We all remember the time when Apple ditched the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 as it was a sad moment for all of us. Many YouTubers tried to drill holes to create a “headphone jack” even though those holes were pretty much worthless.

However, one such individual successfully managed to install a working headphone jack to his iPhone 7 and it involved more than just “drilling” a hole. Scotty Allen took apart a used iPhone 7 and actually managed to connect a headphone jack to the circuitry. He posted a 330-minute which demonstrated how he managed to achieve this feat. 

The painstaking process was long and tedious and what's remarkable is that he managed to find room on the phone itself for the additional parts. He had to remove a “barometric vent” that aids in the phone gauge altitude, simply because he felt he did not care enough about the feature.

The video shows Allen adjusting his volume and pausing music with the control on the headphones. When he pulled out the headphones, the music stopped playing just like how it would in previous iPhones. 

So, if you were under the impression that a headphone jack could not be added to the iPhone 7, Allen just proved everyone wrong. We suggest you do not try this at home but hey! At least we know it's possible. You can watch Allen's video to see how he managed to add the headphone jack right here:
