AIB Apologises For Failing To Take Action Against Utsav Chakraborty

On Friday, AIB (All India Bakchod) released a fresh statement where they apologised for working with Utsav Chakraborty, despite being aware of these accusations, way before things blew out of proportion. In the statement, AIB accepted that Tanmay Bhat learnt about the allegations against Utsav and even confronted him about the same, but they continued to work with him.

Allegations of sexual harassment made against comedian Utsav, and him accepting all of them, has sent shockwaves across the nation. It all started last evening, when a woman accused Utsav of sending sexually explicit and obscene messages and asking for nudes from women, some of whom were minor.

Amidst this controversy, it was AIB that came under the radar and started receiving a lot of backlash for working with Utsav. On Thursday, they released a statement condemning Utsav's behaviour, post the allegations. They even delisted all the videos featuring Utsav from their channels.

"Some time after Utsav had stopped being an AIB employee, Tanmay Bhat received specific, detailed allegations about him in a private and personal conversation. Tanmay confronted Utsav in a personal capacity - which led to Utsav calling the victim, leading to further harassment. At the time, the accuser did not wish to pursue any further legal action. Out of respect for the person's privacy, nobody else at AIB was informed of the specifics of the situation, and the matter ended there," the statement read.

They wrote "we're sorry" and "we messed up" and believe they should have cut off ties with him immediately. AIB further apologised for not taking any action on the basis of the information they had.
