NEW DELHI: The Indian government on Wednesday announced that it will repatriate 13 Pakistani prisoners held in Indian jails and transit camps.

According to sources, Pakistan's High Commission in New Delhi worked closely with the Indian Authorities for the release and repatriation of the prisoners.

Four civilians and nine fishermen will be handed over to Pakistani officials on November 2, 2017 via the Attari-Wagah border, the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi said.

The freed Pakistani nationals include Ms Mumtaz D/o Muhammad Siddique, Ms Fatima Bibi W/o Saii Ur Rehman, and her daughter Ms Hina.

The freed fishermen were handed over to the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Wagah border crossing on October 31, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

The fishermen, on the occasion, thanked the Pakistani government, it added.
