Sharib Hashmi’s character JK Talpade from The Family Man 2 has left an indelible impression on the mind of people who have been rooting for his performance and want to see more of him.
He dreamt of being an actor since his childhood but it took many years for him to finally make a mark.
He had his own insecurities that held him back from following his passion but he didn’t give up and has fought all the odds to achieve the success he has now.
View this post on InstagramIn an interview with PTI, he gave three statements that make us believe that dreaming big is not something people need to run away from and actors should try and let go of their insecurities to chase their dreams.
    1. His Insecurities About His HeightAfter featuring in supporting roles, actor Sharib Hashmi finally found his big-ticket as a lead character in Filmistaan.
He was insecure about his height as he felt that many supporting actors were taller than him. He always thought his height will be a major obstacle but things have changed now as the audience roots more for talent than the stereotypes of conventional looks for a hero.
He said, “When I grew up, I was just 5'4 feet and felt that I couldn’t become a hero, so I thought I don't want to become anyone else. But I wanted to do something in this line so I worked as an assistant director and started writing non-fiction shows for MTV and Channel V.”
Now, he is an actor that people are getting inspiration from and this way, he has proved that actors can win over their insecurities.
View this post on Instagram 2. Financial CrunchWhen he followed his passion for acting, he was surrounded by financial insecurities. He fought with all the ups and downs and continued to find the way that led him to success.
“There have been a lot of ups and downs in my career. I decided against taking up acting and faced daily rejections. I was in a very bad state financially and finished all my savings,” said the actor.
The financial crunch forced Sharib to return as a writer to television, but soon he got the offer to work in Yash Chopra's 2012 romance drama Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
    3. No Insecurities About The Length Of RoleWe have seen reports of many actors dropping projects because of the length of the roles. Here we have Sharib who has won over this insecurity too and believes that it’s more to do with the depth of the character than the length.
He said, “I don’t want to put myself into any category that I want to be the main lead or play the most important role. Length of the role doesn’t matter, what I look at it, is how pivotal it is to the story and who is the team on board.”
View this post on InstagramTalking about the success of his show, he added, “The first season had set a benchmark for itself and it was an advantage for all of us. Personally, I received a lot of love for season one, but this time the reaction has been crazy. This is happening for the first time in my career. I am on cloud nine. Things are out of control. I didn’t expect it to surpass my expectations and I am feeling very emotional about it. For years I was craving for recognition and I am glad I got it from JK.”
His statements make an impact, and every inspiring actor can cue from his struggle to make their journey worth it.

The Board on Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been doing an incredible job of covering every single day of practice of the Indian cricket team and showing glimpses of the sessions that the Men in Blue have been putting in ahead of the World Test Championships finals at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
In the latest footage shared by the Indian cricket board’s official Twitter account, very brief highlights from the intra-squad match can be seen with the biggest names of the sport, including Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja loosening up to the England conditions and finding their rhythm slowly but surely.
The third day of intra-squad match simulation was about settling down & finding that rhythm. #TeamIndia

    Here's a brief recap pic.twitter.com/WByZoIxzT6
    — BCCI (@BCCI) June 14, 2021
And while the 56-second video was pretty much a compilation of the practice shots, it was what happened in the final few moments which left the followers completely awestruck and in love with a recent fan-favourite - Shardul Thakur and his dedication towards the team’s cause to final the finals.
In the end, Rishabh Pant in the practice kit can be heard talking loudly to someone senior, presumably their head coach Ravi Shastri saying that Thakur left to practice in the nets as soon as the match-time for the day was over.

An impressed Pant with a smile on his face could be talking highly about his fellow teammate and arguably someone who could be the key to the success or failure of the Indian squad in the one-off red-ball clash against New Zealand to be crowned the first-ever World Test Champions.

In the next scene, Thakur could be seen exhausted, with his head bowed down but his left hand raised high above, as he walked towards the nets to further improve his skills with the bat.

On the other hand, the Blackcaps look to be in phenomenal form as they roll over Joe Root’s Englishmen in the second of two Tests in just three days. With the return of Trent Boult by their side, the Kiwis just took their bowling attack to the next level. However, one of the biggest names in the squad, Kane Williamson had suffered an injury in his left elbow during the first Test and was ruled out of the match that followed. Assuming that the injury isn’t too severe, the skipper should be back before the big game.

India will take on New Zealand for the first-ever World Test Championship between 18-22 June at the Ageas Bowl cricket stadium in Southampton.

Russia has one of the largest armies in the world: the fifth-largest, to be precise.
Now though, they want to take things up a notch and are going to try and clone actual human beings for their army.
    © Reuters
People who know even a little bit about the former Soviet Union, and Russia will know, that no matter what happens, you don’t mess with the Russians. There’s a very good reason for that.

You certainly must have seen the endless, “Only in Russia” memes by now.
    © Reddit/r/Only_In_Russia
Just consider the fact that their leader, Vladimir Putin, doesn’t give two hoots of what non-Russians think of him and about the country and the fact that he has a cult following among his people.

