Virat Kohli's 'Gravity-Defying' Jumps Overshadow His Batting In Test-Series Loss

Over the years, Virat Kohli has established a reputation as one of the world's most consistent batsmen in international cricket. Despite being burdened with the responsibilities of a captain, the Dellhi dasher remains efficient in successfully carrying the baton for India's batting line-up in crunch situations.

The three-match Test series reflected the similar notion with Kohli leading the charge for India against a rampant South African brigade. He amassed 286 runs in three matches to emerge as the highest run-scorer in the recently-concluded series. While his knock of 153 runs in the second Test remains the highest individual score in the series, his pivotal innings of 54 and 41 in the third match on an extremely difficult surface showed his artistry with the willow.

However, despite his batting genius, it appears that Kohli's celebratory jumps while batting and fielding has impressed the fans more than his classy cover drives. The Indian skipper was seen leaping in the air after notching up an impressive hundred in the second Test, and then, in the final match of the series, he improved his leap further while celebrating AB de Villiers dismissal in the second innings.

Here's how fans have reacted to Virat Kohli's 'gravity-defying' celebratory jumps in the recently-concluded Test series:

All those Rahane runs saving India. And he wasn't even picked for the 1st two tests. This should be Kohli's lesson, once he lands on the ground after that celebratory jump.

Trailing 0-2 in the three-match series, Kohli-led India made a remarkable comeback to secure a 63-run win in the final game at the Wanderers. "This is one of our sweetest wins. This day will be remembered for a long time for us as a team," Kohli said.

"We already had the belief but now we have the result to back that as well. If we think about winning Test matches, yes, we will lose some but we will end up winning a lot as well," he added.

After losing the duel in Tests, India will now lock horns with the Proteas in the six-match One-Day International (ODI) series slated to begin from 1st February.
