If you are one of the richest people in the world, would you ever go and shop for everyday grocery items? HELL NO. You would obviously have people at your disposal to run these mere errands for you. So, it's pretty obvious that Bill Gates won't do otherwise.
For the first time ever, the Microsoft mogul made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and guess what he did? Apart from discussing things about his billionaire life, of course, Ellen basically just decided to embarrass him by making him guess the cost of common grocery store items. What a cruel woman you are Ellen!

Now, Gates might be excellent at a lot of things but if you ever want a person to accompany you for grocery shopping or maybe take part in a 'Grocery prices guessing' quiz, he isn't your man.

He was made to guess the prices of five everyday items, with a little help from the studio audience. But as expected he failed by a wide margin because his billionaire little heart will allow him to shell way more money out on a grocery item than it actually costs.
The first product was Rice-A-Roni, a food mix that consists of rice, vermicelli pasta, and seasonings and Bill guessed it to be $5 while the actual price is $1.

Next were Tide Pods. Yeah, the thing that is actually a laundry product but people have been eating as a part of a stupid challenge. While Bill guessed it must be between $4-$10, the actual price is $19.

Next up was dental floss and finally, Gates got this one right as he said $4 and was pretty close. But on the last two items, he failed, yet again.
The 4th item was Pizza Rolls and in Bill's world, they cost $22 while in our world its only $8.98. He did come down to $8 with the audience's help.

And the last one was plain ol' cheese dip. Now you might expect him to know this one because let's face it, every one of us has bought cheese dip at least once in their life. But then we forgot its Bill Gates we are talking about and the man might even have a room filled with cheese dip but still won't know or even care about the price.
He guessed the price to be around $10 while the real price was $3.66.

All in all, he failed at this little game because maybe, just maybe, his food does contain ingredients that are just as expensive as he predicted them to be.
