On the back of scintillating football and some shocking results, UEFA Champions League found its semifinalists in Real Madrid, Liverpool, AS Roma and Bayern Munich. The likes of Manchester City, Juventus, Barcelona, and Sevilla bowed out in the pulsating quarterfinals stage paving way for the ultimate showdown between the last four teams standing.

Amid much hullabaloo, the Champions League semifinals draw was made with many expecting the final showdown between old dogs Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the coveted final. But, it wasn't meant to be as the two European heavyweights ended up drawing each other in the semifinals.

Subsequently, Liverpool - who continue to impress with every game under Jurgen Klopp - were drawn against AS Roma who recently ran riot in the quarterfinals stage, cutting a sorry figure for Spanish giants Barcelona with a sensational second-leg comeback.

Following the draw, it's quite obvious that the tie between Bayern and Madrid stands out and promises to be a closely-fought battle. However, given the recent form of these two sides, the clash between Liverpool and Roma - despite being an underdog battle - has all the makings of a blockbuster.
