who's come out with a couple and make him or her feel as much at home as you possibly can, by not displaying too much affection in front of them. © Pinterest (2) Avoid PDA In Front Of Kids Little ones watching you going nuts over each other, literally, is hell raising! I mean, I'm sure the kids probably understand what you're up to, but why do you have to put them through the torture of asking their parents why your hand was up her dress? Maybe a peck or a hug works but if you're surrounded by kids, definitely find a safer space for the two of you to do whatever you want to. © Pinterest (3) Not 'Handy' In The Middle Of The Dance floor While I understand the dance floor can be an intimate space to show love for one another, it's also space for people to show off their moves. So, if you're trying to climb on top of each other while dancing and making a show out of it, do it at your own peril and, of course, discretion! © Getty Images (4) Definitely Avoid Straddling Straddling is sitting with one leg on either side and if it's not a motorcycle, you're straddling on a person. But the thing is, public straddling is a bit over-the-top unless, of course, you're at a strip club or behind closed doors. So, if your girlfriend straddles you in public, maybe it's time to make sure to tell her the rules have changed a bit! © Pinterest (5) Don't Cause An Inconvenience Even if you find a decent place to display a copious amount of PDA, make sure it's not causing any form of an inconvenience to people around you. It could be inside a public loo, where you've bolted the door for minutes and are busy making out, or it could be at a place where you're blocking a path and are too busy to realise people are having an issue passing by and are too uncomfortable to tell you to move! Whatever it is, make sure you chose the space effectively and display affection as suited for the place. © Pinterest Yes, PDA can be quite tricky to pull off, mostly because it's a spontaneous decision and not planned. You can get carried away in a moment and carry forth showing a lot of affection towards your lover, but it's up to you to decide how much public display of affection is too much affection, at the end of the day! Trust me, even celebs know their limit and while I know it's very important to show as much love as you can towards someone you're fond of, it's also important to keep things easy going for the rest of the lot, around you!
  19. Getting swipe rights is certainly not that easy, and it's no child's play either to get matches on any dating app. While men have bugged their female best friends for advice, it's important to follow styling tips as well, that make your picture stand out from the crowd. It's actually not that hard. Look at Vicky Kaushal or Kartik Aaryan, their fan following will tell you that if they were on a dating app, they would definitely get the most right swipes. But here's the thing, these actors don't magically look that great. A lot of handwork goes into planning their looks and pictures. But if you can take away some tips simply by observing, that also helps a lot. Firstly, before we start, please don't be naked in your profile picture. We mean, we're obviously assuming you're sensible enough to not upload your junk which will definitely get you reported, but pictures in your boxers/underwear, pictures, where the zip of your jeans is open, pictures with hand on your junk, pictures of you in a vest or without a vest are a big no. I'm sure you're proud of these pictures and you should be. We're all for body positivity. Think of it this way: your first impression on the dating app simply can't be your naked self. We're sure you can do better than that. We believe in you. Instead, put your best foot forward with photos where you look so attractive that girls can't resist swiping right. Learn from these hot men. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Arjun Kapoor (@arjunkapoor) on Dec 27, 2018 at 4:09am PST 1. There is so much happening in this picture. We love the whole intense-but-casual look on Arjun Kapoor's face. The beanie gets the extra points. The picture has a mysterious vibe to it. It's the kind of picture girls would swipe right to discover what the mystery guy is like in person. If you still don't get it, look at Kartik Aaryan's t-shirt. Women love guys who respect women for obvious reasons. A guy who knows respecting a woman does not harm him in any way, checks the box instantly. Here's an adorable shot of Aditya Roy Kapur that is simply a no-brainer swipe right picture. You don't necessarily have to look straight at the camera to look desirable. A side shot or a candid sometimes trumps generic profile pictures. These shots give a glimpse to girls the kind of person you might be when they meet you in person, which is more than what they see in other profiles. Let the women know that you can give them competition when it comes to style. Women always appreciate that. If you feel strongly about a certain movie and have props that express your love for it, it's time to get creative with your pictures. Find ways to include your passion in your profile pictures, let the picture speak for itself instead of words. A woman who feels the same way about the movie will make it a point to message you first! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on Feb 24, 2018 at 5:21am PST 6. If you have glasses that suit you really well and you look nerdy in them, but in a good way, don't hide them! Click photos with your glasses on that stand out from the crowd and instantly grab the attention of women who are swiping right. They won't miss you, we promise. So, if you're a person who knows how to keep your corporate game on point, don't let this tiny detail amiss from your profile picture. In the end you'll be grateful you followed these, because I'm sure you'll be saying:
