The only show creating an insane amount of buzz in the OTT world right now is The Family Man 2. Very few series manage to engage and grip the audience with such finesse like this one, and while the story line and direction is obviously important, the character essayed by the right actors is what makes a big difference. If you’re also in a Family Man hangover and wish to see more of the cast, then check out these 8 recommendations where you can watch them:

    1. AligarhPick up any Manoj Bajpayee movie and you will not be disappointed with his brilliance. While most of us have watched his epic performances in Gangs Of Wasseypur and Satya, Aligarh is a must-watch if you want to enjoy his versatility to its fullest. Manoj plays the role of a professor at AMU where a sting operation leads to a heated enquiry and interrogation into his sexual orientation. It is a biographical take on the life of professor Ramchandra Siras, who was suspended on moral grounds. The movie paints a true picture of the suppression of the LGBTQI community and courageously voices the importance of human rights.

    2. RangasthalamIf you loved Samantha Akkineni as Raji in the series and are not acquainted with her stellar work, catch this period drama which follows the story of two brothers who end the painful rule of an unwanted leader in their village. The movie has a rating of 8.4 on IMDB and can be on your next watch list.

    3. ParuthiveeranThe beautiful Priyamani, who played Suchi, has already wowed her fans with this romantic drama, which even fetched her a well deserved National Award. The movie follows the hard love story between two lovers who fight all odds and casteism in their village to elope together and find solace in each other.

    4. FilmistaanWe all loved JK so much that I hope I get a friend like the character essayed wonderfully by actor Sharib Hashmi in real life. If you haven’t got a chance to marvel at his work, then check out this 2012 movie which has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This movie also won a National Award and had Sharib playing Sunny, an actor who dreams of making it big in the cinema world.

    5. Pyppin Chuvattile PranayamWhile many of us have been in awe of Moosa in the series, actor Neeraj Madhav is already a big name in the Malayalam industry. Check out this cute love story which is one of his best works if you wish to see more of him on the screen.

    6. Mary KomEveryone loved to hate Major Sameer which means that actor Darshan Kumar did a convincing job in his role. He made his debut in Mary Kom opposite Priyanka Chopra and played the role of Mary’s husband, Onler Kom.

    7. Agent RaghavSharad Kelkar’s performances are always strong and noteworthy and the character of Arvind was no less than that. If you are a fan, then check out this crime anthology series which has him in the lead role and packs quite a punch.

    8. Odu Raja OduIf you were impressed with Muthu's performance, then you must know that the character was played by famous actor Ravindra Vijay, who is a theatre personality. This black comedy is one of his best works and a must watch for every fan.

The Family Man 2 has been a popular subject on the internet lately, with many attributing its rawness and relatability as prime reasons for its virality. Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant Tiwari in particular has received widespread acclaim. In Season 2, Srikant experiences a paradigm shift where he enters the corporate world; a different kind of challenge for our protagonist. As expected, this change results in him facing certain difficulties. A scene that stood out from The Family Man 2 involved Sri and his wife Suchi (Priyamani) paying a visit to their therapist.
    © Prime Video
Divija Bhasin, a counselling psychologist and popular internet personality, reacted to this scene for her followers on Instagram. She does commend the makers for capturing Sri’s hesitance at undergoing therapy accurately. For a society still figuring out the universe of mental health, hesitant clients aren’t unheard of.

She correctly points out the underwhelming portrayal of the therapist as well. From the character’s lazy efforts at building rapport to his insistence on talking about topics his client is visibly uncomfortable with. Actual therapeutic advice does not sound like pop-quotes that one finds outside corporate washrooms.
You can check the video out here.

