ISLAMABAD: The son of late Pakistan Muslim League-Functional leader Saira Naseer, whom he confessed to killing on Friday, has been sent to prison along with his wife on an eight-day judicial remand.

Husri police presented Fahad Shah and his wife Sadaf before a civil judge?s court today.

Shah complained to the judge about torture for obtaining the confessional statement, upon which the court ordered for the medical examination of the suspect.

According to police spokesman, Sindh Home Minister praised the work of SSP Hyderabad Pir M Shah and his team in solving the case and announced prize worth Rs200,000.

The son of late Saira Naseer on Thursday confessed to killing his own mother. In a detailed press conference, SSP Hyderabad Shah had traced the events that led to the murder of PML-F leader Saira Naseer.

On December 7, a woman?s charred body was found in a vehicle from Hyderabad?s Husri town, who was later identified through her belongings to be PML-N women wing?s leader Saira Naseer.

According to police investigation, Naseer was murdered and then was placed inside the vehicle, which was set ablaze to make it look like an accident.
