In An Epic FOMO Moment Russian Su-27 Fighter Photobombs United States Bombers In Europe

There’s nothing like being afraid of missing out on a party. Our worst nightmare most probably involves all our friends getting together and not inviting us to the raddest shindig in town.

This has evolved into something completely different in today’s world where everyone has a powerful digital camera on their smartphones. It’s called “photobombing.”

Here are three of the funniest photo bombs of last week:

#1 When Elmo decided to get in on the action during the UK election.

#2  When a squirrel decided to join in on a couple’s photo

#3 When a train conductor got bored of his job and decided to pose for a photograph

In recent memory, even Arnold Schwarzenegger and Justin Trudeau have photobombed unsuspecting people.

But here we’re talking about a photo bomb on a level which is so intense you’re actually glad it didn’t cause an international incident. Or maybe it did and we don’t know about it. Either way, World War III hasn’t started yet so we’ll consider ourselves safe. For now.

Here’s the picture which caused all the commotion:

A picture I took of a Russian "flanker" fighter on the tail of a @usairforce B-52 bomber over the Baltic Sea today—I was onboard a KC-135 pic.twitter.com/pGbawrCM30

That is an image of a B-52 bomber flying over the Baltic Sea. What would have made for a nice photograph to show the folks at home turned into one of the most epic photo bombs in international relations. Notice the Russian Su-27 (Flanker) at the edge of the photograph?

This occurred during a BALTOPS training exercise where all the U.S. bombers were in Europe for the first time since 2009.

Luckily, there were no reports of dangerous flying from the Russian pilot.

Before you go, here’s a video of what these Su-27 jets can really do:
