After Allahabad & Faizabad, BJP MLA Demands Agra Be Renamed As Agravan Or Agrawal

What is with the Uttar Pradesh Government wanting to rename every place? Haven't we had enough of new names and the unending trolling over the new names? Apparently not.

Renaming is like a trend now and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Jagan Prasad Garg really wants to hop on that.

The BJP MLA from Agra saw UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath renaming Allahabad to Prayagraj and Faizabad to Ayodhya and probably thought to himself, 'I want some of that for my city'.

BJP MLA Wants Agra To Be Renamed Agravan Or Agrawal

So, he is now demanding Agra be renamed as Agra-van or Agra-wal. Honestly, to me, Agrawal just sounds another variation of Agarwal Sweets.

However, it's only us who think renaming is unnecessary because this guy is dead serious about it and has even written a letter to Yogi Adityanath to bring forward his demands.

He wrote, “The region was initially known as Agravan and finds such a mention in the Mahabharat. But in the course of time, the city was named as Akbarabad. Later, it became 'Agra', which has no specific meaning and thus its name should be revived to Agravan.”

He also addressed a press conference saying something similar, “Agra has no meaning. You check the name Agra anywhere, what relevance does it have? Earlier there used to be a lot of forests here. And people from the Agarwal community used to live here. So, the name should be Agra-van or Agra-wal.”

He also said, “I will meet the CM and seek the change of name of Agra to Agravan.”

Well, this is the world we live in now. Renaming cities is more important than actually doing something useful for the cities.

MLAs have now been renamed to name-changers.

I guess its time to CHANGE ROLE AND POWERS OF MLA/MPS from GOVERNANCE TO NAME CHANGERS

Hmm.

Why not!? We've already solved the issues that actually matter! Let's have fun naming and renaming things!
Let's elect more of such leaders!#agra#whyrenamepic.twitter.com/lC9PLX7kfL

Why not?

If Agra is indeed renamed as Agrawal then why not name Delhi as Kejriwal?

Exactly.

"Agra To Agarwal": BJP Leaders Want To Rename More Uttar Pradesh Cities - it wd be better if they spent time on improving these cities than renaming them - name change does not make them better https://t.co/vs9nP8U4fE

That's also a former name. I wonder why that won't be chosen for the renaming.

Call it Akbarabad - as Agra was the capital of the Mughal empire under Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjahan. #Agra
