PM Modi Is Now A Character In Chacha Chaudhary Comics & People Are Calling It Propaganda

I know I have made this joke a million times already, but if you thought 'Avengers: Infinity War' was the biggest crossover ever, you need to think again. There's another comic related development that has easily beaten the biggest movie of the year.

I'm sure everyone remembers Chacha Chaudhary comics, they've been literally around for decades and were an integral part of our childhood. But why are we talking about them right now? Well, it's all because of the newest addition to the comic, a new character who is here to steal everyone's thunder.

And we all know only one person in India who can do that – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of course!

The Maharashtra Government, which is led by the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance, released a book titled 'Chacha Chaudhary and Narendra Modi', and I honestly don't know how I feel about it, and I'm not the only one.

According to the initial reaction, people aren't really into it. I wonder why. Doesn't PM Modi make everything better? We've all only had 'acche din' because of him.

As part of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the comic is supposed to be introduced in school libraries as separate reading material.

But, not everyone is a fan of this idea. What's the most important aspect of this legendary comic book? Chacha Chaudhary, obviously. But people feel like PM Modi's character is interfering with that. The comic basically just shows Chacha supporting the Central Government.

Is it just me or does the picture above seem a little weird?

Nationalist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule also raised an objection to the comic at a press conference. She said, “I am happy that through these books the message of cleanliness is given to the students, however, what was the need to use PM Modi's large pictures on these books?

It is unfortunate that the government is trying to promote itself using education as a means. Education should not be used for political gains, but the government is doing it by bringing marketing into the education,” she added.

Well, I don't have much else to say, except that this whole thing is a little unsettling.

Here's what people are saying on Twitter:

Dear #ChachaChaudhary comics team, PLEASE don't ruin my childhood memories! ðð¼ ðð¼ https://t.co/C3qfDdNV0Y

The book 'Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu with NaMo' is spreading Modi propaganda and this is not acceptable. The BJP is doing such false things to win elections. Nazists also did this in the Imperial Germany of 1930s.
Compare both!#ChachaChaudhary

From Chacha Nehru to Chacha Chaudhary, Modi covers all the Chachas #ChachaChaudhary

They just made Chacha Chaudhary a side actor in his own comics...what next? Remaking K3G with SRK in Johnny Lever's role? https://t.co/czyrwCB6NG