    © Reuters
The defence minister of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, who heads one of the most active defence forces in the world, had been tasked with the duty to ensure that more people join the Russian army. One of his ingenious solutions? Trying to clone human soldiers.

    © AFP
Also, do consider the fact that they aren’t trying to clone ordinary Russian soldiers. They’re trying to clone a 3000-year-old clan of warriors, called the Scythians.

To give you a brief context, the Scythians were a tribe of people from the area that is present-day Iran and were basically nomads. They travelled across Eurasia and were the predecessors to the Mongols.

A decade or two ago, the Russian Army and a group of Russian anthropologists discovered a grave of soldiers in Siberia. Because of the extremely low temperatures, the skeletons and some organic materials of the soldiers were well preserved.

The Defense Minister said that this actually gave them a lot of material to work with.

Sergei Shoigu very subtly hinted at the fact that Russia indeed is trying to clone the army.

Now, is it scientifically possible to clone a human being? Well, theoretically, it is. People who follow science will know that scientists had successfully cloned a lamb, and named her Dolly, who grew up to be known as Dolly, The Sheep.
With that being said, there has been no successful cloning of a human being. At least not one that has been made public yet.

Maybe, in another 20 years, Russia may as well be the first country, to have a league of cloned, supersoldiers.

Rahul Dravid was not only one of the best players to have played for the Indian cricket team in the longest format of the game, but was also the one with the coolest, calmest brains on the field.
However, when it came to the shortest format of the game, especially in the Indian Premier League, our favourite Indiranagar ka Gunda has had his share of controversial moments and heated arguments on more than one occasion.

During the sixth edition of the Indian T20 league back in 2013, Dravid was leading the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals into the postseason qualifiers, and had the daunting task of taking on Mumbai Indians.
And it was in this match that MI pacer and Australian veteran, Mitchell Johnson decided to forget who he was thinking about getting in a war of words with and started blabbering to Dravid.
Rahul Dravid did too before Virat Kohli again Johnson! ️

    — Mahi (@KohlizBitch) June 7, 2021
Seeing that RR were having trouble putting runs on the board, Johnson thought that this would be the best time to throw Dravid off his game by talking trash to him. So in the middle of the third over, after ‘the Wall’ struck him for an off-drive four, the Aussie would mock him, supposedly for ‘finally hitting the ball with the middle of the bat,’ according to the match commentators’ speculations.
On a mission to shut his opponent up, Dravid managed another boundary, with a cheeky flick this time, only to glare straight into Johnson’s soul, ridiculing him for trying to get on his nerves.
The RR skipper went on to have a 43-run innings off 37 deliveries at the opening spot, while also becoming the top-scorer for his team. Unfortunately, Dravid’s efforts and aggression weren’t enough to keep his squad sailing.
    2013 Champions
    2015 Champions
    2017 Champions
    2019 Champions
    2020 Champions

The most successful IPL team in history.

Are Mumbai Indians the greatest domestic T20 side ever? pic.twitter.com/vX6tWqCCud
    — ICC (@ICC) November 10, 2020
A massive 62-run innings by Dwayne Smith and a 35-run support by Aditya Tare in the opening partnership gave MI exactly the start which boosted the squad while managing to win it all with just one ball remaining on the board.
The Mumbai team would go on all the way to the finals and defeat legacy rivals, Chennai Super Kings to win their very first IPL championship and begin their journey to becoming the most successful franchise in the tournament at the moment with five titles under their name and in the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Recently, Amika George was picked as the youngest recipient of the Queen’s Birthday Honours for this year as she pushed the UK government to provide free period products in schools and colleges.

The 21-year-old student studies history at the University of Cambridge and both her parents are from Kerala in India. She said, “It wasn’t an easy one for me with the Honours system’s association to the (British) Empire and our Colonial past.”
She also said, “It’s really important for me to show that young people have power in our voices, much more than we realize. We have often been overlooked in political spaces, and the MBE shows that we are slowly being recognised as real changemakers who can influence government.”
    © Amika George IG
“That change doesn’t have to be done from within the walls of Westminster, or the White House, or the Indian Parliament. Anyone can orchestrate change. I would like young people of colour to see that we are being recognised, and that if we are willing to jump from a place of safety and rise, we can create something better,” she added.

Amika George is picked for Member of the Order of the British Empire which is the third-ranking award on the list. She’ll be receiving this for her campaign against period poverty #FreePeriods.
She had started this campaign at the age of 17 and she started it as it made her angry that so many girls in the UK were missing school every month as they were too poor to afford period products.

She then filed a petition and met with the ministers and later the UK government in 2020 funded educational institutes to provide free period products. Free Periods is now a not-for-profit organisation, which continues to fight against the taboo and shame surrounding menstruation.

She said, “On behalf of my family and community who have silently had to tolerate racism over decades, who felt like they never fitted in, who never felt British enough, who never felt seen”.
