KARACHI: After lashing Karachi a day earlier, intermittent rainfall is expected to continue for the next 48-hours. The first spell of rainfall was reported from various parts the city on Friday afternoon with some areas reporting heavy rainfall while other areas of the metropolis moderate rainfall was reported and in certain areas, the sun continued to shine.

Rainfall resumed in Karachi late on Friday afternoon with reports of rainfall on Super Highway, II Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Lyari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Sohrab Goth, Malir, Airport, Khalid-e-Waleed Road.  

Meanwhile, the local administration along with assistance from the Pakistan Army continued dewatering of areas that had been inundated by rainfalls on Thursday. 

On the direction of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, ministers Nasir Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, Mohammed Ali Malkani, Mukesh Chawla, Imdad Pitafi and Fayaz Butt were out on the streets reviewing the progress of cleaning and dewatering the city.
