Man Crashes His Ferrari 488 Spider To Save A Stray Dog's Life

Would you crash your car to save a stray dog?

Let us rephrase.

Would you crash a Rs 3.88 crore Ferrari to save a stray furry one's life?

Humanity precedes materialism and that is exactly what a 36-year-old man in a blue Ferrari 488 Spider showed the world earlier this week. At about 2pm in the afternoon, speeding through a turn at Aberdeen Reservoir Road in Hong Kong, the man spotted a stray dog in his way and didn't think twice before crashing into three sign posts on the pavement to save the dog's life. Thankfully, neither the dog nor the driver were injured.

Before you start thinking he was drunk, making a textbook excuse to be let off of the hook easy, we should tell you that according to a report in the South China Morning Post, the man was cleared of being under the influence. It was pure compassion that led him to save the stray's life. Undoubtedly an exemplary citizen, this Chinese man deserves a medal for this conscientious display.

Considering the Ferrari 488's worth at least 1000 kidneys, that was a very expensive swerve, but is it really worth more than life? We don't think so. Pictures from the crash show that the front of the car was totalled, which implies that the vehicle was on the go at a decently high speed. Well, you can't blame the man for extracting some driving pleasure out the 660hp automobile that jumps from 0-100 kmph in a little over three seconds.

Coincidentally, a local online car solutions platform, happened to be passing by the street at the time of the incident and the GoCar 2 not only watched the incident take place but also managed to take a video of it-- from cruise to crash. Making the most of being in the wrong place at the right time, camera at the ready, GoCar 2 uploaded the video to Facebook with a bit of a quirky background score, "Who let the dogs out".

Take a look at the video here:
