Locker Key From Titanic Sells For $104000 At An Auction

A locker key from the Titanic was recently sold at an auction for $104,000. The key originally belonged to Sidney Sedunary, a 23 year old steward on the ship. He was one of the 1,500 victims that lost their life because of the Titanic tragedy caused by the ship hitting an iceberg and sinking on its maiden voyage from England to New York.

After the discovery of Sedunary’s body, the key, with a stamp of ‘Locker 14 F Deck’, was sent over to his pregnant widow.

Over the years artifacts from Titanic have fetched huge amounts at auctions. In 2013, a violin this is believed to have been playing while the ship was sinking was sold for more than 1 million pounds.

What do you think about this? Things belonging to Titanic are an important part of history but are they still worth that much?
