    FIFA 22 may just be the last football game by Electronic Arts that will use the popular nomenclature as the company is now exploring a complete rebrand. In an official statement, EA hinted that the company is exploring new names for the franchise due to expiring license agreements.

    “As we look ahead, we’re also exploring the idea of renaming our global EA SPORTS football games. This means we’re reviewing our naming rights agreement with FIFA, which is separate from all our other official partnerships and licenses across the football world,” EA said in a statement. 

    After the announcement, gaming outlet Polygon did some digging and found that the gaming company has already filed trademarks for a new name. EA filed the trademark registration with both the UK’s Intellectual Property Office and the European Union Intellectual Property office. The filing was done last week according to Polygon and the new name is expected to be “EA Sports FC.”

    It seems like EA’s agreement to use the FIFA license may have come to expiration which could be the reason why the company is exploring new branding for the football franchise. While fans of the FIFA games can expect the series to move forward with similar gameplay and mechanics, they can expect the football games to have a different name from 2023. Since the license with FIFA is just to use the federation’s name for EA’s football game, it might not cause a big change in the overall look and feel of the franchise.

    This could also mean that we could get FIFA games from different developers such as 2K, Konami or others. FIFA may have opted to license the federation’s name to a different developer or we may not even see a FIFA game anytime in the near future. 

    The FIFA series is one of the most successful franchises for EA where the company reported sales of 9 million copies within the first week of release of the latest edition. However, the company has been criticised for the usage of micro-transactions, re-skins and re-releasing the same version of the game on the Nintendo Switch. 
    Changing the name of the football game franchise might come as a shock to fans once it is official and it will be interesting to see how players react to the name change.

    In a span of few years, Vicky Kaushal has carved a niche for himself in the industry and enjoys immense popularity among fans today. It was Masaan that introduced him to the movie buffs but it was Uri: The Surgical Strike that made him a big name. He won the National Award for Best Actor and the movie established Vicky’s strong footing in Bollywood.
    If you have been following his journey, you have a fair idea that the actor leaves no stone unturned to do justice to his characters. The actor has managed to impress the audience once again as he stepped into the shoes of revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh. The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and marks the collaboration between Sircar and Vicky Kaushal for the first time. Vicky is seen as Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, former lieutenant governor of Punjab, to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919.

    As the trailer dropped a while ago, people were left asking for more. And the actor hasn’t disappointed his fans as he keeps sharing updates from his next movie.     Vicky took to Instagram to share a new look from the movie and it seems like he has sunk his teeth into the character. We are completely convinced that the actor will nail the character of Sardar Udham Singh. The look dates back to 1933 when Udham Singh was spotted in Eastern Europe, braving the chills of -15°C.

    Vicky recently shared a photo of himself as Sardar Udham from his prison days. Sharing the photo, Vicky wrote, “1931, Prison, India. Udham Singh was in prison for possession of prohibited papers ‘Ghadr-i-Gunj’ (‘Voice of Revolt’). He was released later but under constant surveillance. Soon, he escaped to Europe and never got to return to India. #SardarUdham #SardarUdhamOnPrime | Oct 16 (sic).”

    In one of the early photos and in the trailer, people spotted a scar on Vicky's face and speculated that he was hurt during the shoot. At the trailer launch, he clarified, “I did not get injured on this film. I got injured on another film, which was four days before we could start shooting for Sardar Udham. I had 13 stitches on my cheek. The first picture that I sent was to Shoojit da and he said, ‘Don’t worry, you come with the stitches, Sardar Udham Singh will have stitches’.”  
    He went on to add, “So, the scar that you see on my face as Sardar Udham Singh is a real scar. There are many different looks in the film. As you saw in the trailer, he kept changing his identity and his passports to reach London. I had to lose and gain weight several times for Sardar Udham Singh. I had to look 19 to 40 convincingly too.”

    Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ is a fictional survival Korean drama series that invites people in need of money to play a bunch of children’s games and win a whopping amount of 45.6 billion won ($38.31 million).

    Although the game turned deadly and the players who got evicted were shot dead, the show’s theme had all fans intrigued about whether such a game could exist in real life. 

    Some people did more than just sit and wonder.

    They called up the phone number printed on the business card that the Squid Game associate (name known) gives to all potential players. In one scene where Seong Gi-hun (played by actor Lee Jung-jae) flips the card, the eight-digit number is shown on the screen.

