    LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar Khan on Wednesday announced that Pakistan will not tour Bangladesh this year as per schedule.
    The series has been postponed indefinitely by mutual consent, said Shaharyar.
    Pakistan was scheduled to play two Test matches, three One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 International on the tour of  Bangladesh in July and August this year.
    "Pakistan have now toured Bangladesh twice without them reciprocating, and we feel we cannot tour Bangladesh for the third straight time. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the tour, and will explore another window in the next year or so", said the PCB chairman.
    Bangladesh last toured Pakistan in 2007-08, for a five-ODI series. Since then, Pakistan have toured Bangladesh twice, in 2011-12 and most recently in 2015.

    Real Madrid again made light of the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo as they crushed Deportivo la Coruna 6-2 to maintain the upper hand in the La Liga title race on Wednesday.
    Madrid and Barcelona are locked on 78 points at the top of the table, but Real have a game in hand over their title rivals.
    Barca remain top thanks to their better head-to-head record as Lionel Messi struck twice to relegate Osasuna in a 7-1 thrashing.
    Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane made nine changes in all from the side that lost 3-2 to Barca on Sunday to reignite the title race.
    Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and the injured Gareth Bale were left out the Madrid squad for a third straight away league game, but again their absence wasn't missed.
    "It is the hardest job for a coach. When they play like they did today and then maybe they won't play in the next game," said Zidane.
    "We know I have a phenomenal group of players and all of them are ready for the challenge between now and the end of the season."
    Alvaro Morata smashed home at the near post to give the visitors the perfect start after less than a minute.
    James Rodriguez then added a second from Lucas Vazquez's cross as Madrid threatened to run riot inside the first 20 minutes.
    However, the European champions have now kept just one clean sheet in their last 15 games and their defence was breached once more when Florin Andone turned home Gael Kakuta's mishit shot 10 minutes before half-time.
    Vazquez, though, restored Real's two-goal lead before half-time and Zidane's men could even have reached double figures in a dominant second period.
    Morata unselfishly teed up Rodriguez for his second of the night before Isco sealed a stunning individual display by smashing home 13 minutes from time.
    Joselu got another goal back for Deportivo with a fine looping header, but fittingly Real had the final say when Casemiro's piledriver slipped under Deportivo 'keeper Przemys?aw Tyton.

    At the Camp Nou, Barca fans paid homage to Messi's brilliance against Real in scoring the winner and his 500th goal for the club with the last kick of the game in Sunday's El Clasico.
    The five-time World Player of the Year responded by opening the scoring as he pounced on an error in the Osasuna defence to stroll through on goal and lift the ball over the advancing Salvatore Sirigu.
    Andre Gomes has been the scapegoat for many of Barca's most disappointing defeats this season.
    But the Portuguese had arguably his best night in a Barca shirt as he drilled home Ivan Rakitic's cross to make it 2-0 on the half hour.
    "We had the chance to use a lot of players that have played fewer minutes," said Barca boss Luis Enrique.
    "It is a game that boosts those individuals, the team as a whole and gives us hope for the end of the season."
    Roberto Torres's free-kick briefly brought Osasuna back into the game three minutes into the second half.
    Barca, though, simply went through the gears with a four-goal burst in 10 devastating minutes.
    Firstly, Gomes slotted home his second of the night after Gerard Pique's initial effort came back off the post.
    Messi then curled in his 49th goal in 47 appearances this season from the edge of the area.
    The Argentine instantly made way for 19-year-old Carles Alena to keep him fresh for Saturday's Catalan derby at Espanyol.
    Paco Alcacer also grabbed a double for Barca's fifth and seventh.
    And in between times Javier Mascherano bagged his first goal in 319 Barca appearances by blasting home from the penalty spot.
    Osasuna's relegation was confirmed after Leganes beat Las Palmas 3-0 to move six points clear of the drop zone.
    And Real Sociedad boosted their chances of qualifying for the Europa League with a 3-2 win at Valencia.