We caught up with Divija and asked her a couple of questions on the role and importance of movies and TV shows in raising awareness around the subject of mental health.
What is the role of movies and TV shows in sensitizing the audience to the world of mental health?“Movies and TV shows play a huge role in changing the way people think about mental health. You might not realise that you’re getting influenced but every time you watch any form of media, it reinforces your way of thinking. For instance, if you see a movie where a therapist is shown negatively you might associate those negative traits to all therapists without realizing it.
If mental health professionals are shown in a realistic manner, there’s a higher chance of you getting open to the idea of going to one. Similarly, if certain mental illnesses are trivialized or romanticised, you’ll start having similar opinions about them without realizing that they came from these movies/TV shows.
TV shows and movies are as important as books when it comes to learning and unlearning ideas. It’s not just entertainment.”
    © Prime Video
What would be three suggestions you’d give to someone who’s approaching therapy for the first time?- Make sure to check the qualifications of the therapist (they should have at least an MA in Psychology).
    - Do your research and be aware about the red flags to look for in a therapist so you know if the one you’re planning to see is good or not
    - Be mentally prepared that it might take a few sessions for you to feel better and see results.
Could you name a few movies or TV shows where you feel the experience of therapy has been shown positively?- Good Will Hunting
    - Dear Zindagi
    - It’s Kind Of A Funny Story
    - Big Little Lies
    © Dharma Productions
What would you say to encourage people who have been burned by their initial experiences with therapy?“There are all kinds of therapists out there. A therapist who might work for you might not work for someone else (This often happens in the case of doctors as well). It’s all about finding the right fit. It’s normal to feel discouraged if your first experience with a therapist has been bad. You can take some time off and once you feel that you are ready again, give it another shot with a new therapist.”
Considering the taboo that has traditionally been associated with the subject of mental health, its depiction to an impressionable audience needs to be done responsibly by the stakeholders involved. It is important to discuss these subjects in TV shows and movies, and pop culture in general, but such should be done with the required nuance and sensitivity.

For long, the representation of LGBTQ+ in Bollywood was limited to transgenders who would either be a comic character in the movie where his mannerism would crack people up or he would be a psychopath killer on the loose. With time, we have had some amazing movies who have portrayed the queer people very smartly and subtly, without mocking them (think Aligarh, Kapoor & Sons).

    © Eros International
However, some mainstream mannerisms are still shown that basically ridicule gay men and it needs to stop.

Homophobia runs deep in the Indian society and it’s very important to represent all genders and people of different sexual orientation and preference in a serious light.
Cinema has that power, considering the huge following the industry enjoys in the country. However, barring a few, most films show queer people, especially gay men as a funny character.
    © Fox Star Studios
In some movies, queer characters are even given a separate comedic background score, in case the audience forgets that he is gay. It’s basically their cue to laugh which is highly demeaning and disgusting.

Not only they stereotype gay characters but also exaggerate the mannerisms and appearance of queer men which sometimes make us wonder if these writers and filmmakers have even met any gay person in their life.
    © PNC Productions
Here are some stereotypes and mainstream mannerism that we are done with and would like the filmmakers to stop showing in their movies.

The Walk And GesturesUgh! Aren’t we all done with the typical ‘swing in the hips’ walk that almost every gay character ever has in a Bollywood movie? Plus, the hanging hand, lip biting and heavy eyes are a must, especially when they encounter a hot man. Who does that? Only gay men in movies.
    © Fox Star Studios
The Gay Best Friend Syndrome According to Bollywood logic, gay men don’t hang out with other men but have to find a hot girl they can guide about love, relationships and fashion. Also, chances are they will both crush on and fantasize the same hunky straight man, which the girl would end up with. What even?
    © Eros International
The Peppy Wardrobe How do you make a gay character visibly and obviously gay? Dress him up in florals, pinks and anything vibrant and colourful. Also, add some accessories like cravat in the peppiest print, necklace and a rainbow coloured glove to make him unforgettably gay.
    © Dharma Productions
The AccentIf all fails, wait till you hear the guy speaking. Not only he will have a very obvious gay accent but a distinct way of speaking. Also, they would often use words like “Darling, Sweety, Babe” while referring to a woman friend or frenemy so you definitely know he’s not hitting on her but is either going to be her best friend (refer to point 2) or is an incredibly rude boss.
    © UTV Motion Pictures
The Sappy ChapWhile a macho straight man isn’t allowed to be emotional and sensitive in Hindi movies, gay men are shown as people who are born with a tap in their eyes. They would cry at littlest things, especially a proposal scene (here come the waterworks!).
    © Dharma Productions
These so-called mannerism and typical potrayal only perpetuate these stereotypes against queer men and it needs to stop now. Bollywood, are you listening?

Parenting is not an easy job especially if you are fairly new to it. If you have a daughter, you can still manage but as legends say, raising boys is a whole different level of this parenting game if you are noob at it. For young dads reading this, you’d know what I am talking about.

    © Instagram
A dad raising a son can never have enough advice. And, there are not enough books or tutorials for dads bringing up other little men, either. Probably this is why someone took to Reddit and asked men what tips they would give other men who are fathers to little boys. And, men on Reddit obliged.

    © Instagram
Maybe these are men who were brought up well or some who saw discrepancies while growing up which turned out to be a learning for them on how not to deal with a boy when he is young, but men advised other young dads on dos and don’ts of parenting and raising a son the right way.

    © Instagram
If you are a clueless dad or find it difficult to tackle the mini version of you running in the house right now, here are 10 pro parenting tips from men on how to raise sons.

    1. There might be a time when your son takes interest in learning to fix or make things. I wish my dad would’ve taught me how to use power/tools and machinery instead of automatically outsourcing to a service.
    2. The internet in general just isn't safe for kids, im not talking about online gaming, I'm talking about social media. It's making kids depressed and are a groomers paradise.
    © Instagram
    3. Keep them doing heavy physical labor as often as possible, and on the internet as little as possible. Social media creates anxiety and depression, hard work builds confidence and contentment. A man that can create something with his hands is a man who knows how to be happy.

    4. Teach them personal responsibility and accountability of one's actions. My parents never learned that lesson themselves and I work long and hard to practice it.
    © Instagram
    5. Don’t always force your sons to always play sports or do physical things if they don’t want to because they might not want to and will just hate it and not want to have anything to do with it.

    6. Treat them with the same love and nurture that you would your daughters, and don’t demonize them because they are male. They are just as important as your daughters.
    © Instagram
    7. Let them win the argument if they have reasonable logic and supporting evidence. It teaches them to not cry an complain but think and speak intelligently.

    8. If your kid wants to wear dresses let him, teach him to accept his emotions, to understand other people (rather than to judge) and to seek non-violent solutions when possible. Also teach him to defend himself if required.
    © Instagram
    9. Teach them to be empathetic, kind, and generous; that's what my parents did. But also teach them how to brave and their own self-advocate.

    10. Teach them consent.

Good luck with raising your little man!

In just four days, Vidya Balan's Sherni will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video and people are already been waiting for the movie as the trailer has raised everyone's expectations.

Now, the makers have dropped a new song, Main Sherni, that celebrates the various talents of strong women. The powerful track features Vidya Balan along with Mira Erda, Natasha Noel, Eshna Kutty, and Trinetra Haldar. The song is sung by Akasa and Raftaar.
From the first Indian woman on the F4 International podium, a trans doctor, a body positivity advocate, an entrepreneur to Balan, the video showcases how these ‘tigresses’ have found their strengths and are focusing on channelizing their energies in a positive manner.

Talking about the song, Vidya said, “The music video Main Sherni is our tribute to all the women across the globe who have this indomitable spirit of never giving up. Sherni is special for all of us and with this film and music video, we are celebrating women who have shown us that there is nothing a woman can’t do. Just like Vidya Vincent, my character in the movie, we want to show that women are fearless and powerful ... and that you don’t have to roar to be a tigress. This is what we have tried to capture in this anthem.”
Singer Akasa added, “I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of a song that celebrates women, and their strengths. With this soundtrack, we are hoping to awaken the inner shernis inside every woman around the world and motivate them to never give up, chase their dream, and always keep working hard. I've always been all about woman power and am truly honoured to be a part of Sherni and sing a song that will be remembered for a very long time. As always, it was awesome working with Raftaar on this powerful track. The lyrics and melody truly spoke to me and I am sure that listeners will get to experience what the movie is all about through the song.”
Rapper Raftaar added, “This was an interesting project for me - SHERNI, there is such undeniable power in that one word, and to be able to showcase the vitality of that word in a song was a tall order!  I hope Akasa and I have managed to do that. I am really happy with how this passion project has panned out, as Akasa and I have invested our heart and soul into it.”
People have been loving the song and can’t stop praising Raftaar for his rap. They are also loving the idea of the makers have given respect to women of different walks of life.

Serial killers are fascinating creatures, especially when they are a part of a riveting series like Mindhunter or True Detectives.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that some of the best performing web series on OTT platforms are actually based around serial killers.
    © AFP
Mindhunter, in particular, stands out in this regard. Yes, it may be verbose at times, but it is very gripping.

