ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of the United States of America to Pakistan, David Hale congratulated Prime Minister-elect of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi following his election on Tuesday.

A post on Twitter by the US Embassy Islamabad shortly after Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan which read: 

"We congratulate Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on his election by the National Assembly. We look forward to working with him to advance our shared interests in a secure, democratic, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan and region."