    The strange thing is that the number is very much real and belongs to a woman named Kim Gil-young who is getting thousands of calls and messages after the show. 

    She runs a dessert shop in Seongju county and has been using the number for 10 years. She said she couldn’t change her number due to the contacts of clients.

    She said her life has been disrupted as she is getting calls and texts day and night from callers who are asking to be invited to the show. Some are requesting her to make them the jumpsuit clad staff of the game, while others said they want to participate as they are in debt. 

    And, some are just making prank calls. She had to delete 4000 numbers.

    She told SBS, “I had past customers who called to complain that they cannot get a hold of me. One caller asked for the product but when I offered it, said they were joking and hung up.”

     A lot of other people who have similar numbers have also been getting endless calls from the crazed fans.

    Netflix has decided to edit the scenes in the show where the number can be seen and meanwhile has asked fans to not call or text on it. “Together with the production company, we are working to resolve this matter, including editing scenes with phone numbers where necessary.” 

    The woman was reportedly offered 5 million South Korean won (equivalent to US$ 4100 or over 3 lakh in INR) by Netflix and production company Siren Pictures, which she declined.

    If you tried calling the number too, please stop. Squid Game isn’t as real as we want it to be. Imagine playing ‘Kho-Kho’ or ‘Chidiya Ud’ and being shot dead!

    India’s 15-member T20 World Cup squad could undergo changes as skipper Virat Kohli, and vice-captain Rohit Sharma have set up a meeting with the national selectors to give final shape to the 15-member squad ahead of October 10 deadline day. 
    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had already announced the 15-member squad for the multi-nation event last month.

    However, some of the players who were named in the initial squad have struggled for form in the second leg of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) in the UAE and that has given selectors and team management a big headache. 

    Also, players like Yuzvendra Chahal, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur have performed consistently, making a strong case for their comeback in the squad. 
    Gambling On Hardik

    The biggest area of concern has been the form of Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya who hasn’t bowled a single delivery and failed terribly with the bat this season, scoring only 117 runs in 11 matches. 

    While picking him the chief selector Chetan Sharma, with great confidence, had said that Hardik would bowl his full spell and provide the team with the balance that no other player can. 
    Let alone a full over, Hardik hasn’t resumed bowling yet and many experts feel he doesn’t deserve a  place in the starting line-up if he isn’t ready to bowl.

    That said, the BCCI is still keen on having Hardik in the squad as they think there is no like-for-like replacement available at the moment. 

    “There is no question of replacing Hardik at this stage. Shardul or Deepak are not ready to take on the role. We have to develop backup in future. But now, it’s not the time, he will not be replaced,” a BCCI source told InsideSport.

    If not Hardik then what other changes can we expect in the main squad? 

    The player leading the race at the moment is Royal Challengers Bangalore leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has lit up the second phase of IPL 2021, picking up 11 wickets in just six outings. 
    Without any doubt, he has been one of the standout performers for RCB in the middle overs and that has been the key to their improved performance in the second leg.

    While Chahal has found his mojo back, his direct-competitor Rahul Chahar, who forced him out of the squad, has been abysmal, even losing out his place in Mumbai’s starting line-up in the last few games. 
    Chahal is India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is and given his vast experience and terrific IPL form, he is most likely to get a comeback call. 
    Middle-Order Concerns

    While India’s top three are almost sure with Rohit and KL Rahul opening the innings, followed by Kohli at number three, the main problem lies in the middle order. Suryakumar Yadav, who was firing all guns blazing before the second phase of the IPL, has gone silent in the last few weeks, failing match after match in the UAE. 

    Another major cause of concern is the form of Ishan Kishan who has fared way below expectations and as a result, was even dropped from MI’s Playing XI. '
    However, earlier this week, he showed signs of improvement as he smashed a quick-fire half-century in a must-win game.

    Keeping all this in mind, the selectors will definitely look to bring in a player who has proven his mettle at the highest level and can be drafted straight into the Playing XI, if need be. 

    Former Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer, who is currently part of the reserves list, could be the answer to this problem.

    MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings with great aplomb in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but his batting has been rather disappointing. 
    Throughout this season, the CSK skipper has looked a shadow of himself whenever he has walked out to bat and fans have now started asking how long he will keep on playing like this.

    The 40-year-old skipper has scored only 96 runs in 14 league games, with 18 being his top score, and based on his batting alone he would struggle to make it to the playing XI of any IPL franchise.

