While the Indian cricket team is slugging it out in South Africa, their rivals across the border are engrossed in the third edition of the glittering Pakistan Super League (PSL). The popular T20 league began with a star-studded opening ceremony in Dubai on Thursday which was followed by a thrilling encounter between PSL franchises Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans.

But, despite US pop sensation Jason Derulo's starry performance during the opening ceremony and Kumar Sangakkara's match-winning fifty for Multan Sultans, it was Pakistani seamer Wahab Riaz who became the topic of great discussion.

The Peshawar Zalmi player was seen sporting a horseshoe moustache - a look that has been mastered by Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson over the years. His photo with the new facial hairdo has gone viral on the social media with fans across the globe sharing their opinion on Riaz's look.

During an interview, when asked about his new look, Riaz said: "I wish I can properly perform once again, in this PSL series, what I am known for — my character (role) as a fast bowler. I hope it keeps reminding me of who I am, what I have to do in this tournament and how I have to perform".

When asked if the style inspiration comes from Mitch, he said: See, it's good to be inspired by anyone for anything that benefits you and if I'm inspired by Mitchell, then I'd love to say thank you to him. I was quite scared and nervous when I came to the stadium because I knew people would take and share pictures (of my new style)".

Well, inspired or not, Riaz's new look has surely turned him into the talk of the town. But, unfortunately for the Pakistani bowler, the social media wasn't too kind.
