Ayushmann Khurrana always picks movies that get the conversation going about topics that are often brushed under the carpet, ignored or avoided.
Be it erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan or old age pregnancy in Badhai Ho.
His latest one Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui touches upon the struggles of the transgender community which often go unaddressed and unnoticed by Indian society.

In the movie, he plays a bodybuilder who falls in love with a zumba teacher, who he later finds out is a trans woman. He is dejected and upset with her for lying and behaves in a classic way that most people do. There is much ignorance and unawareness regarding trans people in India which results in people shunning them, disrespecting them and what not.

Ayushmann recently recalled how he himself reacted when he first came to know about the trans community and how he grew to be more empathetic. He said, “Though I belong to a conservative family, my parents were progressive. In the mid-90s, there were two girls in a hostel, who came to my father. One of them wanted to undergo this operation and become a guy.”

He said his father told them to go to a gynaecologist who shunned them for ‘going against nature’. After which, he suggested they go to a bigger city like Mumbai and get the operation done. “Now they have been married for the last 20-25 odd years,” he added.

He said he was surprised and couldn’t believe it. “So, I knew about the trans community when I was 13. It was a great induction for me. Though I was also shocked ki aise thode hi hota hai papa (That's now how things are),” he said honestly and added, “My father also didn’t know that there would be an operation and it would be successful. That was the first eye-opener for me that this community exists and thinks this way.”

He said he has become more empathetic than he was before and even then he acknowledged their struggles. “Empathy was always there since childhood. But it takes time. We have grown a lot. We are learning every day,” he said.

If you have been following Bollywood closely, you would have an idea that it was hard for two female actors to maintain a cordial relationship and it was a very rare thing to see the friendship between two actresses. It might be a common sighting now that two actresses are perfectly okay with working with each other. Back in 2001, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu got into an ugly spat. The nasty showdown saw a lot of mudslingings and if reports are to be believed, they even slapped each other.
View this post on Instagram
It all started with Bipasha's Bollywood debut, Ajnabee (2001), which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan. Rumours of the two leading ladies having a fight over their costumes made headlines, even before the film's release.
Apparently, it all went downhill when Bebo's designer gave Bipasha a helping hand without the former's consent. The two had a war of words and reportedly, Kareena called Bipasha a ‘kaali billi (black cat)’ and even slapped her.
Bipasha told Filmfare in 2001, "I think this is a case of making a mountain out of a molehill. There were never any problems with me. She had some problems with the designer. I don't know why I was pulled in. It was quite childish." She had also said that she did not want to ever work with Kareena again. She added, "I will not work with Kareena again. Because you either get along with people or you don't. I believe that if you get along with people off-screen, you gel with them onscreen. I didn't have any interaction with her, so I don't know. I don't think I would like to do a film with Kareena again. Because at the end of the day I want to have fun."

Kareena bashed Bipasha in an interview with Filmfare in 2002. She had said, "She just doesn't seem to have any confidence in her own talent. In a four-page interview, she spoke about me for three pages. Why not talk about your work? I think her only claim to fame is that she fought with me during Ajnabee over her dress designer Vikram Phadnis. She's given statements that I called her uncharitable names. Now, that's a figment of her imagination."
Well, the two did confront each other at an award ceremony (IIFA) in 2014. Kareena was accompanied by her husband Saif Ali Khan. According to a Mid-Day report, there was a moment when Kareena shared the stage with Bipasha. At that time, both the actresses stood at extreme ends on the dais whereas Saif, Anil Kapoor, and Madhuri Dixit were in the middle.
There was a moment in the event when the paps caught them kissing. As per reports, they both came forward to kiss each other on cheeks but landed up giving a peg on lips by mistake and it was captured by the photographers at the event. The pictures of it went viral.
Here are a few pictures:

Well, it’s great to see that the two have let bygones be bygones.

It takes a lot of time, effort and the right people to make a movie and turn a raw idea into a cinematic piece.
The filmmaker makes sure every person involved fits right into the frame and character he or she is playing. Especially if it’s a film based on a real-life story of an influential personality.
Kabir Khan also wanted the perfect actor to play Kapil Dev in his biopic 83 and as we all know, he chose Ranveer Singh to essay the role.

Anyone who has watched the trailer of sports drama 83 can see the uncanny mannerisms and the exact look Ranveer has managed to portray of the former Indian cricket team captain. It is now clear that no one could play him better.
© Instagram/Kabir Khan
However, there were rumours going on for years that another actor was the first choice to play the part. It was Arjun Kapoor who, according to the rumours, was approached for the film and was supposed to play Kapil Dev.

