    Okay guys, tell me this!

If you or any of your other Indian friends ever managed to keep long hair in college, you will know ki ladkiyon se zaada toh tumhe auntiyaan ghoorti hai.

The fact is that at many places, unfortunately, no matter how you are as a person, you will still be judged on the basis of your appearance.

Bhai! Even if you've not smoked weed or touched alcohol in your life, if you have long hair or dark circles (all that Netflix, bro), the police or your gully wale uncle will think of you as mohalle ka sabze bada nashedi.
While it's the hard truth, we're still pretty sure that you won't get arrested for just that.
Well, guess what? Neighbours Pakistan are one step ahead of us.
In what is clearly a bizarre reason to take someone on a ride to the local thane, the police in Pakistan's Lahore city jailed an artist for having long hair.
    © Twitter/Natasha Javed
According to reports, the artist, performer, and teacher, Abuzar Madhu had just been casually waiting for a rickshaw one fine morning before suddenly, a police car pulled up in front of him and took him to the police station.

Narrating the incident was his friend and child rights advocate, Natasha Javed, who said the police arrested him just because he had long hair.
"Last weekend, my friend Abuzar was picked up by Punjab Police in Lahore. He had to spend a night in Model town police station, in a lock-up. Reason: his long hair.” she said in a series of tweets.

    A thread
    — Natasha Javed (@natashajaved1) June 7, 2021Abuzar is an artist & a teacher. He was waiting for a Rickshaw near Kalma Chawk when a police van stopped him. They asked for his ID card, which luckily he had. He showed the ID card. The police officer then asked others to put him in the police van ‘Ainu Gaddi wich Pao’ pic.twitter.com/6Wu9Odk5L6
    — Natasha Javed (@natashajaved1) June 7, 2021"Abuzar is an artist & a teacher. He was waiting for a Rickshaw near Kalma Chawk when a police van stopped him. They asked for his ID card, which luckily he had. He showed the ID card. The police officer then asked others to put him in the police van ‘Ainu Gaddi wich Pao”. said Natasha in her tweet.
Abuzar asked the officer what the issue was. The officer continued to threaten and scare him by saying that he will find out the issue once he reaches the police station. That the issue was his ‘Hulia’/appearance, his ‘lambay Baal’ and that he is out on the street at 3 am.
    — Natasha Javed (@natashajaved1) June 7, 2021Abuzar kept explaining that he is a teacher and an artist. However, The police harassment did not stop and they forced him to sit in the van and he was taken to the police station.
    — Natasha Javed (@natashajaved1) June 7, 2021At the police station, they checked him & his bag. They found nothing except a few books. The officer who checked him asked ‘thaanaydar Saifullah’ to let him go at his pint. But, no. He didn’t agree and instead asked his junior to put Abuzar in the lockup.
    — Natasha Javed (@natashajaved1) June 7, 2021Apparently, despite Abuzar answering all that needed to be answered, the police insisted on teaching him a lesson by locking him up for his appearance.
He insisted that he wanted to teach Abuzar a lesson for his long hair & appearance. That a Night in jail would be good for him to know that he dare not look the way he chooses to. Abuzar reached out to friends through Facebook to seek legal support before his phone was taken.
    — Natasha Javed (@natashajaved1) June 7, 2021
Jokes apart, this clearly displays the insensitivity and the attitude of a certain section of our society including authorities towards judging people on the basis of their appearances.
We really do hope Abuzar wins this battle and the police officers involved in the incident face the necessary actions.

Caught up in the pandemic that has literally ruined our lives, there is bound to be a feeling of loneliness and despair, especially if you are living by yourself.

Well, there may be a thing that might help you. Cuddle Therapy!

    © Pexels
Yes, it exists. And, we hear that it really, really helps.

While of course, nothing's ever going to truly beat the state of lying down on the bed, holding your better half next to you, however, cuddle therapy could be the second-best option to help you feel a bit better about things.
The concept explores the use of physical touch to help reduce heart rate, blood pressure, symptoms of depression while also helping to increase the flow of happy hormones in one's body.
    © Unsplash
In what is a growing trend, under cuddle therapy, professional cuddlers are paid to cuddle with people as long as it is platonic.