The interview sequences, in particular, are simply fascinating to watch. The makers of the show actually did a fantastic job in recreating some of the most popular and widely written about serial killers.
    © Netflix
However, there are plenty of serial killers who were just as horrifying and scary that they did not cover.

Here are 7 serial killers that we wish we could have seen in Mindhuter, who were never actually covered:
    1. John Wayne Gacy © Reuters
John Wayne Gacy would fit perfectly into the category of serial killers that the show deals with.

Gacy was a business management graduate who was actually quite good at his job as a salesman. He eventually started working as a clown, as a hobbyist.
His claim to fame is killing 33 people, often dressed up as a clown.
    2. Patrick Kearney © AFP
Patrick Kearney was a necrophile, who confessed to killing about 45 people throughout his career, although, the local police, as well as the FBI, only managed to charge him for 21 of these murders.

As per several stories online, he gave some of the most bizarre interviews while he was behind the bars, and would often speak absolute rubbish.
His would have been an interview that agents Ford & Tench would have loved.
    3. Kenneth Bianchi & Angelo Bueno Jr. © AFP
Angelo Bueno Jr. and Kenneth Bianchi were cousins who murdered about 12-14 women. Local authorities and the general public thought that it was just one man, and they named the killer, the Hillside Strangler.

Serial killers have been known to lie during their interviews with Ford & Tench. It will be really interesting to see how these two serial killers give differing testimonies about the same events and murders, and how they contradict each other.
    4. Rodney Alcala © AFP
Okay, Alcala maybe the weirdest serial killer on this list, and a subject that Tench and his team should definitely have interviewed.

While his killing “career” was very much active, he not only participated in a dating show for a national TV channel, he actually won it.
He was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list for a few years before he participated on the show, for a number of assault cases, and was already a convicted felon.
    5. Gerald & Charlene Gallego © Reuters
In the two seasons that we have seen of Mindhunter, we have always seen male serial killers. This would have been a great opportunity for agents Ford & Tench to actually interview a female serial killer, especially one that killed with her romantic partner.

Gerald & Charlene Gallego killed about 11 people in two years before they were arrested and sent to prison for their entire lives.
Surprisingly, Charlene, the female serial killer, was released after 17 years, while Gerald spent his entire life in prison.
    6. Herbert Mullin © Reuters
This is yet another serial killer that the show should have featured. Plus, they could have easily interviewed him as he was stationed right beside Ed Kemper or the ‘Co-Ed Killer.’

The reason Mullin would have made a great subject is the reasons he gave explaining why he did, what he did. Apparently, voices inside his head told him that he had to kill some people and sacrifice them to the gods, to prevent violent and devastating earthquakes.
Apparently, he killed 13 people, although the local police and amateur detectives believed his toll to be much higher.
    7. Ted Bundy © Reuters
Finally, we have the most notorious serial killer from that time period. Ted Bundy was the opposite of everything that Tench & Ford had made serial killers out to be up until that point.

Given how much people are interested in the man and his actions, and the fact that there are tons of documentaries, and docu-series being made on him, and being consumed, it is actually surprising that the team at Mindhunters did not see it fit to make an episode entirely on him.
    The Bottom Line…
Make no mistake, Mindhunter is one heck of a show. The subjects that they chose to interview were very fascinating, to say the least.
However, we think that these aforementioned serial killers would have made the show, just a tad bit better.

