I just worry I’ll get a bad bunch of vegetables.

زیادہ تر جوڑے یہی کوشش کرتے ہیں کہ کم سے کم تکرار ہو، چھوٹی چھوٹی باتوں پر جھگڑا نہ ہو اور شامیں سہانی گزریں۔ لیکن پھر آخر لڑائیاں ہوتی کیوں ہیں؟ اس حساس سوال پر بلجیم میں حال ہی میں دو تحقیقات ہوئی ہیں۔ ان کے نتائج جواب تلاش کرنے میں مدد فراہم کرتے ہیں۔ ان میں سے ایک تحقیق کا محور وہ ضروریات تھیں جو پوری نہ ہونے سے میاں بیوی کے درمیان تنازعات جنم لیتے ہیں۔ یہ کام گائل وانہی اور ان کے ساتھیوں نے کیا۔

محققین کو معلوم ہوا کہ مذکورہ انسانی تعلق میں جب مندرجہ ذیل ضروریات پوری نہیں ہوتیں تو جوڑے زیادہ لڑتے ہیں۔

وابستگی: زندگی میں جن افراد کو اہم گردانا جاتا ہے ان سے مضبوط تعلق ایک ضرورت ہوتا ہے۔ کسی سے اظہارِ وابستگی (اٹیچمنٹ) کیسے کرنا ہے، یہ کافی حد تک ہم بچپن میں سیکھ لیتے ہیں۔ کسی سے مناسب انداز میں وابستگی کو ظاہر کرنا مضبوط اور طویل المدت تعلق قائم کرنے میں انتہائی معاون ہوتا ہے۔ جس تعلق میں وابستگی کا عنصر شامل ہو وہ زیادہ تسلی بخش، قریبی اور گہرا ہوتا ہے اور اس کے خاتمے کا امکان بھی کم ہوتا ہے۔

قبولیت: جب یہ احساس ہوتا ہے کہ دوسرے فرد میں قبولیت کا جذبہ موجود ہے تو تعلقات اچھے ہونے لگتے ہیں۔ قبولیت کا مطلب دوسرے کی سب باتوں کو مان لینا نہیں۔ ہم کسی فرد کے کچھ فیصلوں یا اس کے کسی انتخاب سے اختلاف کر سکتے ہیں، لیکن ساتھ ہی ہم اس کا بھرم رکھتے ہیں اور بیشتر کو تسلیم کر لیتے ہیں۔ ازدواجی زندگی میں قبولیت بہت اہم ہوتی ہے۔ یعنی بہت سی صورتوں میں اپنے جیون ساتھی سے اختلاف کے باوجود اس کی بات کو تسلیم کرنا ہوتا ہے۔

توجہ: محض اختلاف کو قبول کرنا کافی نہیں ہوتا، جیون ساتھی یہ بھی چاہتا ہے کہ دوسرا اسے پسند کرے۔ جیون ساتھی رشتے کی حدت کو پانا چاہتا ہے۔ صرف یہ کہنے سے بات نہیں بنتی کہ میں تمہاری بیشتر خامیوں کو قبول کرتا ہوں۔

خود مختاری: انسان کی ایک اہم ضرورت اپنے اعمال کے فیصلے خود کرنے کا اختیار ہے۔ ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ جو ہم کرنا چاہتے ہیں وہ کر سکیں۔ مذکورہ تحقیق سے معلوم ہوا ہے کہ سب سے زیادہ عدم اطمینان ان جوڑوں میں پایا جاتا ہے جن میں دونوں میں سے کوئی ایک دوسرے کو کنٹرول کرنے کی کوشش کرتا ہے اور اس کی خودمختاری کو کم کرتا ہے۔

قابلیت: یہ احساس ہونا چاہیے کہ ہم جو کچھ کرتے ہیں وہ اچھی طرح کرتے ہیں۔ اس طرح ہم خود کو قابل سمجھتے ہیں۔ لیکن اگر میاں بیوی میں سے کوئی ایک کسی شعبے میں مسابقت میں پیچھے ہو تو یہ تعلق میں عدم توازن اور بالآخر کشیدگی کی وجہ بنتا ہے۔ اگر شریک حیات میں سے کوئی دوسرے کو نالائق سمجھتا ہے تو تعلقات میں بگاڑ آ سکتا ہے۔ اگر جوڑوں میں یہ مندرجہ بالا ضروریات پوری نہ ہوں تو منفی احساسات جنم لیتے ہیں۔ اس سے تنازعات کو بڑھاوا ملتا ہے۔ مثال کے طور پر کسی پر سخت تنقید کرنے یا رد کرنے سے دوسرے کو لگتا ہے کہ اسے قبول نہیں کیا جا رہا۔ اس سے شرمندگی اور اداسی پیدا ہو سکتی ہے۔ ان احساسات کا اظہار زیادہ تر براہ راست نہیں ہوتا اور پھر یہ غصے کی شکل اختیار کر لیتے ہیں۔ تب اس سے منفی گفتگو شروع ہو جاتی ہے جس سے تنازع بڑھ جاتا ہے۔

اب سوال یہ ہے کہ شریک حیات کی ان ضروریات کو کیسے پورا کیا جائے۔ اس کی ابتدا یوں کی جا سکتی ہے کہ شریک حیات ہی سے پوچھ لیا جائے۔ ہو سکتا ہے اس نے اس بارے میں سوچا نہ ہو لیکن کم ازکم اسے یہ پیغا م ضرور ملے گا کہ اس کے بارے میں فکر کی جارہی ہے۔ اپنی ضروریات پر بھی غور کریں اور اس بات پر کہ تعلق میں کون سا عنصر غائب ہے۔ پھر ان پر مثبت انداز میں باہمی گفتگو کریں۔

١۔ اگر آپ  کے بچے مٹی کھاتے ہیں تو انہیں تھوڑی سیمینٹ بھی کھلا دیں تاکہ بنیاد پکی ہوجائے۔😂😂😂