One such cuddler, Keeley Shoup has been working in Chicago, USA, in the capacity for the last seven years to help people suffering from trauma and abuse.
    © Ladbible/Keeley Shoup
Shoup, who earns around $100 per hour for an individual session has even explained how she loves getting strange requests from clients.

"I kind of love strange requests, because what that means is that that person trusted me enough to tell me a thing that they wanted. That is atypical in society, that means they have to trust me a lot."
"That means that I have created a space safe enough where they don't feel like I'm going to judge them. I love that. I want them to have places in their life where they don't feel judged."
"One of the rules that I have is that they can ask me for anything that falls within the code of conduct, and they won't be judged," said Keeley.

However, she adds that the requests should all fall within the code of conduct that she abides by and should not put anyone in an uncomfortable situation.
"I'm not going to say yes to everything, I'm still going to check in with myself and see whether this is something I can actually do wholeheartedly - I'm not going to do anything that I will resent them for.
"I will hold my own boundaries, and I will never put myself in a position where I'm uncomfortable.
"That gives them the freedom to ask for anything," said Keeley.
Well, while you're out wondering what exactly falls under the range of strange requests, Keeley explains how they aren't sexual and are usually things that adults typically shy away from doing.
"I've had tickle fights with clients before. That's something that's kinda atypical or out of the norm."
    © Unsplash
"I've read books - like children's stories - because they wanted to feel taken care of in that way, and that was a thing they remembered from childhood that was really reassuring and nurturing. I've wrestled around like a puppy with someone before, just to get that sense of play. I say 'weird' in the most loving way possible. One that I think most people resonate with but don't think of it was... when you were a kid, you'd draw on someone's back and they had to guess what shapes [you were drawing]. That, I love doing, but it's not something that adults typically do," said Keeley.

Akshay Kumar recently took to Twitter to dismiss a news report that claimed that he has reduced his fees for his upcoming movie. The report said that Akshay had agreed to reduce his fees by Rs 30 crores for Bell Bottom. The film was shot in Scotland last year.
Akshay Kumar didn’t confirm the number on his tweet and called the report fake. He took to Twitter and wrote, "What waking up to FAKE Scoops feels like!"
    Check out the post here-
What waking up to FAKE Scoops feels like! 🥴 https://t.co/jxn1cXT6as
    — Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) June 14, 2021
According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, producer Vashu Bhagnani had requested Akshay Kumar to reduce his fee and the actor agreed to the same. The report also said that Akshay Kumar had quoted a fee of around Rs 117 crores for the film, which was later elevated to Rs 135 crores.
Vashu Bhagnani also tweeted that there is no truth to the report at all.
The report quoted a trade source saying, “Being primarily a film that caters to the tier 1 and 2 cities, Vashu Bhagnani wanted to keep the budget in check and hence, he requested his leading man, Akshay to scale down his acting fees by ₹30 crores, as the rise in budget aside, there looms a lot of uncertainty on the release too. If theatrical, it's a given that the film wouldn't earn what it would have in a normal scenario."
The source also said that Akshay had graciously agreed to reduce his salary, keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation. It also said that the film turns a profit, he would be reimbursed for the discount. But, if the film doesn’t perform well that he will only be able to make around Rs 80-90 crore.
Here’s what people have to say about this-

Nikhil Kamath, who was applauded by the people of India after he became the youngest billionaire in the country and entered Forbes’ list of 100 richest Indian people, has seen a massive drop in his fan-following after he was banned for cheating against Indian chess legend Viswanathan Anand during a charity event.
In a charity event to raise money for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in India, Chess.com had made arrangements for the country’s biggest names from all various sectors to play against the Indian Grandmaster, and based on the reports shared by the organisation, the event was a big success.
Massive THANK YOU to everyone for making this event a grand success! 🏻

We are glad to share that we managed to raise more than 10 Lakhs from this event! @AkshayaPatra