    QUETTA: Frontier Corps Balochistan foiled a terror bid under Operation Raddul Fasaad on Wednesday, informed ISPR. 
    According to reports, the personnel recovered a large amount of explosives, rockets and ammunition recovered from a compound in Zhob during a search operation.
    Pakistan launched a nationwide military operation 'Radd-ul-Fasaad', which include broad-spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations in Punjab, and continuation of ongoing operations across the country.
    According to the Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army, the operation aims include the elimination of the residual and latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made so far and ensuring the security of Pakistan’s borders.
    The Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy, Civil Armed Forces as well as other security and law enforcement agencies will continue to actively participate and support the efforts of the Pakistan Army to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.
    Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad will entail conduct of broad spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations by Rangers in Punjab, a continuation of ongoing operations across the country and focus on more effective border security management.
    The operation will also include a countrywide deweponisation and explosive control as additional cardinals of the effort.
    The hallmark of this operation will be pursuance of the National Action Plan.
    The decision comes after Gen Bajwa held a high-level security session in Lahore.
    The security session was attended by all Corps Commanders in Punjab province, DG PR Punjab, and intelligence officials.

    STUTTGART: Maria Sharapova marked her return from a 15-month doping ban on Wednesday with a rusty 7-5, 6-3 first-round win over Roberta Vinci at Stuttgart´s WTA tournament.
    Sharapova, the former world number one, brushed off a nervous start to claim a convincing win on her controversial comeback having tested positive for meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open.

    Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has said that Pakistan’s case against the Indian cricket authorities for dishonouring agreement of playing bilateral series with Pakistan is strong, adding that the board is fully prepared to move ahead with suing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
    Speaking in Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath, Sethi said that the dissolution of “Big Three” model will result in financial redistribution from India among smaller countries like Ireland, Afghanistan, which he said are the “big winners”.
    The rest of the money would go to other countries, he said.
    Questioned whether it is possible that India will pull out of the ICC Champions Trophy to pressurise the International Cricket Council, Sethi said the country can go ahead if it wants to and that it wouldn’t result in cancellation of the tournament.
    “This is unlikely though. Indians would not be happy if their country pulls out of the champion’s trophy. Moreover, India will not do something which would isolate it,” said Sethi.
    Earlier today PCB announced that Pakistan has completed its preparations for legal work ahead of suing BCCI.
    Sethi told Geo.tv that PCB has informed the BCCI of their plans to sue the Indian cricket board.
    “PCB has told BCCI it is suing for compensation against BCCI's refusal to play bilateral series as per the agreement signed in 2014,” Sethi said after the ICC meeting in Dubai, which also outvoted the Big Three and India’s dominance in ICC.
    A 2014 agreement between Pakistan and India states that the Indian team was scheduled to play six series against Pakistan, out of which four of them were going to be Pakistan’s home series.
    However, India backtracked on its commitment, citing its government refusal to allow for not playing the cricket series.
    The Board of Governors of PCB had approved legal action against BCCI in a meeting last month.
    A source in PCB confirmed that PCB’s legal notice is ready and will be served next week.
    “PCB is sending legal notice to BCCI next week for breach of agreement to play bilateral series and will demand financial compensation,” the source told Geo.tv
    Both Pakistan and India haven’t played full series since 2007, although Pakistan toured India in late 2012 for a short series of three ODIs and two T20Is.

    NEW DELHI: Indian carrier Jet Airways said Wednesday it had suspended a foreign pilot from flying duty over allegations that he assaulted a woman and hurled racist abuse at another passenger on a domestic flight.
    The Mumbai-based airline confirmed the incident took place on April 3 on a Chandigarh-Mumbai flight, adding the pilot in question had been taken off the flying roster soon after and an apology had been extended to the victim.
    "As regards the said incident, Jet Airways has noted guest feedback with concern and regrets the incident," Jet Airways said in a statement Wednesday.
    "The airline has, as per policy, initiated a full-fledged investigations, based on specific inputs from guests, concerned departments and agencies."
    Cricketer Harbhajan Singh has weighed in on the scandal, although he clarified that he had not witnessed the incident firsthand.
    "Not only was he racist, but physically assaulted a lady and abused a physically challenged man... absolutely disgraceful and shame on @jetairways," said India’s out-of-favour spinner on Twitter, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reprimand the airline and its pilot.
    Scandals have dogged the airline industry in recent weeks, particularly in the US after United Airlines drew global outrage for forcefully dragging a passenger off an overbooked flight.
    Footage of the April 9 incident captured by fellow passengers went viral on social media and caused a public relations calamity for the carrier and airport officials.