However, the director of the film, Kabir Khan has finally addressed the rumours and cleared the air once and for all. He said, “Ye ek gut and instinct hota hai (it’s a gut and instinct). Ever since I was asked to make the film, I had only Ranveer on my mind. Ranveer is a chameleon. See his last 4 films and you feel there’s a different human being in each of them. I knew Ranveer would be a perfect choice. I told him it’s not a look-alike contest, you need to imbibe Kapil’s persona.”

He further added, “83 is a big responsibility for me. I knew if I don’t recreate this correctly, the country will not forgive me. Ditto for Ranveer: If he won’t portray Kapil correctly, the audience will not forgive him. And as you see from the trailer, he has done it brilliantly. He worked very hard," he said, praising the actor.

Arjun was also asked about the same in 2017 during an interview to which he had said, “This is not my film, it’s a film made for India. It is a very important film for the country. I don’t want to trivialise it by talking about the personal aspect of it. That is not necessary,” he said.

Well, he isn’t wrong. And, every Indian and cricket fan would agree that Ranveer Singh, who eventually bagged the role, did an amazing job at it.

Riteish and Genelia Dekhmukh are one of most adorable and admired couples of Bollywood. If you follow either or both of them on Instagram, you would know they set some serious couple goals with their goofy IG reels, social media PDA and heartwarming photos.
© Instagram/Riteish Deshmukh
The couple went from co-stars to best friends straight into a relationship and tied the knot after 10 years of being together in 2012. They have been married for almost a decade now and have two beautiful kids, Riaan and Rahyl. Their love story is no less than a fairy tale.

However, there was a time when Genelia Dekhmukh almost broke down and it was not long after the couple got married. She recently shared what annoyed her everyday for a month after she became a Deshmukh bahu.

She said that she dressed up every morning in traditional clothes although no one asked her to. “When I got married, I thought it was a norm. Every morning, I would come dressed up and I would get irritated, that why do I have to dress up,” she said on an episode of season 2 of the game show ‘Ladies vs Gentlemen’.

Riteish said he had no idea why she was dolling up in salwar kameez and jewellery every morning. “Maine socha kuch pooja-vooja hoga jo mujhe pata nahi hai (I thought there would be some prayer ceremony that I don’t know of),” he said.

Genelia then said, “One day, I broke down. I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ He was confused, he was like, ‘What are you doing?’ I was like, ‘I can’t dress up like this every day.’ He said, ‘I am also wondering why you are dressing up like this every day!’”.

So, it was all a misunderstanding in Genelia’s head and she could also sit in comfy clothes at breakfast just like her husband, which she probably did after that day when she let it out. That’s why communication is key for a happy married life.

Neo aka John Wick aka the ‘nicest guy in Hollywood’, Matrix lead actor and Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is a legend on his own and a man who needs no introduction.
But if one were to be given to him, I think it’s safe to say that it would be along the lines of him being the most charming and considerate actor in the industry.
A fact that was recently corroborated by actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas who would be soon seen playing alongside the actor in the upcoming movie - The Matrix Resurrections.
© Twitter
During a Red Table Talk by Jada Pinkett Smith, Keanu Reeves along with actors like Carrie-Anne Moss and Priyanka Chopra were invited to celebrate the 100th episode of RTT.
As half the cast of The Matrix Resurrections got together and gabbed, the topic about just how amazing Keanu is, both as an actor and as a person, came up and obviously people agreed.
While they were on the topic, Jade turned to Keanu and asked him what he felt about the title being given to him by his fans and co-stars. She asked, “Keanu, everyone says you’re Hollywood’s nicest guy, and you’re such a giving person. What do you do to give to yourself?”
An important question to ask for someone who managed to break the norms of being success and wealth-driven in the industry, as he’s always been humble and committed to his craft.
© Twitter
Of course, like any other person who doesn’t know what to do when they receive a compliment, Reeves bent over and buried his head in his legs, blushing. And while that went for a while, because how does one even respond to such a question, Keanu eventually managed to give the most wholesome answer to this question.
With a coy smile on his face, Reeves said, “Let’s go for motorcycle ride, let’s read. I love going to the movies. For me, my work is that as well. I often sometimes get asked, ‘You know, you’ve been at this for a while’, and they’re like, ‘Do you still love it?’ “And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I love it even more’. For me, work is life.”
© Twitter
Now, how often do you see a star such as himself be so grounded and appreciate the simpler things in life?
Clearly, Priyanka Chopra wasn’t lying when she narrated her tale about Keanu Reeves being a pillar of strength. He truly is the stuff legends are made of.
