RAWALPINDI: Joint Chief of Staff Committee Chairman General Zubair Mahmood Hayat attended Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in the United States, with the subject of countering the threat of violent extremism, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). 

The conference was attended by representatives from 75 countries.

Gen Hayat also met with Commander US Central Command Gen Joseph L. Votel and held bilateral meetings with the chiefs of defence staffs from Turkey and Brazil. 

Matters related to bilateral security interests and measures to improve the defence cooperation were discussed during the meeting, added the ISPR.