    KARACHI: As the second phase of the population and housing census is continuing, harrowing reports reveal that police officers were given just Rs28 for one time meal.
    More than 6,000 officers from interior Sindh have come to the city for the census, according to sources. Moreover, addition 15,000 officers have been posted in different districts of the city.
    Rs50 million were allotted for 23 districts across the province. The funds have been released by the Sindh government.
    However, sources said that in one district, where about 650 police officers were deployed, an amount of Rs1,674,000 was released for the food of officers for 30 days.
    This means that each officer was given Rs83 for three meals per day and Rs28 for one meal.
    Interestingly, this amount was not even released for stationed the police officers.

    Earlier, reports had emerged that police officers who are called from across the Sindh to provide security for the census were being fed food provided by different charity organisations of the metropolis – raising questions over the transparency of huge funds released for the housing, food and transport services of the census staffers.
    This situation was observed in at least four police stations across the city, according to Geo correspondent. In two stations, food from Saylani Welfare was served, while another one served food from Abdullah Shah Ghazi mausoleum. Another station on MA Jinnah Road served food from Alam Shah Bukhari mausoleum.

    ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said on Wednesday that he would not reveal name of the person who made Rs10 billion offer to him to be silent on Supreme Court's decision over Panama leaks case.
    Speaking in an interview, Khan said that the person who made an offer is close to Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif but in case if he reveals his name, the person will get into trouble, further adding that the offer was made two weeks ago.
    Khan also said that the Rs 10bn was just an initial offer.
    Earlier, while speaking during a gathering at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf alleged that he had been made an offer in the Panama case.
     "Just imagine how much money he offered me to be silent. Rs10 billion...  If he can offer me this much money, just imagine how much he would offer to others. That is why if we don't maintain public pressure this issue then after two months it will be dragged to next year," Khan said.  
    State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb while reacting to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s statement demanded to reveal the name of the person who made the offer.
    “If you have even slight morality then you should name the one who made this offer to you”, she said while speaking to the media in Islamabad.
    She said that Imran Khan should provide evidence and only allegations are not sufficient.
    The minister said that identifying the name is the responsibility of Imran Khan and it will be the test of his morality.
    She added that Imran Khan's allegation is totally baseless and is a continuation of his attitude of levelling baseless allegations against the personalities and institutions of the country.
    Meanwhile, leaders from Pakistan’s main political parties have sought clarification on the recent allegation.
    Punjab Law Minister and PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of Imran Khan’s allegation.
    "The Chief Justice should ask Imran Khan who offered him the money," said Sanaullah while speaking outside the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday. The accusations he has hurled should be enquired into, the law minister said.
    If the accusations are proven to be true then the person who offered the amount should be brought before the entire nation, he remarked, adding "that person should be punished."
    However, if the allegations are proven to be false then Imran should be taken to task, Sanaullah suggested.
    "For the last four years, Imran has been insulting people," he maintained. "He should be sent a notice and punished."
    However, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, responded to Imran's claim.
    In a tweet, Maryam responded to the accusation and called Imran a 'liar'.
    Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Saeed Ghani said Imran Khan's allegations are very serious. Speaking to reporters, Ghani said it is Imran Khan's duty to clarify who made the offer? Upon whose instructions was the offer made? All such details must be brought to light, Ghani added.
    The PPP Senator said that if such an offer was made, an inquiry should be conducted against the prime minister on these grounds. He added that by not clarifying, Imran Khan's statement was also casting a shadow of doubt on the PPP.
    Separately, President Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali reiterated that Imran Khan should clarify who made him the offer and give a detailed explanation.

    ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has forwarded names of its three nominees to the Supreme Court for the Joint Investigation Team, which will conduct a probe into funds allegedly used by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's children to buy properties in London through offshore businesses.
    The names of FIA Additional Director General (ADG) Captain (retd) Ahmed Lateef, ADG Doctor Shafeeq and ADG Wajid Zia have been forwarded to the SC, which will decide the final name for heading the JIT.
    Earlier today sources revealed that Captain (retd) Lateef and ADG Doctor Shafeeq went on leave citing medical reasons, raising speculation that the remaining ADG in office, ADG Zia, could head the JIT.
    Citing the 'indifference' and 'unwillingness' of the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau in its verdict on the Panama leaks case, a five-member Supreme Court bench had said there were still questions "which go to the heart of the matter and need to be answered".
    According to the verdict, the six-member team will comprise the following officers:
    FIA officer
    A senior Officer of the Federal Investigation Agency, who will not be below the rank of Additional Director General. Having firsthand experience of investigation of white collar crime, the FIA officer will head the investigation team.
    NAB representative
    Despite expressing their lack of trust in the National Accountability Bureau chairman to investigate the matter, a representative of NAB will also be part of the six-member JIT.
    SECP officer
    A nominee of the Security & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Having investigative and enforcement powers, the SECP is responsible for regulation and supervision of the corporate sector, capital market, insurance companies, and non-banking finance companies.
    Here, the SECP will play his part in the investigation team as he would be familiar with issues of money laundering and white collar crimes.
    State Bank of Pakistan nominee
    As the probe involves a lot of financial transactions, an official of the country's central bank will also be on the investigation team.
    ISI officer
    The Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan's premier intelligence agency, will also be represented by on the team by a seasoned officer nominated by ISI Director-General Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar.
    MI officer
    The Military Intelligence will also be part of the team, with a seasoned officer nominated by its director-general.

