KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples? Party (PPP) leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said on Wednesday that it is shameful to accuse any political party of supporting Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)?s London faction on the reasoning that it did not attend the all-parties conference of MQM-Pakistan the day before.

Khuhro said that neither did the PPP receive any formal invite for the now-postponed multi-party conference nor did the MQM inform them about the agenda of the meeting.

He alleged that MQM leader Farooq Sattar is lobbying for the Rs25bn Karachi package, adding that the PPP will not become part of its lobbying.

?Rs25bn Karachi package is not a favour from the federal government,? said Khuhro, adding, ?we regret the postponement of the conference which was called in hurry.?

He urged Sattar to not give anti-PPP statements.

?MQM did not mention its contact with PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari,? he shared.

Responding to a question, Khuhro said he doesn?t hold influence to impact the decisions of other parties [which also boycotted the meeting].
