KARACHI: Authorities said Friday night they had apprehended at least 21 people following a search operation carried out here in Awami Colony of the metropolis' Korangi area.

Earlier, police had disclosed they were conducting an operation in Awami Colony, Burmi Colony, and nearby areas, and that all entry and exit points were therefore sealed.

A door-to-door search was carried out and residents' documents were being verified during the process.

Security officials also said they were checking the identification documents of the suspects currently being held in custody.