  20. I began my fitness journey from the very start of January 2017, when I decided to finally be stubborn and strong-willed about my New Year resolution of becoming a fitter version of myself. Set A Goal, Be It Whatever Actually, truth be told, it was not initially about fitness but it was more about trying to look better and improve my appearance and the goals were in all honesty, quite cosmetically-inclined. I had always wanted to have a 6-pack as a kid and the desire to get it was on my bucket list. I wondered if an ordinary person like me could ever achieve the same. So, that was my motivation, to at least try and achieve a physique that Instagram fitness models have. I did not have any major health issues as such, but I would admit that I did fall prey to body image issues about the way I would look. Most people are not entirely proud of the way they look and given a chance would always want to get rid of their pot-bellies, they would like to get rid of their double-chin, and their paunch, and the list is endless and I sadly too was one of these people. Enough Of Lethargy There was always this sense of weakness that existed; the unavoidable consequence of the inactive life that I led. I could barely run a flight of stairs without gasping for air uncontrollably and I barely had the endurance and willingness to even walk short distances. Work, Stress And Poor Eating Even while working as an auditor, an occupation which involved a lot of non-stop travelling, I would think it would be fair to describe my lifestyle as sedentary, as almost 15 hours of my day was spent sitting on a chair. My poor eating habits were quite disorderly as well. I would binge on anything I would see. This food would basically comprise of junk, ranging from the unhealthiest road-side noodles to oily deep-fried samosas and puris with aloo sabji and of course, the entire index of junk food. Steering Things Around So I decided to follow my brother, who is a highly sought-after fitness coach in Kolkata. What set him apart from most trainers in our area was how he focused on the scientific aspect of entire process instead of just simply following a rigid rule of thumb approach. His methodology was remarkably different. It was incredibly important for me to focus on nutrition and that's exactly what he made me do. He made it very clear that no matter what I do inside the gym wouldn't matter if my eating habits weren't fixed. Here is where I learned the concept of energy balance and ensured that there was no extreme method that was resorted to in order to reach my goals. The Basics Of Nutrition To lose weight, one has to put their bodies in a prolonged calorie deficit; it is where you decide to willingly put your body in a state where it expends more energy (as performing any kind of activity would involve) than its energy intake (food). So before talking about my training, it is to be made unreservedly clear that 90% of my focus and mental energy was invested in proper dieting. Workouts My workouts would take no longer than an hour to complete if done properly. It was a simple workout chart that allowed me to train two body parts a day for 6 days a week consistently, followed by a 10-minute cardio session after the weight training routine. Again, I would like to add, there was no strict diet chart that I was told to follow. I was simply asked to use an online calculator that allowed you to estimate what my daily calorie intake would be to maintain my weight and then decide to eat foods that would ensure I end up in a calorie deficit. Stop Demonizing Foods No food is an absolute no-no in my scientifically informed opinion. It is very irrational to demonize a certain food and say that this is healthy and that is not. It is okay to have whatever you want as long as you maintain a calorie deficit. Keep This In Mind A lot of people will tell you how it is impossible to achieve the physique that you want, but remember, I have faced that as well and as overly clichéd as this may end up sounding, you are capable of much more than you can imagine. You can have the dream physique of your life and you are the only one who can get you there.
  21. SUVs are built for the harsh unforgivable terrain, but they've transformed into much more than just off-roading. The uber rich love huge cars and these huge cars not only offer top-notch performance, but also the epitome of luxury. So, what happens when you make a well-crafted car and power it with a beast's heart? The SUV segment has been slowly picking up in India and sales have been steadily rising since the entry of domestic players in the last decade, even though, the luxury segment is a tiny minority. The SUV's bold design pattern remains the same, and it exacts a look of prominence and authority with its muscular profile. Land Rover says the SUV, which uses an 8-speed automatic transmission, can hit 96 kmph in 4.5 seconds and top out at 280 kmph. The base price is Rs 2.5 crore. 6. It has a starting price of Rs 2 crore and other features include 6-speed M Sports automatic transmission with aluminium pull-style paddles on the steering wheel.
