Supporters of religious parties have occupied a key route of Islamabad for over a week as part of a protest against the government over the change to the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat oath.

Protesters are calling for the resignation of Law Minister Zahid Hamid and action against others responsible. The government has stated that the change was a clerical error and has been rectified.

On Friday, protesters were given a final notice after defying an earlier order of the Islamabad High Court to disperse.Β
