Monsoon currents are penetrating upper and central parts of the country on Wednesday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said. A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the next few days.

Rain and thunderstorm are expected at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Hazara divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir, while at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lahore, Sargodha, D.G. Khan, Sibbi, Nasirabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur divisions, FATA, and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 24 hours. Hot and humid weather is expected in other parts of the country.
