Diljit Dosanjh is an unstoppable one-man army, who is delivering some of the finest performances both in the music and film industry right now. And the latest feather in his cap of achievements, is his upcoming ambitious biopic 'Soorma', where he is playing the character of Indian hockey legend Sandeep Singh.

The teasers, trailers and the songs of the movie, that is releasing this week, have already intrigued us and taken our excitement to a pinnacle. Only time will tell how Diljit and Taapsee Pannu manage to capture our hearts with their performance.

Ahead of the release of 'Soorma', Diljit visited Sandeep Singh's hometown Shahabad in Haryana and met his family. In fact, he also visited the hockey turf where Singh practices. He received a special gift from Singh's father that probably made his day – Sandeep Singh's personal hockey stick.

For any musician, his instruments are the most precious thing in the world. Similarly for any sportsperson, the equipments they play with are the closest to their heart and for Sandeep Singh, aka Flicker Singh, things were no different. 

According to a report in The Times Of India, it is the same hockey stick that Sandeep Singh was carrying when he met with the accident that changed his life, and also during the time he was paralyzed.

Diljit posted on his social media thanking the family for this sweet gesture and wrote, “Es Ke Layek Toh Nahi Mai Lekin Maa Ka PYAR TO NALAYEK BACHE KE LIYE BHI SAME HOTA HAI.”

'Soorma' is slated to release on July 13 and will touch base with the inspiring story of Sandeep Singh, whose legendary comeback continues to inspire and motivate people to never give up and lose hope.