Raise your hand if you, like us, always have had darker forearms than any of your other body parts, thanks to the long exposure to the sun. Now, raise another hand if that tanning has become so stubborn that just a sunscreen isn’t helping you get rid of it.
Well, firstly, preventing sun tan is not a one product solution and secondly, skin darkening isn’t the only damage that tanning casts on you.
So, before you get your hands on that skin-lightening bleach, it’s important for you to understand why we tan in the first place and the side effects that long exposure to the sun can have on your skin.
What Is Tanning?A tan is our body’s attempt to protect itself from the sun’s harmful UV rays by producing melanin. Melanin is the chemical responsible for skin darkening and our skin releases melanin under the surface layers of our skin to help absorb UV radiation. The more exposure we have to the harmful sun rays, the more melanin our body releases, and the darker our skin gets.
Though, tanning isn’t permanent and it lightens on its own with time but direct exposure to the sun can cause more side effects to your skin other than just darkening.
Side Effects Of TanningLong exposure to the sun not only tans the skin but also causes skin problems like dark spots, uneven skin tone, patchy skin, early signs of ageing, and hyperpigmentation. The harmful UV radiation robs our skin of its moisture content and makes it look dull and lifeless. It may also cause skin cancer.
So, how does one keep tanning and sun damage at bay?
De-Tan TreatmentWell, the best way to lighten a tan is to avoid getting it in the first place by limiting your exposure to the sun and protecting your skin with proper sun protection.
However, taking good care of your skin (not using face bleach) and regularly exfoliating it can help get rid of tanning faster and reverse the effects of sun damage.
Best De-Tan Products For Men1. Face Wash With Vitamin CUsing a face wash twice a day is the first step we must take towards maintaining a healthy skincare routine, all year round.
When it comes to treating signs of tanning like dull and dry skin, using a face wash with Vitamin C as a key ingredient is a safe bet that suits almost all skin types.
Not only does it cleanse the skin and removes impurities, but also helps treat sun damage and boost skin radiance in an all-natural way.
    Frequency: Twice A Day
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1710__
    2. Moisturiser With A Good SPF Regular exposure to the sun can make your skin patchy and skin tone uneven, using a moisturiser with a good SPF value can help counter those effects.
Opt for a lightweight formula that seamlessly blends in your skin and helps repair dry skin and provide long-lasting nourishment.
When used regularly a moisturiser naturally starts healing your skin from within by treating dark spots, tan, uneven skin tone.
Frequency: Every two hours when exposed to the sun
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1711__
    3. Face Serum For Extra Hydration Just like our body, our skin needs that extra dose of hydration during summers. So along with your moisturiser and sunscreen, using a face serum will particularly help in retaining and enhancing your skin’s natural texture.
Consider our face serum with Kakadu Plum and SepiWhite to rejuvenate your skin and clock in that 24-hour glow.
    Frequency: Once In The Morning
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1712__
    4. Face Scrub To Buff Away Dull Skin  Tanning and dead skin cells make for a perfect recipe for visibly damaged skin.
    Solution? Regular exfoliation.
Exfoliating your skin regularly can effectively help clear away dry and dead skin cells, revealing the natural radiance and youthfulness of the skin.
Face scrubs are particularly good in treating tanning, dark spots, blackheads and uneven skin tone.
    Frequency: Twice In A Week
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1713__
    5. Body Scrub To Shine Perfect And while you are at it, don’t ignore your body.
Body scrubs help get rid of dead skin cells. Apart from using a loofah, regularly using body scrub leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed.
Try one made with an all-natural formula to prevent moisture loss and nourish the skin deeply.
    Frequency: Once In A Week
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1714__
    6. Sheet Masks For A Nourishing BoostIn addition to tanning, long exposure to the sun saps the natural moisture and nutrition from your skin.
Try a sheet mask as a quick solution to give your skin an instant nourishing boost. Sheet masks are great at breathing life into dull and damaged skin.
If you forget to keep up with the above skincare routine, using a sheet mask once a week should make up for the loss, and fix the healing and hydrating process.
    Frequency: Once In A Week

