Be it the 90s kids or people from the current generation, we all are somewhere influenced by the stories of Ramayana. We have seen the show on TV numerous times but now, we will see a Bollywood version of it. Director Nitesh Tiwari is set to direct the trilogy, which will be shot in 3D. The live-action films, produced by Madhu Mantena, will be made in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
If reports are to be believed, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor are set to play the roles of Ram and Raavan in Nitesh Tiwary’s magnum opus Ramayana. Reportedly, the movie is on a massive budget of Rs 750 crore. As a report in Bollywood Hungama, Hrithik and Ranbir are getting an insane remuneration for the characters. According to reports by Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the production has claimed both Hrithik and Ranbir will be paid Rs 75 crores each. Well, this is surely insane.

The source added, “The rest of the budget will go into making the kind of staggering epic that the Ramayan has never been treated to before.”
Talking about Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari told PTI, “Ramayana is magical. It is something that we have not seen from an Indian maker. It has got a lot of magical qualities to it and the kind of forest we had, you had animals talking to us, this was something which is wonderful and it allows you to have the potential to present beautifully on screen a world that you have not seen before. It is a prep-heavy film. It is very tough but gratifying if you can get it right, as you have the technology to do it.”

He went on to add, “What makes it challenging is how do you tell a story to a six-year-old and retain the faith of a 60-year-old. That is why it is taking time. You have to strike a balance. My nine-year-old kid has to find it exciting, they are fans of Avengers. At the same time, it needs to be exciting for my mother-in-law at a level where she would be like I have not seen Ramayana in this form. It is a big challenge.”
He also said that he is planning to make Ramayana in an entertaining manner without being preachy. “When I say entertain, I don't mean to make people chuckle or laugh because that kind of stuff is not there in Ramayana. But the execution is also entertaining. The ultimate aim is to keep them glued to their seats," the Dangal director said.
It will be interesting to see Hrithik and Ranbir sharing the big screen.

Every individual out there probably has a different meaning of ‘making it big’ in their life.
For some, it may be to own a luxury they only ever dreamt of, for others it can be achieving career success while for some it can be seeing themselves in a certain role or at a position.

One would like to think for the actors in our industry, despite simply giving blockbuster hits and earning millions, the idea would be to move on from their Bollywood dream to their California Dream. Much like global superstar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas. But turns out, not every actor in Bollywood who got the chance to make it big in Hollywood, actually took that leap of faith.

Bollywood Actors Who Rejected Hollywood OffersHere is a list of Bollywood actors who rejected roles offered to them from Hollywood:
    1. Irrfan Khan - 'Interstellar' © Irrfan Khan
While the actor did make appearances in several other Hollywood films including The Amazing Spider-Man, Slumdog Millionaire, Life Of Pi, Inferno and more.

He allegedly turned down a major role offered to him in the Oscar-nominated film Interstellar. Turns out, the role first went to Irrfan Khan and after he rejected it, it was passed on to Matt Damon.
    2. Deepika Padukone - 'Furious 7' © Paramount Pictures
Before the ace actress was part of the XXX: The Return Of The Xander alongside Vin Diesel, Deepika Padukone was offered a role in the famous Fast and Furious franchise.

During the casting of Furious 7, which also turned out to be Paul Walker’s last film, Deepika was approached for a part which she refused because she was busy shooting for Happy New Year! at the time.
    3. Govinda - 'Avatar' © Govinda
A piece of news that broke out after the film was released left a lot of people surprised.

Turns out, Bollywood actor Govinda was offered a role by James Cameron for Avatar. Not only was Avatar the highest-grossing film but also received worldwide acclaim.
Govinda shared how he was also the one to suggest Cameron name his movie Avatar.
    4. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - 'Troy' © Columbia Pictures
The actress who had appeared in movies like Pink Panther 2 and Bride and Prejudice, was also offered the role for the high priestess Briseis, opposite Brad Pitt in the hit film Troy.

Turns out, the actress rejected the offer to work in the movie because she was not comfortable with the intense make-out scenes written in the script for her character.
    5. Shah Rukh Khan - 'Slumdog Millionaire' © Shah Rukh Khan
The Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was allegedly offered the role of ‘Prem Kumar’ the game show host in the movie Slumdog Millionaire, which went on to be nominated for and won at the Oscars.

However, Shah Rukh Khan turned down the role and it was later passed on to actor Anil Kapoor.
    6. Naseeruddin Shah - 'Harry Potter' © Naseeruddin Shah
One of the most shocking names on the list has to be of the veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s simply because he allegedly turned down a role of a lifetime.

The actor was offered to play the famous role of ‘Albus Dumbledore’ in the popular movie Harry Potter but didn't go through with it because he had an issue with being auditioned.
The iconic role ultimately fell in the lap of Richard Harris.

Diwali should come twice a year. Or thrice.
If there was a way to sign a petition and make it happen, we would. It is the most exciting time of the year and it’s unfair that the festival only comes once every year.
However, the good thing is, it is right around the corner and we can’t keep calm.

