Ravi Shastri Pads Up Again, Issues A Fresh Challenge To Virat Kohli

Following their Test series debacle, the Indian cricket team has done a commendable job to turn their campaign around in the ongoing six-match One-Day International (ODI) series against South Africa.

Riding on the back of a brilliant hundred by Virat Kohli, the visitors notched up a six-wicket win in the first ODI, while their wrist spinners - Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav - propelled them to a nine-wicket triumph in the next match.

Having beaten the opposition in almost every facet of the game, it's not hard to guess the mood in the Indian dressing room. A 2-0 lead in the series, India will be at ease when they lock horns with the Proteas in the third match today. But, ahead of their clash, the Indian captain has already been challenged off the field.

Yes, it's a Pad in my hand. Happy to support rockstar @akshaykumar for breaking the taboo and initiating an open conversation. AK, am sure no ball is going to hit PAD (MAN). #PadManChallenge Here I challenge @imVkohli @SinghaniaGautam @Leander pic.twitter.com/FXdK3py7gW

Coach Ravi Shastri joined the viral 'PadMan Challenge' after posing with a sanitary pad. Taking to Twitter, India's head coach shared a photo of himself where he was seen holding a pad in his hands. "Yes, it's a Pad in my hand. Happy to support rockstar @akshaykumar for breaking the taboo and initiating an open conversation. AK, am sure no ball is going to hit PAD (MAN). #PadManChallenge Here I challenge @imVkohli @SinghaniaGautam @Leander," he tweeted.

The 55-year-old also challenged other sports stars including Kohli and Leander Paes. But, it was his challenge to Kohli that caught the imagination of Twitter users. From taking a dig at the South African team to poking fun at Shastri, the twitterverse came up with funny takes on the Indian coach's tweet.

Southafrican players will be wondering what is wrong with Ravi is he ok hahaha
