Arjun Kapoor had earlier expressed that he would invest his life’s savings into the online fundraising platform Fankind. He also reacted to the criticism celebrities these days face for their humanitarian ventures.
Celebrities often receive a lot of flak for publicizing their charity work and even if they don’t announce it they are trolled for not doing their bit amid a crisis. So, either way, Bollywood celebrities are in trouble.
    View this post on Instagram
Talking about the same to HT, Arjun Kapoor said, “At the end of the day, people have a right to their opinion. Everybody has an opinion about everything. Opinions today are very easy to float because you have a computer or a keyboard in front of you and you can type what you feel. Half the time, people don’t even know what they are typing and they don’t mean what they say. You can’t get upset and react to everything, and I also don’t owe anyone an explanation.”

He further said, “If today, I don’t do something, I don’t owe you an explanation. If I do something, I don’t owe you an explanation. If I do something behind the scenes, I don’t need to come out and tell you what I am doing, and if I am doing something and I want to tell you, that is my business, that I want people to know that I am doing something good. Each celebrity, each individual is unique in what they are experiencing and feeling. You are allowed to take care of yourself before you take care of others. You are allowed to take care of everybody and not bother about yourself. It is very individual.”
Arjun also expressed how people expect celebrities to act like superheroes and completely forget that they are also human. He said, “Celebrities get bunched up and clubbed into this jhund (flock) of people who are supposed to come together and help the world exactly like superheroes, and then they are supposed to be accountable at all times. They have to also take care of themselves. Some people like to take a backseat, some like to step in the foreground because they have the capability. It’s a human thing, it’s not a celebrity thing. Not every human being you know is going out there and doing everything, right? Some are, some are not in a position to, and celebrities are no different. We are humans. I don’t have a take on it beyond this.”

“I just feel like there is a lot of noise that comes with the territory. You have to just do what you feel and it is absolutely okay. I say this to anybody watching if they worry or wonder about perception -- ‘Am I doing enough?’ -- it’s okay. Please do not feel pressured. Take care of yourself, take care of people around you. And even if you are doing things, you don’t have to put it out there. And if you are putting it out there, there is nothing wrong with that either, because you are motivating and encouraging people. There is no right or wrong in this, it is very personal and subjective. People have to get rid of their opinions and at least respect some dignity and some privacy about these things. Everybody should be allowed to do what they feel right, whether doing extra and flaunting it at that point so that people get influenced or somebody saying, ‘I don’t like to talk about it or flaunt it.’ Both sides are right and we must learn to be respectful of it,” he added.

As India continues to struggle with the pandemic, many people, especially daily wagers have found it really difficult to make ends meet. However, it seems like the pandemic hasn't affected the who’s who of the entertainment industry at all. After Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan, reports are making the rounds that Ajay Devgn has purchased a bungalow for an insane amount.
    View this post on Instagram
The bungalow, which is spread across 590 sq yards, is located near Devgn's existing bungalow, Shakti. The locality houses the residences of other celebrities including Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Akshay Kumar. According to a report in TOI, the Singham actor bought the particular bungalow for around Rs 60 crore.
Devgn’s spokesperson confirmed to TOI that the actor has purchased the property located in the very lane where he currently resides. The report also suggests that Ajay and Kajol have been looking for a new home in Mumbai for the past one year. The deal was finalized in November last year and the property was transferred in the name of Ajay and his mother Veena Virendra Devgan earlier this month.
    View this post on Instagram
The report also added the bungalow was earlier owned by the late Pushpa Valia. Some of the real estate sources added that the existing rate of the bungalow is around Rs 65 to 70 crore but the actor might have got it at the discounted rate because of the pandemic. The sources also added that he has taken possession and has also started the renovation of the property. We wonder how much it would finally cost after the renovation.
And here we are struggling to pay our bills, thanks to our meagre salaries.
On the work front, Ajay Devgn will be a part of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming RRR, also starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. The magnum opus is currently in the post-production stage. He will also be seen playing the lead role in Maidaan.

Maidaan is inspired by the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who put India on the global map. The film has already been shot across Lucknow, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Maidaan is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. The film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh. It is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta.

Sushil Kumar was taken to Haridwar on Monday by the Delhi Police Crime Branch according to a report by The Times of India in order to do further investigation in the murder case of wrestler Sagar Rana, who was beaten to death by a group of goons and the Indian Olympian, according to the video footage revealed by the officials.

The law enforcers have not only gotten an extension on Kumar’s custody until Friday, and they are now using him to explore the various hideouts he had access to while absconding before his arrest was made. They are also searching for all those who helped him get away from the police after the FIR was filed against him and an arrest warrant was issued in his name.
According to sources, Kumar had first run away to Haridwar after learning that Rana had died from the injuries inflicted upon him. The officials are also hoping to get their hands on the mobile phone which the 38-year old accused had ditched in the ancient city.

The clothes he’d worn at the time of the crime is yet to be found.
Police have announced the involvement of 13 personnel in the murder case out of which they have already managed to arrest nine. The remaining four are still absconding but have been successfully identified.
On numerous occasions, Sushil Kumar has spoken about how he had no intentions of killing Rana and all he wanted was to scare him a bit. He had also spent the first night of interrogation sobbing, hungry, and sleepless and had expressed his regret.

