Ajaz Patel, the Mumbai-born spinner, playing for New Zealand, created history at Wankhede Stadium as he joined the elite list bowlers to have taken 10 wickets in a Test innings.
The Kiwis left-arm-spinner achieved this incredible feat on Day 2 of the second Test against India and became only the third bowler in the history of the sport after Jim Laker and our very own Anil Kumble (Anil Kumble) to take a 10-wicket haul in a Test innings.
A new entrant into the / club today

After picking up four wickets on the opening day of the series decider in Mumbai, Patel continued to trouble the Indian batters on Day 2 and dismissed the next six batters to complete the massive milestone.
Interestingly, all three bowlers who have achieved this feat on a cricket field have been spinners. Laker was an off-spinner, Kumble used to bowl leg-spin and now Patel has joined the list by spinning the web around Indian batters with his left-arm spin.
Incredible achievement as Ajaz Patel picks up all 10 wickets in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test.

    — BCCI (@BCCI) December 4, 2021 Talking about the mode of dismissals, he disturned the timber of two batters, trapped three players in front, while the rest were caught in the outfield, including Mohammed Siraj who was the last batter to fall after his miscued hoick was caught comfortably at mid-on by another Indian-origin player Rachin Ravindra.

Patel, whose family moved to New Zealand in search for better opportunities, did his parents proud with his magical bowling at his “second home” that saw him picking all 10 wickets for 110 runs from his 47.5 overs.
Only the third bowler to claim all 10 wickets in an innings in the history of Test cricket

    — ICC (@ICC) December 4, 2021 After Patel joined the special club, wishes poured in from all quarters. Congratulating the Kiwis bowler, Kumble lauded his “special effort” and wrote: “Welcome to the club #AjazPatel #Perfect10  Well bowled! A special effort to achieve it on Day1 & 2 of a test match. #INDvzNZ.”
Wonderful wonderful achievement and such a beautiful story. Delighted for you #AjazPatel.
    — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) December 4, 2021 Former India head coach Ravi Shastri also took to the micro-blogging site to congratulate the left-arm orthodox for achieving the toughest milestone in cricket.
One of the toughest things to do in the game of cricket. To have an entire team in your kitty in an innings is too good to be true. Simply unreal. Well done young man - Ajaz Patel #INDvzNZ #AjazPatel pic.twitter.com/M81eUeSrX4

    — DK (@DineshKarthik) December 4, 2021Speaking about playing an international matc for the first time in a city where he was born, Patel had said “this is what dreams are made of”. But even he wouldn’t have anticipated doing something like this and making the whole world stand and applaud. It proves that some things are just destined to happen.
    Take a bow Ajaz Patel!

Looks like it's finally happening! Yes, we're talking about the most talked about wedding this year - that of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif. While everyone has been looking for details about the super secret event (the paps are trying their best tbh), people also want to know how and when this rather unexpected love story began.

While there has been no official information from the subjects themselves, it looks like the beginning of this love story may have been back in early 2019, when the world was a 'normal place', without the all-encompassing, unwanted presence of a pandemic. Vicky and Katrina had appeared for an interview together for the first time, and had an honest, heart to heart conversation that was relatable to the masses despite them being 'superstars' - a rarity amidst the glam and glitz of Bollywood.

There was no moderator present, which was perfect in hindsight as that allowed them to have a conversation directly with each other. While both of them are as different as chalk and cheese in the realm of movies, one look at their chemistry and it would be clear that both are actually extremely sorted, down-to-earth individuals who are completely attuned to their respective emotions and aspirations.

While Katrina was her polished, well-spoken self, Vicky exuded the goofy, guy-next-door vibe who is honest about his roots, and watching them share details about their lives with each other, inside and outside of work, was absolutely heartwarming. There were some lighthearted BTS moments also, like this one here.

Their chemistry was palpable right from the get-go, when Vicky referred to the poem 'If' by Rudyard Kipling while explaining how he views personal success and failure, and as soon as he named the poem, Katrina ended up quipping the gist of that particular line Vicky was referring to.

At one point during the interview, Vicky also mentions that his mother is extremely perceptive, and just gets to know if something is wrong with him just by looking at his walk, and how that keeps him grounded. Katrina responds by saying: "She sounds like a wise woman!".
Take a look at the interview here.

Ahead of the second Test match between India and England, Mayank Agarwal was not sure whether he would find a place in the Playing XI or be dropped on the bench. But as luck would have it, India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane got injured (well that’s what BCCI is saying) and Mayank retained his place in the starting XI for the series decider at the Wankhede Stadium.
That moment when @mayankcricket got to his 4th Test Century

And boy did he make it count. He smashed his fourth Test hundred and proved his critics wrong. Batting on a tricky pitch that had something in it for the spinners from Day 1, the Karnataka opener showed great temperament and resolve and in the end reaped the reward.

He faced nearly 250 deliveries on a rain-curtailed day that saw the morning session completely wiped out and reached the three-figure milestone in the final session.
Those observing from the outside could notice a visible change in his stance that perhaps helped him get back to his best and dominate the bowlers. After the opening day’s play, Agarwal acknowledged that he did make a slight adjustment to how he held the bat on the advice of batting legend Sunil Gavaskar.

After Agarwal failed in both the innings of Kanpur Test, Gavaskar advised him to keep his backlift a little low early on in his innings and adopt a more side-on stance.

“Sunny sir (Gavaskar ) told me that I should keep my bat a bit low initially in my innings. I couldn't make that adjustment in this short period of time but definitely, when he was saying that, I looked at his shoulder position and basically picked up that I need to be more side-on,” Mayank said during the post-match press conference after stumps on Day 1.
Speaking about the conversation that he had with Agarwal after the Kanpur Test, Gavaskar, who was commentating on the match clarified that the opener didn’t come up to him seeking his counsel but he still gave his advice.

“Let me clarify. He didn't seek my counsel, I imposed myself on him. Look, I care for Indian cricket. He was walking past me and was staying in the same hotel, so I told him maybe you should try something. I don't know whether he is trying it. It looks like he is. But look, at the end of the day, it's about how strong you are mentally and he has shown he is very strong mentally,” Gavaskar said while on air for Star Sports.

Given his legendary status, the ‘Little Master’ didn’t need to reach out to the player and share his inputs but still he did that out of his love for Indian cricket and wanted the team and players to do well.

More than his cricketing achievements, it’s incredible gestures like these that make people admire him so much and further strengthen his legendary status.
