Maryam Nawaz. Photo: File LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed on Tuesday a contempt of court petition against former premier Nawaz Sharif?s daughter Maryam Nawaz.
A citizen, Sadruddin, had submitted a petition in the LHC stating that Maryam, during her recent speeches while campaigning for the NA-120 by-election in Lahore, had criticised the Supreme Court?s July 28 judgment in the Panama Papers case.
Hearing the case on Tuesday, Justice Shahid Kareem had reserved his decision on the maintainability of the petition.
Maryam was running the campaign of the by-election for her mother Kulsoom Nawaz, who was the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz?s candidate and managed to win Sunday?s by-election.
