    “You don’t need to be a captain to be the leader.” This is what Virat Kohli said before the start of the West Indies series. 
    Kohli’s mature outlook towards leadership deserved all the praise but unfortunately some people had a problem with that as well. The former skipper was bashed heavily as people called him “egoistic” and accused him of undermining the role of the new captain Rohit Sharma.

    The kinds of hatred that he received after his comments went viral on social media clearly showed that not many people understood the true meaning of his words.

    All he meant was that he had moved on from the ODI captaincy and would continue to be a leader within the group and help the youngsters through his experience as he had been doing before. It didn’t matter if he was the captain of the side or not.

    People who misunderstood Kohli and described his statement as arrogant finally got to see what he actually meant during the first ODI against the West Indies.

    He might not be the appointed captain anymore but the leader in him is still alive. We saw that when his small piece of advice to leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal worked wonders for India and resulted in the big wicket of the opposition skipper Kieron Pollard.

    Chahal had already trapped Nicholas Pooran on the previous ball with his traditional variation but when Pollard walked out in the middle, the former skipper advised him to welcome him to the crease with a wrong-one.

    The 31-year-old spinner bowled a loopy googly, as suggested by Kohli and moments later they were all celebrating as Pollard was cleaned up trying to play a lofted drive against the turn on his very first ball.

    “Ulta wala daal... bindaas daal (Don't worry, bowl the wrong'un),” Kohli told Chahal. 
    This kind of advice was a regular feature when MS Dhoni used to keep wickets and fans loved the former skipper taking a leaf out of his book and helping the spinner with his game plan.
    After dismissing the opposition skipper for a golden duck, Chahal turned to Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma to celebrate the wicket. This conversation was caught in the stump mic and soon it started doing rounds on the internet as people praised Kohli’s astute understanding of the game.

    However, the celebration that became a huge talking point on social media was Kohli and Rohit sharing a laugh while celebrating the dismissal.

    Apart from helping Chahal snare the big fish, Kohli even convinced Rohit to go for the DRS despite Rishabh Pant’s reluctance.

    He might not be the skipper anymore but Rohit knows what value Kohli brings to the table and how valuable his advice is to the team. Watching them celebrate Pollard’s wicket like best buddies, one thing is clear that the speculation of rift between them doesn’t exist beyond social media.

    Chahal picking up a wicket by following Kohli’s advice is a lesson for all those who misunderstood the former skipper’s mature stance on leadership before the series. There were several instances throughout the match that proved what Kohli said was right and that a senior player like him doesn’t need a captain to act as a leader on the field.

    Recently, in an interview, popular Bhojpuri superstar and BJP MP from East Delhi Manoj Tiwari was asked about his take on Bollywood superstar Kangana Ranaut. 
    When asked “Kangana Ranaut kaisi lagti hai aapko?” on the YouTube channel Unfiltered by Samdish, a reluctant Manoj initially replied, “Woh dekho uske baare mein kuch bhi kehna theek nahin hai. (It isn’t right saying anything about her.)” 
    When asked if he is scared of her, Manoj responded in negative and added, “Humein aisa lagta hai apne vichaar ko itna bhi blasting mat rakho…ki ussey directly hit kar deti hain. (I feel one shouldn’t be as aggressive in sharing their opinion that it hits people below the belt.)”

    He was then asked to explain his statement further by sharing an example. Manoj then replied, “Ek artist ka bhi apna dharm hota hai. Ya toh rajneeti mein aa gaye ho toh fir bolo sab khul ke. Dekho Sushant ke samay mein woh jitni baatein karti thi toh samajh mein aati thi. Thoda Maharashtra sarkar ka bhi unke prati ravaiya bahut hard ho gaya. Woh bhi theek nahin tha. (If you have joined politics then it is fine but as an artist one should be a bit dignified. When she shared her views during Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise those were understandable. Also, the Maharashtra government’s response to Kangan was a bit hard. It was not right.) ” 

    He further continued, “Ek maryada ka paalan karna chahiye (Kangana ko). Apni baat kaho but kisi ko anaadar se naam lena hamaare desh ki sanskriti nahin hai. (Kangana should be within sensible limits. She has the right to voice her opinion but to use disrespectful language against someone isn’t in our culture and tradition.)”

    “Kisi ko bhi, koi mukhya mantri ke pad pe hai toh usko samman dena aavashyak hai. Koi pradhan mantri ke pad pe hai toh aur bhi jo log hamaare pradhan mantri ko is tarah se bolte hain, unko bhi bolna chahta hoon, yeh theek nahin hai. Desh ke pradhan mantri, mukhya mantri aur bhi bade padon pe baithe vyaktiyon ka aap virodh kariya agar karna hai lekin bhasha maryadit honi chahiye. Usmein Kangana apni bhasha kabhi kabhi maryada kho deti hain. (People should respect the Chief Minister of a state, the Prime Minister of a country. There are people who use foul language for our PM, that is also wrong. The PM, CMs and other people at big positions in our country should be treated with respect even when you are criticising them.     Manoj Tiwari was insinuating towards Kangana’s 2020 Twitter rant where she had lashed out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and had called him “the worse product of nepotism”. 
    In a series of tweets, she had stated, “Raut called me Haramkhor now Uddhav called me namak haram, he is claiming I won’t get food in my state if Mumbai does not give me shelter, shame on you I am your son’s age this is how you speak to a self made single woman, Chief Minister you are the worse product of nepotism.”

    She had also added, “Chief Minister I am not drunk on my father’s power and wealth like you, if I wanted to be a nepotism product I could have stayed back in Himachal, I hail from a renowned family, I didn’t want to live off on their wealth and favours, some people have self respect and self worth.”

    India defeated the West Indies by six wickets in their ODI series opener in Ahmedabad on Sunday.  
    Rohit Sharma was leading the Men in Blue for the first time in the 50-over format after officially taking over the reins from Virat Kohli and the 34-year-old did a commendable job with his field placements and bowling changes. 
    Rohit also shone with the bat with a brisk half-century that laid the platform for an easy win in India's 1000th ODI match. Another thing that stood out on the day for the new India skipper was his DRS calls. Every time Rohit challenged an on-field call, the TV umpire had to overturn the decision.

    Impressed with Rohit's ability to successfully call for DRS, former India captain and batting great Sunil Gavaskar lavished praise on the Indian skipper. 
    Gavaskar even compared Rohit's DRS skills with that of former skipper MS Dhoni. 
    “When Dhoni was there I used to call it the Dhoni Referral System. And I mentioned it in commentary that you can now definitely call it the Rohit system because he is getting it absolutely right so far," Gavaskar had said on commentary during India vs West Indies first ODI. 
    However, Gavaskar's comparison of Rohit and Dhoni did not go well with fans as they felt the legendary India cricketer is just promoting the 'Mumbai lobby' and that there is no comparison between Dhoni and Rohit.

    Fans argued that while Dhoni had taken numerous DRS calls in international and domestic cricket (IPL), it is harsh to compare him with Rohit who has just started leading the side in the international circuit. Some even called it an insult to Dhoni's legacy.

    According to reports, Salman revealed that he had been neighbours with Rekha and would get up at 5:30 in the morning to watch her go on her morning walks.
    “Uss waqt yoga se toh mera koi connection tha hi nahi par kyunki Rekha ji wahaan pe sikhati thi yoga, main aur mere dost pohoch jaaya karte the (At that time I had no connection with yoga, but as Rekha ji taught there, I and my friends used to go there)” he said.
    Salman revealed this when Rekha had come to promote her film ‘Super Nani’ on the sets of Bigg Boss several years ago. It was there when Rekha pitched and told what Salman had told his own family.

    It was after this that Salman said, “Shayad isliye meri shaadi nahi hui. (Maybe this is why I did not get married)”
    To this, Rekha replied, “Shaayad meribhi isiliye nahin huyi… (Maybe this is why even I didn't)”
    Aw! This truly is a heartwarming incident.
    On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film Pathan.

    Shakti Kapoor is one of the most popular villains of Bollywood. When you are seen as the bad boy on the big screen, people perceive you in a certain way. From casting couch sting operation to his misconduct towards women, Shakti has been in the news for many wrong reasons.  
    Back in 2005, India TV carried out an explosive sting operation wherein the female journalist met him disguised as an aspiring actress. His statements caught in the video created a stir in the whole industry highlighting the truth of casting couch in Bollywood.

    The news soon spread like wildfire, and Shakti Kapoor was banned from the industry by the Film and Television Producers Guild of India.
    As per a report in International Business Times, Shakti told the Film and Television Producers Guild of India that the undercover reporter met him several times and threatened to commit suicide if he did not come to the hotel room she had booked. Later on, the ban was lifted as there was no substantial proof against the veteran actor.

    Condemning the way the sting operation was conducted, director Sawan Kumar earlier told PTI, "Had the actor been caught luring an innocent victim, it was understandable. But having a journalist pose and enact a drama is different... It appears to have been staged to trap him.” 
    "It is unfair on part of the media to blame the industry. A sensible director would not indulge in this because he cannot afford to put his entire career, reputation and work at stake for a single night stand," he said. "Moreover, how can the media trespass into private spaces? What the channel has done is wrong," he said.

    Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan, who got married in December 1998, shocked their fans by announcing their separation in 2016 and getting divorced in 2017 after 19 years of togetherness.     Legendary singer, known as the Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar passed away due to Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital.  
    Soon, tributes started to pour in not just from India but from all over the subcontinent and even from different parts of the world. 
    Amongst the Indians and south-east Asians remembering Lata Mangeshkar, there was also English actress Hannah Waddingham, who is popular for playing fan-favourite Rebecca Welton in multiple Emmy award-winning show Ted Lasso.

    The entire nation is mourning the loss of India's Nightingale, as the melodious voice of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar will continue being a part of our lives forever. At her funeral yesterday, probably the entire country got together, physically and virtually to pray for her departed soul and to thank her for blessing us with the gift of her voice.

    One such image and a video of SRK and his manager praying at her mortal remains got viral for two reasons. As we all know, SRK is a practicing Muslim and his manager is a Hindu, hence the image shows the two of them praying, him reading a ‘dua’, his manager folding her hands. People called it a beautiful example of communal harmony and the face of India’s culture.
