Mini Unveils An All-Electric Concept That Mr. Bean Would Have Loved To Drive

It is not news that automobile makers are getting thoroughly prepped to join the electric vehicle (EV) race, but that one of the world's most beloved cars has also been testing its strength in electric waters, will surely come forth as a pleasant surprise.

We're telling you that Mini is now in the final stages of becoming a part of the growing EV domain and will be up for production by 2019. Ahead of it's unveiling at the Frankfort Motor Show, Mini has revealed shots of its all-electric concept, a successor to the already existing hybrid Mini E, and trust us when we say this, the new green Mini is a delightful sight for the eyes and we expect it to be enthralling drive.

Going by the moniker, Mini Electric Concept, this all-electric vehicle boasts of the iconic Mini design; three-door hatchback with a floating roof and round headlamps with metal trim, and it brings in fresh features like cross-shaped alloys, LED taillights seamlessly integrated door handles, a closed-ish grille with a circular insignia placed aesthetically toward the right and what looks like hints of vents behind the front wheel arches. The entirety of the EV in grey is contrasted with yellow accents that make it a love-at-first-sight vehicle.

Mini hasn't put light on the power specs of the Mini Electric Concept, but we can be sure they'll do a good job at it because this won't their first time with a purely EV powertrain. In 2008, Mini came out with 600 test vehicles for the what is today known as the BMW i3 powertrain. Since the BMW i3 has done well for itself, we can only expect a vastly improved powertrain to fuel this vehicle.

The price of the EV also hasn't been announced yet, either, but like most luxury EV's, it is expected to have baffling price tag.

Only a couple of days before we get the full download on what this baby can do. In the meantime, you can take a look at the teaser and tell us how you feel about the new electric Mini.