    DUBAI: International Cricket Council has rolled back it's 'Big Three model' after full members vote on Wednesday. 
    The big three model was shot down by 8: 2 votes. 
    Separately, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has crossed the April 25 deadline for announcing their Champions Trophy squad, becoming the only team that failed to do so, from among eight countries.
    The ICC constitution allows countries to name their squads- post the deadline under certain circumstances.
    According to reports, defending champions India and BCCI, as of now, BCCI are not considering any extreme move of pulling out, not naming the squad is being seen as a pressure tactic.
    The BCCI has not officially sought an extension, as of late evening; which can be perceived as defiance, considering the dispute between BCCI and ICC over a reduction in share revenue.
    In its earlier meeting, The ICC said "broader principles" that have been agreed included a "revised financial distribution ensuring a more equitable distribution of revenues" and the "equal weight of votes for all board members regardless of membership status".
    "The proposals from the working group to reverse the resolutions of 2014 and deliver a revised constitution and financial model were accepted by the ICC board and now we will work collectively to refine the detail for final sign-off in April.
    "I want the ICC to be reasonable and fair in our approach to all 105 Members and the revised constitution and financial model does that," ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar said.
    The ICC´s announcement came just days after India´s Supreme Court appointed a top anti-corruption troubleshooter on Monday as head of a team to oversee the Board of Control for Cricket in India -- the financial powerhouse of the global game -- after sacking its top officials for failing to implement reforms.

    LONDON: Surrey all-rounder Zafar Ansari unexpectedly announced his retirement from cricket at the age of 25 on Wednesday, just six months after making his England debut.
    Ansari, who had been with Surrey since the age of eight, said he wanted to pursue other opportunities and was contemplating a career in law.
    "After seven years as a professional cricketer and almost two decades in total playing the game, I have decided to bring my cricket career to an end," he said in a statement released by Surrey.
    "This has been a very difficult decision to make and I have not made it lightly. It is... with great sadness that I say goodbye.
    "Nevertheless, I have always been clear that when the time was right for me to move on I would, and that time has now come.
    "While the timing may come as a surprise, I have always maintained that cricket was just one part of my life and that I have other ambitions that I want to fulfil.
    "With that in mind, I am now exploring another career, potentially in law, and to achieve this I have to begin the process now."
    Ansari was first capped by Surrey in 2014 and made his one-day debut for England the following year.
    His Test debut was delayed by a freak hand injury sustained while fielding at Old Trafford in late 2015.
    He eventually won his first Test cap against Bangladesh last October.
    Ansari has combined his cricket career with academic studies.
    He secured a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Sociology from Cambridge University in 2013 and was awarded a Master´s degree in History by Royal Holloway, University of London last year.
    Alec Stewart, director of cricket at Surrey, said: "Zafar´s exceptionally tough but considered decision is one that we should all respect and understand.
    "We wish Zafar the very best in whatever the future holds for him and he will always be welcomed back to the Kia Oval with open arms."

    SRINAGAR: Kashmiris are known to resist the Indian state aggression in the occupied valley.  Be it with a gun in the hands of freedom fighters or stones with the university students. But surprisingly the Kashmiri youth have started to explore a new channel to vent out their dissent against New Delhi – Rap music.  
    In a feature report by NPR music; Roushan Illahi - Kashmir's leading rapper opined that guns, soldiers, and protracted conflict provide the "street reality" that hip-hop is meant to capture.       
    His song "Dead Eyes" released on the occasion of India`s 68th Republic Day focuses on the eye injuries that thousands of Kashmiris suffered due to pellet bullets fired by security patrols during anti-military demonstrations commenced after the assassination of Kashmiri freedom fighter, Burhan Wani.