  22. Barbell Shrugs is an exercise that is generally performed with either the back workout or shoulder workout. People who have well-built traps often swear by barbell shrugs to isolate trapezius muscles for best muscle activation. Let's get to know more about the exercise to help you maximize your trap gains and also find out what are the cautions to be kept in mind while performing this exercise and what are the best alternatives. How To Perform © Pinterest You can perform barbell shrug either in the squat rack or with a free barbell. To perform barbell squat with accurate technique, hang the barbell in front of your body and take the arm grip of shoulder width apart. Your elbows should be completely locked out so that you are not cheating the weight by using too much of your forearm strength. Now pull the loaded barbell upwards while squeezing your shoulders upwards. Keep the contraction for a moment and then slowly lower the weight. Muscle Engagement © Thinkstock Images Though a barbell shrug is performed for isolating the trapezius muscles, it also works simultaneously on your rhomboids as well. Trapezius muscles or as they are commonly known as traps is a muscle that runs down from the upper region of the spinal cord to the middle and the lower back. The role of this muscle is to draw the shoulder blades together and help you to pull them down. On the other hand, the rhomboids major and minor which are also activated by this exercise help your body to connect the shoulders with the spinal columns. Barbell shrugs also activate secondary muscles like biceps, serratus anterior, oblique and abs. Caution While Performing Shrugs © YouTube You will see a lot of guys ego-lifting while performing barbell shrugs. The reason behind this is that generally people don't know how to activate their traps and try to use their forearm strength to pull the weight. Some people rotate their shoulders front and back believing that they are activating their traps better. It won't be incorrect to say that our 'desi' gym trainers are to be blamed for that, as they seem to have their own way of activating traps muscle. Wrist should also be kept neutral to avoid any injuries as suggested by the guidelines of American Council on Exercise. Alternatives One of the alternatives to perform shrugs is to use dumbbell instead of barbell. Position your hands with a pair of dumbbells in the same way in front of your body like you hold the barbell while doing barbell shrugs. Keeping your elbows straightened out, lift your shoulders upwards towards your ears to feel the contraction in your traps. Another alternative to hit your traps from a different angle is to do a barbell shrugs from behind the back. To perform this movement you need to hold the barbell from behind with an overhand grip. You will have to flex your elbows slightly as while performing this movement the bar will be just above your glutes. Squeeze your shoulders upwards in the same way and activate your traps and rhomboids from a different angle. SRK even made an appearance on 'Bigg Boss' which was like making it official that the Khans were back together. Salman recently made an appearance in 'Zero' for a song. Well, all's well that ends well and now we want to call our 'bhai' for a jamming session of our own.

  25. Yo Yo Honey Singh is back with another song, yay! And, it's obviously a little sexist, but that's a given right? So, the song is called 'Makhna' and it's the top trending video on YouTube at the moment as you read this because, well it's Honey Singh's comeback track and we are aware of the popularity that he enjoys. It also became the fastest Indian track to get 2 million views, so it's a song everyone loved apparently. But, even though it won't affect the song's performance, as we can see, I still want to discuss some of the lyrics because they kind of fall into what one may call a 'problematic territory' and need to be called out. “Mein aur mere kalakar Sab baith ke kare chill Par main hoon womanizer Mujhe akele mein mat mill” Okay then, don't meet Honey Singh alone. Youtube “Silicon wali ladki ko mein, pakadta nahi Brown girls se mera, dil bharta nahi” Am I the only one who feels that this is just a lil problematic? “Tu hai patli si naari Par mera weight ho gaya thoda bhari” At least he made a dig at himself. Thanks Honey. Youtube “Teri life mein dena chahta hu main dakhal Meri ex se milti hai teri shakal Mere lambe sabar ka tu hai phal Oh yeah yeah lemme grab you girl” Umm, wow. That's all I want to say. Youtube But, the problem is that all of this doesn't even matter. The song can be totally problematic and it will still perform well, and we have a perfect example. Along with being the number one trending song, Makhna also has received almost 22 million views on its video since its release yesterday. That explains a lot about Honey and his fans who maybe love his production.
