No shots fired at Nîmes station, investigating 'suspicious activity': police


Update [01:55 AM PST]: Local police took one person into custody late Saturday night in Nîmes, France; the person is reported to have been in possession of a non-lethal, alarm gun in his backpack.
Update [01:46 AM PST]: Police confirmed no shots have been fired at the Nimes train station following a response to reports of armed men storming the area, sources said.
While law enforcement agencies at present say the reports were unfounded, one person has been detained for "other reasons" following "suspicious activity".
It is to be noted that there are no reports of any casualties at present.
Initial reporting [01:20 AM PST]: Three armed men stormed a train at the Nîmes station in France, sources revealed.
Reports indicated that people in the area heard shots being fired at the station and that three men allegedly exited the train afterwards.
Local police have advised people to steer clear of the area surrounding the train station where gunshots were reportedly heard and which has been evacuated.
However, law enforcement agencies ? which were called to the scene after an emergency call ? declined such reports.