    Aamir Ame, 23, co-wrote the track with two other budding rappers. He says it was his "first political song, an example of survival." And it went viral in the valley.  
    Their song “I Protest” has also made waves all across the occupied valley.

    Until my freedom has come

    Against the bullet in his head
    "When I came out in 2010, I was very blunt, I was very direct," Illahi says. "And that's what another tenet of hip-hop or rapping is. If you talk to any one of us, there is a lot anger. That anger stems from this hopelessness that nothing is going to change or nothing is going happen to Kashmir or that people are still going to get killed. And it's bound to give birth to dissent."
    "It Shapes ... Your Personality"
    A musician in the valley, Ali Saifudin, believes that the reactionary music is because of the anger found within the Kashmiris against the Indian state.
    "It's just a natural sentiment, the sentiments on the streets," Saifudin says. "I see news of young men being shot, and I feel anger inside me ... I put all those feelings into a song."
    A guitarist, Saifudin says he's been influenced by the music of Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley. (He says it was Google that introduced him to their music.

    His, this song was performed at Srinagar Cafe – a meeting point of young Kashmiri musicians.
    The audience for these young musicians is mostly online, as the venues in Indian-occupied-Kashmir are controlled by the state.
    Illahi, aka MC Kash, says he's "proud" of young musicians who are "keeping alive the memories of the Kashmiri people through their music." Illahi champions "a demilitarized Kashmir" and insists Kashmiris need to be able to "talk and feel free of any harassment or repercussions."
    He said that his studio was raided in 2010. But this taciturn artist no longer directly talks against the military establishment — he self-censors. "In Kashmir," he says, "you have to make your own space, and then rely on your luck that you won't get arrested."
    Today, Illahi's dissent is subtle. He has most recently teamed up with a rock musician in a piece called "Like A Sufi" that is part dreamy, part heart-pounding.
     The song captures the mysticism of Sufis, who make up a sect of Islam. But the subtext of the Kashmiri conflict is hard to miss in the opening lines: "I await you / All the fallen / In the garden of remembrance / Like a Sufi."
    The lyrics follow through: "Break free of the chains ... Twirling freedom, like a Sufi."

    The video of a Turkish singer Noor Yelmaz singing the famous Vital Signs song Dil Dil Pakistan has gone viral.
    Yelmaz, holding a guitar, can be heard singing a slow version of the song in a voice characteristic of an indie artist.
    Earlier the Turkish duo Emirhan Özdemir and a?r? Hakan Eser had become quite a sensation for singing Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Afreen Afreen’ and Junaid Jamshed’s songs in a tribute to the deceased artist.

    Former Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan in a confessional video today divulged the details of his years at the TTP, besides admitting that the terrorist organisation was in contact with Afghan and Indian intelligence agencies.
    For many years, Liaquat Ali alias Ehsanullah Ehsan acted as the face of a terrorist organisation which claimed dozens of deadly attacks throughout Pakistan. Soon after an attack, the former TTP spokesman would claim responsibility in a video message or through a message to the media. These included attacks on common citizens, tourists, foreigners and security personnel.
    Still a college student, Ehsan joined TTP Pakistan in 2008. He was appointed the spokesman for the TTP Mohmand chapter, and then became the central spokesman for the TTP Pakistan. He later became the spokesman for the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.
    Here is the list of attacks carried out by the TTP and claimed by Ehsanullah Ehsan.
    The attack on Malala Yousafzai in 2012, in which the child activist sustained injuries to her head but survived.
    The rocket attack on Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar in December 2012, in which four people were killed.
    Killing of nine foreign tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan in June 2013.
    Twin attacks in Mohmand agency in November 2014, in which six peace committee members were killed.
    Suicide attack at Wagah Border in November 2014, killing 60.
    Suicide attack in Attock in August 2015, which killed then-home minister of Punjab Shuja Khanzada, and 13 others.
    Suicide attack in Allama Iqbal Park, Lahore in March 2016, resulting in the death of 72 people.

    KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be pressurised into submitting his resignation soon.
    Today, the entire world is chanting ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans, he remarked while addressing Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers during party’s protest in front of Quaid-e-Azam's Mausoleum on Wednesday.
    The party is staging a protest against the federal government, which was attended by a large number of provincial ministers, assembly members and party workers.
    “We will continue to protest till Nawaz Sharif submits his resignation. We will continue to protest till Sindh gets its due rights,” remarked Murad Ali Shah.
    He added, “Nawaz Sharif should listen to judiciary and the people.”
    CM Sindh also remarked that federal government has given nothing but distress to the people of the country. He pointed out that about 18 to 20 hour load shedding occurs across the province.
    Due to unjustified distribution of electricity, gas and water, PPP workers kept chanting ‘Go Nawaz Go’.
    Speaking on the occasion, another PPP leader Nisar Khuhro said that Nawaz Sharif is the one who has created a crisis, adding that the PM has brought a bad name to the country across the globe.
    “We have no voice in the world now. We have been left alone,” remarked Khuhro.

    ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/PESHAWAR: Leaders from Pakistan’s main political parties have sought clarification into recent allegations made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan of being offered Rs 10 billion to stay silent in the Panama Case.
    Khan during a gathering at Shaukat Khanum Hospital alleged that he had been made an offer in the Panama case. "Just imagine how much money he offered me to be silent. Rs10 billion. If he can offer me this much money, just imagine how much he would offer to others. That is why if we don't maintain public pressure on this issue, then after two months it will be dragged to next year," Khan said.
    Punjab Law Minister and PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of Imran Khan’s allegation.
    "The Chief Justice should ask Imran Khan who offered him the money," said Sanaullah while speaking outside the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday. The accusations he has hurled should be enquired into, the law minister said.

    If the accusations are proven to be true then the person who offered the amount should be brought before the entire nation, he remarked, adding "that person should be punished."
    However, if the allegations are proven to be false then Imran should be taken to task, Sanaullah suggested.
    "For the last four years, Imran has been insulting people," he maintained. "He should be sent a notice and punished."
    However, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, responded to Imran's claim.
    In a tweet, Maryam responded to the accusation and called Imran a 'liar'.
    Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Saeed Ghani said Imran Khan's allegations are very serious. Speaking to reporters, Ghani said it is Imran Khan's duty to clarify who made the offer? Upon whose instructions was the offer made? All such details must be brought to light, Ghani added.
    The PPP Senator said that if such an offer was made, an inquiry should be conducted against the prime minister on these grounds. He added that by not clarifying, Imran Khan's statement was also casting a shadow of doubt on the PPP.
    Separately, President Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali reiterated that Imran Khan should clarify who made him the offer and give a detailed explanation.
    The ANP leader was speaking to the media after party’s think-tank session in Peshawar on Wednesday.
    On Panama verdict, he remarked that he respects the Supreme Court’s decision and will not demand PM’s resignation.
    He also raised doubts whether Imran Khan will accept the decision of the Joint Investigation Team if he is not willing to accept SC’s decision. “It is strange that the leaders distributed sweets one day and the next day they asked for the PM to resign,” he remarked.

    Former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan has revealed that Jamaat ul Ahrar chief Umer Khalid Khorasani went to India for medical treatment when he got injured during a raid.
    He said this during an exclusive interview in Geo News’ program ‘Jirga’. Ehsanullah added that Khorasani used an Afghan passport when he visited India.
    On Wednesday, the Pakistan Army released a video confessional statement Ehsanullah Ehsan in which he provided details of terrorist organisations working with hostile foreign agencies to destabilise Pakistan.

    Ehsanullah Ehsan can be seen admitting the terrorist organisations' nexus with Indian and Afghan intelligence agencies and security forces in carrying out subversive activities in Pakistan.
    Earlier this month, DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor had announced that Ehsanullah Ehsan, spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan's splinter group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, had surrendered to the Pakistan Army.
    Ehsan was previously the spokesperson of the TTP but later joined the JuA splinter faction.

    SRINAGAR: State authorities in the Indian-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday ordered internet service providers to block social media services including Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.
    In an issued statement, the local government said the services were "being misused by anti-national and anti-social elements" and should be blocked for one month or until further notice "in the interest of maintenance of public order".
    Separately, a group of Kashmiri cricketers was detained on Wednesday after a viral video clip showed them donning Pakistan cricket jerseys as they played a local match in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
    The players, who belong to the Baba Darya Ud Din team – named after the popular saint whose shrine is situated in Ganderbal—also started the match by singing the Pakistan national anthem.
    An announcement on the public address system said that the Pakistan national anthem was going to be played as a “mark of respect”, Indian media reported.
    Hindustan Times reported Central Kashmir deputy inspector general of police, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, as saying that the cricketers were detained for questioning. “The boys are in the police station.”
    Residents came out in support of the player’s detention near the police station and demanded their immediate release.
    Furthermore, in their fresh act of state terrorism Indian troops have martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Budgam district in occupied Kashmir.
    According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth were martyred during a siege and search operation at Hayatpora area of Chadoora in the district.
    Locals said that during the operation innocent civilians were beaten by Indian troops, leading to clashes between Indian troops and the youth.

