LAHORE: Young Doctors Association (YDA) members and Jinnah Hospital?s staff on Saturday assaulted a Geo News team covering the association?s strike.

YDA members attacked Geo News? cameraman Muhammad Rehan with a steel rod, tugged at reporter Naveen Ali?s dupatta, and hurled abuses at the two after identifying them as Geo News employees.

?Dr Mubashir, Dr Adnan Khokhar, and AMS security in-charge refused to listen to us when we tried to explain that we were only covering the protest,? Ali told Geo News.

?The security in-charge issued orders to throw us out of the premises following which the guards manhandled us.?

Mobile phones and the camera of the reporting team were damaged after they were confiscated by the hospital?s security guards and YDA members.

The YDA strike entered its fifth day on Saturday, with doctors boycotting public hospitals across Punjab to press the government to accept their demands.
