Contrary to the patriarchal nexus in Bollywood, Veere Di Wedding is one of the biggest all-female lead movies of the entertainment industry. But when women are working together, it unfortunately leads to major rumours and clichés about enmity and envy.

A similar controversy emerged regarding the latest film with strong female lead characters. An India media outlet claimed that ugly tiffs have appeared within the cast members, especially leading lady Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

Sonam, whose sister Rhea is co-producing the film with Ekta Kapoor, went on the defensive and wrote a note on her Twitter account, shooting down all the rumours about in-team catfights.

?Dear websites, you can put out as many ?blind items? as you like pitting women against each other, it may get you clicks but it won?t be the truth. Must you insist on shoving this tired patriarchal concept of women catfighting into our film (which is not about a road trip) as if grown, intelligent women have nothing better to do,? she said.

Apart from female producers, the movie includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in its women-led cast.