How To De-Tan At Home1. Apply Aloe VeraSlit the leaf of aloe vera plant and apply it directly on your face, hands, feet. Leave it on for 15 minutes before and then rinse off.
Aloe Vera has a soothing effect on the skin and heals sun tan and sunburns. It also reduces pigmentation.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1218__
    2. Multani Mitti, Turmeric & Rose WaterMake a DIY de-tan face pack by mixing rose water to Multani Mitti and adding a tinch of turmeric to it. Apply a thick layer of the paste on the face, let it dry for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water.
While Multani Mitti (also known as Fuller’s Earth) soothes sunburns, turmeric helps lighten the skin tone and rose water helps hydrate your skin.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1350__
    3. Lemon Juice & HoneySqueeze some fresh lemon juice and add some honey to it. Apply the mixture on your skin, let it stay for 30 minutes and then rinse off with a mild cleanser.
Lemon juice contains Vitamin C and has a bleaching effect which helps remove tan. Honey dilutes the acid concentration of lemon and helps nourish your skin.
You can also add some sugar to the mixture to make a scrub. Sugar works as an exfoliant to buff away the dead skin cells that have built up on the skin.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1219__
    4. Almond & Rose Water ScrubGrind a handful of almonds with rose water to create a paste. Use it as a scrub and massage gently on the affected area to remove tan.
Almonds have bleaching properties and are rich in Vitamin E which nourish the skin and heal it from any damage from the sun.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1795__
    5. Rub Some CucumberWe have all known and used cucumbers to soothe puffy eyes and dark circles, and it works equally well to treat sun tan and sunburns. Grate a cucumber, and squeeze to get the juice out. Apply the juice on your skin using a cotton ball. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and wash off.
Dos & Don’ts To Prevent Sun TanApart from getting your de-tan skincare regime in check, there are a few things you can do to prevent tanning from casting its dark spell.
    - Avoid sun exposure during peak hours from noon to 4 pm.
    - Avoid wearing dark coloured clothes, wear more whites as they reflect the sunlight back.
    - Wear full clothes and bank on accessories like hats and sunglasses.
    - Reapply sunscreen or lotion every 2 hours when exposed to the sun for long
    - If you want to soak in some Vitamin D, do it in the morning before 8
The BottomlineDe-tanning is a skincare regime that demands a more holistic approach to address the underlying signs of tanning and sun damage.
Embracing and adapting to a skincare routine would help prevent tanning from happening in the first place and make your skin look young, bright and youthful all year round.
So, go say yes to that sun-kissed glow, and goodbye to suntanned dullness.

Even though we don't get to see much of Sunny Deol these days, his work in Indian Cinema has been etched in our hearts.
Referred to as Bollywood's 'angry action man', Sunny carved a niche for himself in the action-drama arena back in the days and left no stone unturned with his acting skills.
    © VR Entertainment
Although he is often shown with a tetchy disposition on-screen, it's his naive nature that melts our hearts.

Apart from his glorious career in Bollywood, even his dialogues are evergreen, not just in the industry but even we have used them at some point in our lives.
As today marks 20 years of Gadar, let's take a look at these 8 iconic dialogues of Sunny from various movies:
    1. Damini © BCCL
Sunny had some hard-hitting dialogues in Damini but the two that stood out were, "Yeh dhai kilo ka haath jab kisipe padtha hai na, toh aadmi uth-ta nahi uthh jaata hai." Uff, we can feel the weight.

The dialogue became more popular than the movie.
And, then,"Tareekh pe tareekh, tareekh pe tareekh, tareekh pe tareekh milti gayi My Lord, Per insaaf nahi mila!". Talk about iconic, right?
    2. Gadar: Ek Prem Katha © Zee Studios
Gadar reflected Sunny's patriotic side and proved that he is made for such movies.

The dialogue that made waves was, "Agar aapka Pakistan zindabad hai toh isme humein koi aitraaz nahi lekin hamara Hindustan zindabad tha, zindabad hai aur zindabad rahega.”
    3. Yamla Pagla Deewana
One of Sunny's funniest movies, Yamla Pagla Deewana also had some rib-tickling dialogues. "Jatt risky after balti bhar whiskey".
    I mean lame, but cute!
    4. Jeet © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
Jeet is an action thriller movie in which Sunny starred opposite Karisma Kapoor and Salman Khan.

While the movie garnered positive reviews, we actually became a huge fan of Sunny's dialogue, "Patharon ki is duniya mein devta banna toh bahut aasaan hai Insaan banna bahut mushkil." Itna gussa!
    5. Ghatak © Santoshi Productions
Ghatak was Sunny's well-acclaimed movie in which he delivered some deadly dialogues.

"Yeh mazdoor ka haath hai, loha pighlakar uska aakar badal deta hai."
    Reminds us of Rajinikanth.
    6. Ghayal © Vijayta Films
"Utaar ke phenk do ye wardi aur pehen lo Balwant Rai ke naam ka patta apne gale mein...Balwant Rai ke kutton." No doubt, this one is an unforgettable dialogue.

It's even hard to imagine someone else saying it. Hmm...
    7. Jo Bole So Nihaal
The list would be incomplete without the scene in Jo Bole So Nihal where Sunny says, No if, no but, sirf jatt! Hahaha.