    — Chess.com - India (@chesscom_in) June 13, 2021
Unfortunately, a big asterisk has been put on the game between Anand and Kamath in which the latter, according to his own acknowledgment, had used the help of computers and other people who were analysing the game on his behalf as he went on to beat the legend with a 99% accuracy in his game.
Upon further investigation, Chess.com ended up banning Kamath’s account for “using unfair means” and violating “Fair Play” regulations and even issued a statement addressing what had happened and why it happened in the first place.
    Statement: pic.twitter.com/L5Q6We83sS
    — Chess.com - India (@chesscom_in) June 14, 2021
After noticing some significant backlash online, Kamath ended up making an apology (sort of) while trying to normalise what he had done. While the tone of his apology felt extremely casual to many of the fans of the game, another thing that ticked off the followers was the fact that the billionaire did not care enough to check whether he had spelled the name of the person he was apologising to correctly or not.
"Yesterday was one of those days that I had dreamt of when I was a really young kid learning chess, to interact with Vishwanath Anand. Got the opportunity thanks to Akshaypatra and their idea of raising funds for charity conducting a bunch of chess games with Vishy. It is ridiculous that so many are thinking that I really beat Vishy in a chess game, that is almost like me waking up and winning a 100mt race with Usain Bolt," Kamath said in a statement.

    — Nikhil Kamath (@nikhilkamathcio) June 14, 2021
"I had help from the people analyzing the game, computers, and the graciousness of Anand sir himself to treat the game as a learning experience. This was for fun and charity. In hindsight, it was quite silly as I didn't realise all the confusion that can get caused due to this. Apologies," he added.
What should have been a damage-control process, ended up creating a few more troubles for the 34-year-old:
The least that a person ‘apologising’ can do is to spell Viswanathan Anand’s name correctly.
    — Venky Srinivasan (@venkyQM) June 14, 2021Exactly.. his apology is as much fake as his game.. he is just trying to be funny with that apology. Just a shameless person he is. I wonder how his company treat his customers and employees
    — ︎ ︎NoOne (@FascistTwitttrr) June 14, 2021Nikhil Kamath didn't even spell Vishy sir's name right in his apology
    — Bubli Gupta (@GuptaBubli) June 14, 2021That PoS Nikhil Kamath didn't even spell Vishy sir's name correctly, and had balls to not apologize properly. Bhai, isse achcha toh Kunal Shah hai, useless hai but less of a moron. Cannot even apologize properly! Asswipe.

Back in 2020, brothers Nikhil and Nitin Kamath created a massive stir on the Indian social media after entering Forbes’ list of 100 richest Indians at the age of 34 and 41, respectively. Nikhil, who is the Co-Founder Zerodha and True Beacon also used to be a professional chess player and has even represented the country in a few tournaments.
Kamath feels that it was the game of chess that helped him understand the market better, especially by analysing the various deviations in strategies. Therefore, it was an obvious decision to make India’s youngest billionaire become a part of a charity event for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in which he was to sit across the board from chess legend Viswanathan Anand.
Massive THANK YOU to everyone for making this event a grand success! 🏻

    — Chess.com - India (@chesscom_in) June 13, 2021
But then something remarkable happened. Kamath not only gave the grandmaster a tough competition but ended up winning against him. However, it was later revealed that the businessman had “gamed the system” and his profile was eventually banned for “using unfair means”.
So the Zerodha CEO Nikhil Kamath played a charity chess match against Visvanathan Anand for COViD relief.
    Gamed the system to win.
    Got his chess profile banned.

The banning took place two days ago and ever since, the news spread across social media like wildfire with Kamath receiving some significant backlash. It was not until Monday morning that the accused finally spoke about it on Twitter with a post that was supposed to justify what he did, followed by a casual apology, but only made matters worse for him online.
    Here’s his complete ‘apology’:

Here’s now Anand’s fans and even those who admired Kamath for everything he had achieved so far, reacted to the post:

    — Forza Belgium (@kdbisgod) June 14, 2021Nikhil, I've always looked up to you but this isn't acceptable. Such a casual apology after what happened yesterday raises a lot of questions. Did you think that you would outsmart the world using engines and nobody would know?

According to an RTI request unearthed by IGN India, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) does not have a role in banning the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India.
In the RTI filed by r. Gaurav Tyagi, an assistant professor at JNU, the ministry responded saying that it “has no role in granting any permission for entry of PUBG or any company/mobile app in India.”
As part of my research on predatory practise of Chinese companies in India and it's impact on National Security, had filed an RTI about the relaunch of PUBG Mobile in India by Krafton (in which the Chinese behemoth has the second largest stake). pic.twitter.com/WL5rkThdOb
    — Dr Gaurav Tyagi (@drtyagigaurav) June 13, 2021
It has been previously reported that the Indian Government cannot ban the launch of an app in India until it is found violating privacy and/or doing data theft.
These were the same reasons the Indian Government used for banning a number of Chinese apps last year including PUBG Mobile.
    © Krafton
Last week, many BJP leaders were also calling for a ban on the game due to Krafton, the publisher of the game having close ties with China’s Tencent.