    ISLAMABAD. State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb while reacting to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s statement where he alleged that the government had offered Rs10 billion to him to keep silent on Panama case, demanded to reveal the name who made the offer.
    “If you have even slight morality then you should name the one who made this offer to you”, she said while speaking to the media in Islamabad.
    She said that Imran Khan should provide evidence and only allegations are not sufficient.
    Imran Khan yesterday had said that when PML-N government can offer him such a huge amount then one can only imagine what they will offer investigation organisations probing the Panamagate case.
    “We will not leave pursuing the PML-N government until the prime minister resigns,” Imran Khan said.
    Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Imran Khan always targets Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who has been elected the premiere three times by the people of Pakistan.
    She said that the allegations that Imran Khan has been levelling during the past four years were rejected by the apex court.

    BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday it was "regrettable" that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied her foreign minister a meeting after the diplomat held talks with rights groups.
    Merkel´s spokesman said that talks with non-governmental organisations were common during foreign travel and should not set off a rift between allies.
    "The chancellor finds it regrettable that a meeting between Foreign Minister (Sigmar) Gabriel and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Netanyahu did not take place," he told reporters at a regular government briefing.
    "It should not be problematic for foreign visitors to meet with critical representatives of civil society."
    Netanyahu called off the planned meeting Tuesday with Gabriel after the German diplomat decided to go ahead with talks with Israeli rights groups Breaking The Silence and B´Tselem.
    Netanyahu´s rare move marked an affront against one of Israel´s closest international partners.
    Due to its historical responsibility as the perpetrator of the Holocaust that killed six million Jews, Germany has not only been a staunch ally of Israel but has also been cautious about openly criticising the Jewish state.
    But Netanyahu -- Israel´s most right-wing leader to date -- has irked Berlin by pressing on with settlement building in the Palestinian territories despite repeated warnings from world powers that it would harm any prospects of peace.
    Merkel had already in February postponed annual bilateral consultations after her government questioned Israel´s commitment to a two-state solution in the Middle East.

    KARACHI: Police recovered 4,736 donkey hides from 592 sacks during an operation in a shop in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 12 on Wednesday.
    One Chinese national and six others, including a woman, were arrested for involvement in the heinous crime. It was revealed that the hides were brought illegally from Lahore to be smuggled abroad.
    There were about eight hides in one sack, revealed SSP West Faisal Abdul Chachar, adding that one hide is sold for approximately Rs25,000.

    On October 17, 2015, customs foiled a bid to smuggle 1,200 donkey hides out of the country in Karachi. The officials told Geo News that the company that was trying send the hides abroad would be questioned. 
    Evidence regarding abolition of about 100,000 kilogramme of donkey meat would also be sought from the company, they added.

    Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ali Zaidi said on Wednesday that legendary cricketer Wasim Akram will join his party’s Rights for Karachi campaign which would begin on April 30 in the city.
    Ali Zaidi tweeted a picture of Wasim Akram, stated that the legendary cricketer would join party chairman Imran Khan on April 30.
    Talking to Geo News, Wasim Akram rejected the rumours that he was joining PTI, saying that he was not joining any political party.
    The former captain said that he will join the rally for the betterment of infrastructure of the port city.
    Last week, PTI took to the streets to mobilise and invite the public for their grand rally, ‘Huqooq-e-Karachi March’, which is going to be led by Imran Khan.

    The government of the Indian state of Uttar Pradash on Tuesday cancelled 15 public holidays marking the birth or death anniversary of important personalities, including Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), Jummat-ul-vida (Last Friday of Ramazan), and the Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Muiuddin Chishti.
    Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed students would instead be taught about these personalities on these days, India media reported.
    “There should be no holidays in schools on birth anniversaries of great personalities. Instead, a special two- hour programme should be held to teach students about them. The 220-day academic session has been reduced to only 120 days due to such holidays and if this tradition continues, there will be no day left for teaching in schools,” Adityanath said.
    The state has 42 public holidays of which 17 mark the birth anniversaries of eminent personalities in India.