OnePlus is trying its hand at budget smartphones for the second time with the Nord CE, which I’ve been using for quite some time.
While the phone does get everything right on paper, the story is a little different when you consider the overall Indian smartphone market. The successor to the first Nord isn’t really an upgrade that users would be willing to spend on. It’s more of the same by OnePlus which may impress first-time buyers but raise even more doubt amongst customers who look at other choices.
Here’s what I think about the OnePlus Nord CE after using it for over ten days:

When you hold the Nord CE, you will first doubt that it’s even a OnePlus phone. That’s because the device is lighter than its predecessor and uses a body that would find on smartphones priced half the value. The polycarbonate body on the OnePlus Nord CE isn’t of the best quality and can easily break if dropped from a waist-level height.

Staple OnePlus features like the notification slider are missing while it does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It really is a stripped out version of a OnePlus smartphone that only offers the ‘Core Experience’. I still prefer last year’s OnePlus Nord simply because it was a cheaper device that retained OnePlus’ identity. However in CE’s case; I cannot say the same.

The OnePlus Nord comes with a 6.4-inch Fluid AMOLED display that is roughly the same panel as its predecessor. At least in the display department OnePlus did not sacrifice the quality as the panel presented a vivid, colourful and sharp image. While it’s not on the same level as OnePlus flagship phones, it’s still amongst the best you will find in a smartphone that costs between Rs 20,000 - Rs 30,000.

The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate which works exactly as it would on the flagship devices. The overall experience was ultra-smooth where animations were snappy and I did not notice any stuttering or throttling. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the display which is a huge contrast to how I feel about the rest of the phone.
CamerasThe OnePlus Nord CE’s camera is not entirely what I expected. The image quality from the smartphone at times looked great while other times it didn’t really live up to OnePlus’ own standards. There were instances where images had white balancing issues even after an update that was said to fix it. The CE comes with a 64MP primary sensor ultra-wide sensor that has a field of view of 119-degrees and a mono lens.

The camera also struggled to focus on objects especially in low light which made it unusable most of the time. In daylight, the Nord CE camera does take good images but it’s nothing that would command a price tag the Nord CE wants to.

I’ve used cheaper budget smartphones by Xiaomi, Poco and other companies that do a better job than the Nord CE. In my honest opinion, OnePlus really needs to work on the camera app and improve its imaging quality for more consistent quality.
As of now, the 64MP does not deliver quality images which may change in the future, if OnePlus fixes the camera app via updates.

The OnePlus Nord CE also supports NightScape photography which works better than it did on its predecessor. It’s not at par with the OnePlus 9 series which was expected since the Nord CE is OnePlus’ budget offering for 2021. Having said that, there is still room for improvement and to bring it to par with other smartphones in the same price category.

Here are some camera samples from the OnePlus Nord CE for your reference.
Performance and Battery Life The Nord CE is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G chipset that isn’t much of an upgrade from last year’s Nord’s hardware. The 750G in almost every scene is not even a significant upgrade from Nord’s Snapdragon 765G SoC. The 750G has a lower clock speed and does not offer a significant improvement in GPU performance. In fact, in games like Genshin Impact, Free Fire and other competitive games, there’s an overall gain of only 1 FPS.
Having said that, the 750G does have better CPU performance which resulted in the Nord giving a Geekbench 5 result of 638 (single-core) and 1735 (multi-core).

In terms of real-life usage, the OnePlus Nord CE works like a charm and does not falter when doing daily tasks. The phone rarely throttles and I did not notice any app crashes during my usage. For an average user, the OnePlus Nord CE does everything you expect it to do.

In gaming, even though there isn’t a significant performance gain, it still manages to run most games smoothly with less frequent frame rate drops. However, I do recommend running competitive games in medium settings to conserve battery life and get good frames.
The OnePlus Nord CE comes with a 4,500 mAh battery that can get fully charged in under an hour as it supports Warp Charge 30T. In my usage, the smartphone lasted well over an entire day with moderate usage however it is necessary to point out that I’m stuck at home connected to Wi-Fi. There will be a little drop in battery life when used with a mobile network.
Software: OxygenOS 11 The Nord CE ships with OxygenOS 11 out of the box which has almost all of your favourite features from the main flagship phones. Features such as Zen Mode, AOD, Reading Mode and other features make a return. It also has all of the customisation options intact and offers the full experience you want from a OnePlus device.
The Final Say The OnePlus Nord CE is a cheaper version of a device that already exists. In fact, the company has not lived up to its name and instead delivered a smartphone that does not represent the brand well. The build quality is cheaper than its predecessor and it doesn’t offer any significant upgrades either.
If you are willing to spend a bit extra, you’re better off getting last year’s OnePlus Nord instead of the CE. If you are a first-time buyer who isn’t looking to spend too much, the Nord CE is a great starting point for Rs 22,999.

