15-Year-Old Indian-Origin Girl Nailed Her American Idol Audition Leaving Katy Perry Shook

Isn't it always so wonderful to witness desi people thriving and making the country proud?

The latest one to do so is Alyssa Raghunandan, an Indian-origin teenager, who honestly killed it during her American Idol audition. The 15-year old floored the judges with a flawless performance and sailed through to the next round.

Leaving all the three judges - Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie - in absolute awe, she belted out Ariana Grande's 'Almost Is Never Enough' and honestly, she really couldn't have picked a better song. As soon as she started singing, it looked as if the judges already knew that she's the one with the potential to win this thing.

Katy Perry was also quick to point out that Alyssa sounded incredible for her age. She also had a very weird way of expressing how impressed she was with her. She said, “All of my hairs on my legs, I have to go and shave my legs now. They just grew an inch and a half, because I full-body felt what you were singing. I'm a believer in you!”

Okay, Katy.

And, well her performance got her the coveted ticket to Hollywood, with Lionel Richie saying, “I'm very excited to see where you're going to go.” Yes, we are excited too!

But, you know what was better than the audition? Her father's reaction when she came out and told him that she's made it. It's so pure and wholesome, it's just so heart-warming.

What a proud moment for a parent!

Here's the whole video, everyone needs to watch it, it's that good.

And, Alyssa, I don't watch American Idol, but now a lot of us have a reason to, and we're all rooting for you.
