How To Really Do No-Efforts Dressing, CC: Shuchir Suri

Sometimes, flaunting the biggest menswear flex doesn't need to be your style-aim for the day. "I rather look turnt up all day, man" — isn't the most practical approach towards fashion. 'Smart dressing' is. Think of the setting/situation you're stepping into, work towards an occasion-appropriate ensemble, give a slight (or more) thought and slip into the most realistic, gut-induced choices. Don't be a try-hard.

Taking this exact theory forward, let's bring in the concept of no-efforts dressing; the most simplified (but smartest) way of slipping into your everyday gear.

Owner of magically-blessed taste buds and also, flag-bearer of a self-acquired business acumen, Shuchir Suri too, is an ardent supporter of no-efforts dressing. But while he may say 'no-efforts', that's unfortunately, not the truth of his dressing abilities. Because after all, 'no-efforts' is the result of careful thought and sartorial efforts towards looking a certain way.

Let's break this down.

As seen on Suri here, he's gone for a checked shirt + a pair of black jeans + trainers for his stunt for '31 Days of Denim' for us today.

Thought #1: He's gone all-classic, by picking a safe checked shirt. He's a conservative dresser.

Thought #2: His black jeans may be wardrobe staples and owned by every man in the world, but the fit is a nail. In fact, they've also been folded right (notice a bigger-than-usual fold).

Thought #3: Trainers are all-day shoes. And since Shuchir falls into the category of 'chilled-out dudes', we're not surprised with his throw-in of Athleisure here.

Thought #4: The over-all palette of the ensemble is quite conservative, with traces of tints and tones of yellow.

Final Thought: The over-all rhapsody looks quite refined.

Notice how his choices may be global staples and everyday essentials, but there's a lot of refinement involved in how they've been styled. Now that's key: he's had a game plan towards making the outfit look a certain way.

For one, Suri picked a checked shirt here — one of the biggest prophets of no-efforts dressing. Something, that may be classic and safe, but looks supremely spiffy and has a variant for every body type. He has anyway nailed the fit of it, complete with a slight fold on the sleeve. His jeans, as we said, are conservative as hell sure, but fit him like second skin. Attaboy!

However, with the trainers coming as part of the combo, suddenly, we're also seeing a lot of ease in this ensemble. Now that's the hack to take any outfit into the 'no-efforts' domain. Using separates that aren't usually seen in the most formal/semi-formal settings and exude more of relaxed/on-the-go vibes; are what will define your no-brainer aesthetic in life.

All summed up, the key to no-efforts dressing lies in your outfit-accompaniments. Slip into whatever the hell you want and throw in practical accessories to lend an eased-out appeal. The simplest way to do this: take cues from Athleisure-inspired nuances.

'31 Days Of Denim' is a social experiment of sorts, or in layman terms, the ultimate Denim guide, on how to inject your personality, and inherent sense of self into, say, a basic-ass pair of jeans. Bonus: It features the finest men in the capital, all with very distinct style sensibilities, but primarily, each having an innate love for all things denim.