Celebrities who make fashion relatable are sometimes rare in the industry.

There are several actors who have time and again stepped out wearing clothes that make us scratch our heads. For example, when Ranveer Singh wore pants that looked like denim curtains. I mean no one comes close to what he can do in the fashion department.
But on the other hand, we have Ali Fazal, who knows how to pull off ensembles that even regular folks like us can try out. That's just his calibre.

After giving a stellar performance in Mirzapur, the actor has often piqued our interest with his style statement as well. He went from decking up in classic silhouettes to wearing super comfortable joggers, shorts and chappals.

The pandemic also might have influenced his wardrobe. No matter what the reason is, he still manages to turn heads.
He was recently seen stepping out of a store in Mumbai. We have often seen our Guddu Bhaiya wear chappals but in rare moments, he also wears some eccentric pair of shoes. This appearance was one such event.
    Take a look.

Ali is wearing Asics Dynablast sneakers. These come in gradient blue colourway and are made with a light, breathable upper that wraps well and gives a sock-like feel.

Moreover, these trainers bring an energetic ride to your feet. The grippy rubber tread adds to the traction and these are finished with Asics branding.

If you are wondering how much money you would have to spend on these shoes, these are for Rs 9,787. If you think about it, this isn't such a bad deal and can be a good call for your workout sesh.

We also like the way Ali was dressed for the casual outing. Firstly, his #Nomad T-shirt is a versatile addition. You also can't miss the way he has worn the upper with shorts.

The compressed tights below also look pretty dope. Overall, we think the outfit screams athleisure and it's a subtle workout choice that Ali has gone for. To make it stand out, the sunglasses are a perfect accessory here.

In all, this is one heck of an example that we can try out too but we hope to see more of Guddu Bhaiya style.

If you're familiar with the legacy of the genius that Mr Satyajit Ray was, you'd agree that no introduction would do justice to the sheer talent that he embodied. Right from being one of the greatest film directors of all time, to being one of the most underrated writers ever, to being a supremely talented painter, there is nothing creative or artistic that this man was incapable of doing.

However, because of his indisputable greatness, no one perhaps thought of looking at the superficial, which honestly is noteworthy. Mr Ray, without a shred of doubt, was a bona fide style God who was handsome enough to play the 'hero' in all his films. As if his presence itself wasn't charismatic and magnetic enough, he stood tall at a height of more than 6 feet 3 inches, dwarfing everyone else around in the set. Here are 10 rare pictures that prove the same.
Let us start with a rare picture of his youth. This originally was a black and white picture that has been colorized.
View this post on InstagramThis picture is from 1992, the same year he received the Academy Honorary Award. This was his last DD interview, with Sharmila Tagore.

View this post on InstagramNo one knew or used words such as 'swag' back then, but look!
View this post on InstagramAnother one. No one really knew what 'being cool' meant back in the day, but he embodied it, and how!
View this post on InstagramWhich director dresses like this anymore during shoot? It takes real class, something that unfortunately seems to be a thing of the bygone era now.
View this post on InstagramHear us out, could he really not have played James Bond or Sherlock Holmes? Fun Fact: The famous 'Feluda' is based on Sherlock Holmes, and for anyone who has read the original books and seen his artwork, it will be evident that he perhaps had used himself as an inspiration for how the character should look like, and for good reason.

Who else could pull off a suit like that? He wasn't even on a ramp but might as well have been.
View this post on InstagramIf something like this came out today, Coke would've legit used this very image as a viral ad.

And a final one, with the 'Mahanayak' of Bengali cinema, Uttam Kumar. For someone who's not familiar with the legends, it would be a task guessing who's the director and who's the actor.

We continue being in awe of everything that this man was about, and it's safe to say that will never change.