BJP spokesperson Suresh Nakhua and MP Ashok Nete both requested Prime Minister Modi to take action. It’s not the first time Indian Politicians have been calling for a ban on the upcoming battle royale game.
IGN India also cites sources that claim neither Apple nor Google is looking forward to allowing Krafton to launch the game on their respective app stores. IGN’s sources say both companies are hesitant “due to the controversial nature of the app."
For now, it seems like Battlegrounds Mobile India’s launch will go forward as planned, however, India’s MeitY could take action if the game is found violating rules. It would be prudent to point out that MeitY will be keeping a close on Battlegrounds Mobile India once it launches.

Sushant Singh Rajput will be remembered for a lot of things. His majestic presence on screen, genuine heart and contagious smile being just a few of them.
While he was Manav from Pavitra Rishta for some (including desi moms), he was reel MS Dhoni who portrayed the captain of Indian Cricket team like no one could have.

It’s been one year since the news of the demise of Rajput broke and shook the entire nation. Not only his fans but everyone who had even seen him onscreen was devastated. Gone too soon, indeed.

However, with his memories and unforgettable roles he has played, he has also left a legacy behind in the form of his dialogues that are not mere words but learnings of life. Although the credit for these hard-hitting and applause-worthy dialogues goes to the writers as well, Sushant has always delivered them with such conviction that it added life to the character and created incredible magic on the screen.
On his first death anniversary, here’s remembering the talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput by some kickass dialogues from his best movies that he has given in his few years of trajectory in Bollywood.

Inspiration is something that can come from anywhere. While the source rarely matters, when it involves two of the best directors who really have excelled in their individual crafts, it perhaps is worthy of mention and even analysis. We're talking about two particular scenes from two movies that are as different as chalk and cheese, but it does look like one has been inspired from the other.

The two movies in question are Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel that was released in 2013, and Satyajit Ray's iconic Bengali film Nayak, released way back in 1966. If you've scrolled this far, it's safe to say you know enough about Man Of Steel, but for the uninitiated, Nayak ('The Hero' in English) is one of those films that pin-point towards the rich legacy of Indian cinema. It stars 'Mahanayak' Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore, and was directed by the one and only Satyajit Ray. While it's said that Ray's Nayak itself was inspired by an Ingmar Bergman film, there is an iconic scene in Man Of Steel (the pit of skulls bit from A New Krypton scene to be specific), which clearly has been inspired by a scene from Nayak.

While Man Of Steel is (obviously) about Superman, Nayak tells the story of an extremely successful film actor who is travelling on train to receive a prestigious award. He meets a journalist on his way, who starts interviewing him. His story of 7 flashbacks and 2 dreams is what makes the movie.

Now, let us get to the scenes we're talking about. First, let's look at the scene from Nayak (1966). Please specifically focus on the end of the scene.

Let us now look at the scene from Man Of Steel (2013). Again, please focus on the end of the scene.

From an analytical point of view, the two scenes are not similar at all, from the perspective of storyline. According to Redittor Mrmazzz, "Nayak (which roughly translates from Bengali to English as The Hero) was inspired by an Ingmar Bergman film. It's a surprisingly reflexive film for Satyajit Ray, but you could also argue Ray had begun to move away from his realist mode by that time. It centers on a film star on a long train ride - it really reminds me more of The White Sheik (Felini). The scene in particular here is a dream sequence where basically our titular hero/star is being crushed by the encroachment of late capitalism upon his life and it's destroying himself and everything around him. The two scenes are visually similar, somewhat opposed to one another. Nayak is all about self discovery and dreams turning to nightmares. Man of Steel is a villain monologue by Zod that never achieves the blissful dreamlike qualities of the latter, despite a seemingly utopian setting, as it goes from 'neutral' to nightmare. Still a nice reference point."

While such instances usually end up in fan wars or negativity, in this particular instance involving the two greats, fans are exhilarated and have opined that there is, in fact, nothing wrong when one great director 'takes inspiration' from another one - 'The God of Directors' in this case.