It’s less than a month for Diwali and we are sure the preparations for the biggest festival have already begun at your place.

You know, the wall painting in the house, shopping, cleaning and buying Diwali gifts for your loved ones.
But these are just a few of the things that remind us of Diwali. There is so much more to it and so many feelings connected to this festival that resurface as Diwali arrives.

Here are 10 things that happen in every desi house during Diwali which makes the festival what it is:

    1. Overdosing On 'Kaju Katli' © iStock
Don’t call yourself a desi if you don’t sit groaning in stomach pain after hogging on a couple of dozen kaju katlis in one go.

This happens every Diwali and still, we never learn.
These rhombus-shaped devils of sweetness are more addictive than any drug in the world, no kidding!
    2. Fights During Card GamesYou find out how competitive you are as a player while playing card games on Diwali.
Although it is auspicious to play and brings prosperity, by the end of it, everyone is either crying or arguing. But that’s the fun of it, isn’t it?
    3. Endless Transfer Of 'Soan Papdi' Is it even Diwali if you haven’t been disappointed seeing a box of soan papdi and gift wrapped it again to give it to the next house you visit?
Serious question though, if no one likes soan papdi, who’s buying them and why?
    4. The Excitement Of Lighting Up The House © iStock
The whole city is lit AF, quite literally so. Adorning the house with those fairy lights is the best thing about Diwali.

Also, we secretly rank houses on our streets on the basis of their decoration skills and choices of lights. Funny musical lights get no points.
    5. The Swach Ghar Abhiyan Desi moms go into the ‘clean and discard useless items’ mode a few weeks before Diwali and if you are found sitting idle during this time, you’d very likely be discarded too.
You clean the entire house, every nook and corner, lest you want an earful from your mom and dad.
    6. Comforting Your PetThose who have pets, especially dogs, this is one very important part of the festival for them.
While you don’t mind comforting your pup all night, you secretly wish to go and lash out at those who are burning firecrackers non-stop until 3 am.
    7. Meeting Relative & Friends © iStock
It doesn’t feel like Diwali unless and until your whole clan gathers at one place, kids run around and you all exchange gifts and sweets.

You click photos with your cousins and step out to visit your friends’ place and there’s a quick meet and greet with their parents before you take a stroll in the well-lit streets.
    8. Endless ShoppingDiwali shopping is the real struggle.
While there are so many good and tempting deals going on, you feel overwhelmed with all the shopping for diyas, kandils and a million other things on the list that need to be bought, and on time.
    9. The Amateur Rangoli Competition  © iStock
This is one day where we wish we were in the HR department and had some mad rangoli making skills.

Everyone brings out the artist in them to make the most creative, colourful and beautiful rangoli. After all, it’s an unsaid competition between neighbours to see who makes the best rangoli.
    10. HomecomingMost of us have been working from home due to the pandemic, but booking flights in advance, applying for leaves and coming back home from hostels, work city and literally anywhere was the ultimate happiness about this festival.

And, then the post-Diwali blues follows. Until next year!

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have been dealing with one of the toughest phases of their lives as their son Aryan Khan has been detained by NCB in connection with the possession of drugs. He was on a cruise from Mumbai to Goa when the raid took place. He was then immediately taken to the NCB wherein he went through some medical tests.

The paparazzi have been following all the updates of the case without realizing that they have been sharing details that are completely insensitive. Yesterday, Aryan was denied bail and it broke Gauri who couldn’t hold her tears. A video of Gauri crying inconsolably is going viral on social media. In the video we see Aryan coming out from the court while on the other end we see a car wherein Gauri is seen crying.
    Here’s the video:

We ask how low is low.
NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who carried out the drug bust, spoke to ETimes.  When asked why the NCB sought further custody, Wankhede said, “We asked for custody of Aryan Khan because there’s still a lot more left to investigate in the case. A lot of new arrests have happened, where we have caught drug peddlers who used to supply illegal substances to parties. During these arrests, we’ve found links to the dark web and Bitcoin as well. We have recovered drugs in commercial quantities. The quantum of the case has become more serious, therefore we need to investigate further."

Wankhede was also asked whether Aryan is directly involved in the drug cartel. On this, he said, “I cannot make any claims prematurely. I need to first investigate and once we conclude our investigations, we’ll be able to address these matters. That’s precisely why we requested the honourable court for custody and the court granted us four days' custody."
There were many people on social media who have pointed out that NCB is deliberately doing all of this to target Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan. On this, Sameer said, “We are not targeting anyone at all. We have nothing against him. We have arrested more than 300 people in the last 10 months. Out of those, at the most, there would be about 4 to 5 known people. How can you say that we are targeting anyone? Most of those arrested in the last one year are hard-core, drug-related criminals.”
What do you have to say about this entire fiasco? Let us know in the comments section below.