    For CSK, however, Dhoni is irreplaceable because his understanding of the game is second to none and he has proven that his decision-making is still top-notch. But some people strongly believe that unless he contributes with the bat, he doesn’t deserve to be in the playing XI of a top team like CSK.

    One such fan, who doesn’t think highly of Dhoni anymore, took to the micro-blogging site and complained about the CSK leader’s poor form in a humorous manner. 

    Tagging Swiggy Cares -- the official support handle of an online food delivery platform, the fan wrote that he was trying to order MS Dhoni from Instamart but was constantly getting the error code saying “unfortunately MS Dhoni is finished”.

    The person managing Swigggy Cares’ Twitter handle shut him down with a savage reply saying that players like Dhoni are once in a lifetime talent and it’s hard to find anyone like them.
    “Unfortunately they don't make Legends like MSD anymore,” the food delivery platform replied.

    The former India skipper might not be the same batter that he once was but the countless memories that he has given are still fresh in the minds of every Indian cricket fan.

    Chennai Super Kings batter Suresh Raina is reported to miss out on making an appearance in the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2021 due to a knee injury that he suffered ahead of the match against Delhi Capitals.
    He was replaced by season debutante Robin Uthappa in the loss against Rishabh Pant’s squad and was unavailable to play against Punjab Kings on Thursday as well.

    However, according to India TV, the knee injury might be just one of the reasons why Raina is not playing. It is his lack of form this season that was the bigger cause of concern for MS Dhoni and his franchise.
    Raina, who has been well known for his accomplishments in the Indian T20 league over the years, has been unable to recreate his brilliance on the pitch this season. Averaging a little over 17.75, he has only scored 160 runs in 12 matches this year.

    In the second leg, which began in the United Arab Emirates last month, Raina’s numbers have gotten worse after he was dismissed on three occasions even before he could score in double figures. 17 runs were about as high as Raina could score in the second half of IPL 2021, which came against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore at Sharjah.
    So when the reports of “Mr. IPL” missing out on the playoffs began to surface, fans of opposing teams became extremely sarcastic in their response:

    However, in the two matches that Uthappa has played as a replacement for Raina, he hasn’t made a huge difference to the team’s winning cause either. With 19 runs against Delhi and 2 runs against Punjab, the 35-year old remains a big vulnerability for Chennai, as they pad up to chase their fourth title.
    This creates a big predicament for ‘Captain Cool’ who will need to decide whether he should head into the playoffs with a struggling top-order batter in Uthappa or risk playing someone like Narayan Jagadeesan as a wildcard entry when it matters the most. In any case, it is nearly certain that Raina is done for the season.

    He was in news for being dropped out of major films but then came a barrage of announcements of his new projects. Kartik has dedicated himself completely to Shashanka Ghosh's directorial venture Freddy. Reportedly, the actor gained 14kg to do justice to his role in the movie. The actor’s fitness trainer Samir Jaura, in a recent interview, talked about his transformation for the role and weight gain.
    He told Pinkvilla, “Transformations aren’t just limited to shedding or getting ripped, sometimes it also involves putting on kilos and fat but doing it in a very supervised and safe manner. Kartik was able to gain 14 kilos to achieve this look with disciplined, tailor-made workouts and the right diet.”

    He further added, “His dedication is incredible because he is genetically lean. So to gain the weight in that particular time frame for his role is truly commendable. In fact, he has already started losing weight from his Freddy look to get ready for his next film." 
    In an earlier interview, Kartik had talked about being an outsider in the competitive world of Bollywood. He had told Filmfare, “As an outsider, you don’t know the right people to meet or the right path to take. You just have to keep working hard on yourself, on your craft, and wait for the right moment. I come from a small town, Gwalior. For me to even share my dream with my parents was a difficult task. Bollywood seemed [like] another planet altogether. They’d never have allowed me to leave my studies to come to Mumbai. So, I joined D.Y. Patil College in Navi Mumbai just so I could give auditions in Mumbai.  I’d learn about auditions on Facebook. It was a task to travel from Belapur to Andheri by local train every other day. I’d change my clothes in the washroom at the station. This continued for two to three years. Main andhere mein teer chala raha tha (I was shooting in the dark). Outsiders will relate to this. During one of the auditions, one person mentioned that he taught at an acting school. That’s how I joined an acting school.”
