We all love watching Bollywood films, mostly because of the different kinds of characters and their stories that we get to see unfold on the screens.
Every now and then, we come across an energetic, fiery, and no-holds-barred character, who we'd all want to be in our wildest dreams. I mean, who hasn't thought about being a complete ass**** once in a lifetime because of the kind of irritating people that we meet in our lives.
Well, these Bollywood characters sure didn't take shit from anyone mainly because of their firecracker personality.
    1. Veronica In Cocktail © Prime Video
Veronica comes across as this crazy party animal and is someone who won't take nonsense from anyone. Despite a soft side that we get to see from her in the movie towards Meera and Gautam, we know that on any given day, if we are in trouble or want to take revenge on someone, we'd all want her on our side.

    2. Bunny In Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani © Netflix
The extremely extroverted personality of Bunny in the movie showed us that he doesn't really mess about when talking facts to people. While his overall personality has question marks over it, one thing is for sure, he knows when to let loose, have newer experiences, and go absolutely crazy, showcasing traits of his obvious firecracker personality.

    3. Lucky In Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! © Netflix
Abhay Deol's portrayal of Lucky in the film showed us that his character despite fooling anyone and everyone wore his heart on the sleeve. Now that also calls for trouble, as he'd easily get irritated because of his short temper.

Other than that, he would improvise and perform the craziest of thefts without putting a lot of thought into it, giving us snippets of his firecracker personality.
    4. Geet In Jab We Met © Prime Video
Geet in Jab We Met was a person who loved to say whatever the hell she wanted to say. Not really scared of anything, with a temperament to do anything out of pure instinct, she really would be a fitting example of a person around whom the world actually revolves.

Despite her single-mindedness on things, people loved her mainly because of her fiery personality.
    5. Sunny In Mujhse Shaadi Karogi © Prime Video
Akshay Kumar's portrayal of Sunny is an epic example of a person with a rocket in his pocket. Fool anyone, prank anyone, even kidnap a puppy, Sunny could do the craziest of things and get away with it. And we loved him for it.

Sunny's character gave Salman's character of Sameer hell throughout the movie and it was freaking hilarious. He truly was a firecracker!

"Dibbe wali body nahi chahiye humein!"
"Hum powder nahi khaate, natural hai!"
"Woh dekho saaman wali body, dekh ke hi pata chal raha hai!"
How many times have you heard these lines in your neighbourhood gym? Can't count? Thought so. There seems to be a consistent, unending debate inside and outside of gyms, when it comes to protein supplements. The result? Endless confusion for beginners who joined the gym to build muscle and lose fat.

Protein powders, or supplements if you want to use the correct term, are looked up as a magic ingredient that helps build lean muscles super fast, and are also simultaneously looked down upon as something which is terrible for your body. Another super popular but super stupid angle goes on to categorize them as 'steroids', which can be qualified as the pinnacle of being misinformed. Before getting to the point, let us clear that thing up first: Protein Supplements are NOT steroids or drugs, people.

Now, let's get to the million dollar question straightaway. Can you build lean muscle like actors and models without consuming protein powder? Before we get to a yes or a no, let's quickly understand the scientific requirement behind muscle building.

    via GIPHY
In layman's terms, muscle building requires resistance/strength training, a caloric surplus, and enough protein. We are dealing with the last and 3rd factor in this article. What exactly is 'enough protein' should be the question here, and we are going to address exactly that.

    via GIPHY
Anyone who is serious about muscle building, and is doing strenuous resistance/weight training at the gym for the same, needs a particular amount of protein every single day. There is a math to that:
If your body weight is x kg, you need 1.6x to 2.2x gm of protein every day to build optimum muscle. For better understanding, suppose your body weight is 70 kg. In that case, you will need (1.6 x 70 = 112 gm) to (2.2 x 70 = 154 gm) protein every day in your daily diet, depending on your workout intensity and goals.

    via GIPHY
And that's a 'problem' because, it's a lot! More than 100 gm of protein every single day can be very difficult to manage with a typical desi 'dal roti chawal sabzi' diet. One whole egg contains only about 6 gm protein, 100 ml of milk contains about 3.3 gm protein, 100 gm paneer contains about 18 gm protein, 100 gm chicken breast contains about 25 gm protein.

The protein content can be managed with a proper diet strategy, but often while starting out, it gets overwhelming. The result? Less protein intake, and less muscle growth. Now, what if there was a solution to this problem? What if there was a food item that had 70-80% protein content by volume, and could easily provide around 25 gm of protein without any hassle? It would be extremely useful, right?

    via GIPHY
Yes? Exactly! That is where protein powders and supplements come in. One scoop of protein powder has about 20-25 gm of protein, and if someone is struggling to hit their daily protein targets, one or two scoops can easily fulfill that without much hassle.

Now, let's go back to our question: Can you build lean muscle like actors and models without consuming protein powder? The answer is: YES! A million times 'yes'. If you're able to hit your daily protein targets through your daily diet, there is absolutely no need to consume protein powders or supplements. However, if you are not able to hit your daily protein target, you can gladly resort to protein supplements. In other words, protein powders and supplements are nothing but 'food rich in protein'. It is not a medicine, not a drug, not a steroid, and it's not bad for your body.

In conclusion, yes, you can build lean muscles like actors and models without consuming protein powder, given you hit your daily protein targets. However, in case you can't, gladly go ahead and consume protein supplements without any guilt, as all it does is fulfill your daily protein requirement, and nothing else.
