Apple Leak Suggest Change In Design

A new leak has just surfaced on the Interwebs that suggests that the next iPhone is not going to look entirely similar to the current generation. The leak comes from within Apple's own supply chain and it suggests that the Cupertino giant wants to fix the number one design flaw in the iPhone X.

Many users were not too fond of the infamous “Notch” even though it isn't as obtrusive as suggested by iPhone X haters. ET News (http://english.etnews.com/20180116200001) has come out with a report stating that industry insiders have revealed Apple is working with LG Innotek to reduce the size of the notch. The report adds that Apple will reduce the size by combining Face ID with the front-facing camera that would result in reducing the top bezel.

This may come as a very small change to some users however one needs to take into account that the current notch features an array of sensors to make Face ID an effective security system. It hosts a flood illuminator, an infrared camera and a dot projector that will be integrated to the front-facing camera.

LG Innotek also received $821 million in funding for their facilities last year and the company said: “This investment is for camera modules of mobile devices and businesses for new modules.” ET news further adds to the report that even though the notch will be a significant feature of more Apple products in 2018, the smaller notch will not appear on iPhones and other products until 2019.

To be honest, the notch on the iPhone X is not much of an issue as it doesn't interfere too much with the viewing experience, however, it is somewhat a major problem for some iPhone X users. It would be refreshing to see this improvement happen as soon as possible, but one can assume the design of 2018 iPhones is already final and may enter production soon.