As the days go by, more and more stories of Kumar’s involvement in other criminal activities are coming forward, including a case of bullying and assault on a Delhi shopkeeper Satish Goyal, who was owed Rs. 4 lakh in credit for ordering regular orders of ration during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020.
"I will die if I don't get the payment for the rations provided," Goyal had told Kumar, to which the wrestler said: “Oh! You will die? Then OK, die!”
He then beat up the poor businessman along with his boys.

Xiaomi has seemingly broken the record for charging a smartphone in the fastest time possible. Last year, the Chinese company showed off its 100W wired fast charging that could fully charge a 4,000 mAh battery in a smartphone in 17 minutes. Now it seems like the company has made further advancements in charging tech.
    © Xiaomi
The company demonstrated the new charging tech using a modified Mi 11 Ultra with a 200W wired charger. In the video, one can see the smartphone get fully charged from 0% to 100% in 8 minutes. The phone reached 0-10% in 44 seconds, 50% in 3 minutes and was fully charged five minutes later. The video also shows a 120W wireless charging demo where the modified Mi 11 Ultra was fully charged using a wireless charger in 15 minutes.

Xiaomi calls the new tech “HyperCharge” but says that the 200W charger is not ready for commercial release as of now. Currently, Xiaomi sells a 120W fast charger commercially which launched alongside the Mi 10 Ultra. Xiaomi opted to not use the charger for future devices including the Mi 11 Ultra due to concerns of reduced battery lifespan.
    © Xiaomi
Fast chargers are becoming the norm for devices launched by numerous smartphone OEMs. We’ve already seen companies like Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo and Realme adopt faster-charging methods for smartphones that launched in 2020 and 2021. Having said that, this demo makes Xiaomi the first company to offer a 200W charger for its devices even though it isn’t ready for commercial release.

Currently, it is unclear which protocol Xiaomi is using for HyperCharge, however we suspect that the charger does use some form of Power Delivery charging. OPPO, OnePlus and Realme all use the VOOC charging protocol that is proprietary to the BBK electronics umbrella. Currently, OPPO and Realme both offer 125W fast charging for their devices and it would be interesting to see if the companies will respond with their own solutions to match Xiaomi’s HyperCharge performance.

Ravindra Jadeja is like having three elite-level players for the price of one and whatever team he plays for, be it the national squad of the Chennai Super Kings side of the Indian Premier League, they should be thanking their stars for having found such a talent.
A fielder batsmen consciously try to avoid, a bowler who can get you crucial wickets when it matters the most, and a batsman who is unafraid to take responsibility, manage to keep his shots in check and go for the big ones when his team needs it, the 32-year old can do all things.
Ravindra Jadeja had an unbelievable night out in #IPL2021 - dropped on zero, 37 runs off the one over on his way to a 28-ball 62, plus three wickets and a direct hit run out! 🤯

    : BCCI-Sportzpicshttps://t.co/RvTNacWntt pic.twitter.com/OyICDBiamy
    — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) April 25, 2021
While his expertise in the fielding and bowling department allowed him to achieve success early in his life, while winning the U-19 World Cup under Virat Kohli’s  captaincy in 2008, he remained an on-and-off member of the senior roster ever since making his international debut in 2009.
During India’s World Cup 2015 campaign, the southpaw was struggling to prove his worth for a spot in the top-roster. In the eight matches played by the team, he had only managed to scalp nine wickets while failing to make an impact on the batting end.
    View this post on Instagram
For Jadeja to reach his true potential, he needed to add that third angle to his game, he needed to become the chaotic yet organised hitter that he is today.
In a conversation with The Indian Express, India’s favourite all-rounder explained how a small piece of advice after the 2015 World Cup loss from his former captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, allowed him to make himself the complete package, which the Men in Blue were dying to have onboard.
    View this post on Instagram
“I remember he said that I was trying to hit shots against balls I shouldn’t be attempting. Shot selection was something I also felt I was doing wrong. My judgement at the start wasn’t right. I would be in double mind. ‘Should I go for the shot, or no?’ These days, I like to take my time and I am clearer in my mind. I know I can always cover up the runs later. That change in thinking has helped,” Jadeja said.
“About bouncers, yes when you hit a six against short ones, the confidence increases. I never had a problem against bouncers – as in I don’t remember getting out too many times to it or thinking I can’t play it. It was about the selection of shots and my balance,” he added.
    View this post on Instagram
Having recovered from a severe thumb injury that he had picked during India’s tour of Australia, Jadeja looked in form during the first half of the Indian Premier League before it was suspended due to a break in the bio-bubble.
The bat-swirling star is expected to play a crucial role for Kohli’s side in the one-off World Test Championship match against Kane Williamson’s New Zealand roster between 18 and 22 June.

People in Uttar Pradesh sure love their booze, and even the government knows this.
So much so, that a District Magistrate has come up with an ingenious solution to help people get over their vaccine hesitancy, and finally, get vaccinated.
    © BCCL
The District Magistrate’s Office of Etawah has put out an order, making it mandatory for liquor shops to check the vaccine certificates of people who come to buy liquor.

If a patron is unable to produce such their certificate, they will not be served.
    © BCCL
Additional District Magistrate Hem Kumar Singh ordered that notices should be posted outside government-owned liquor outlets in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah district which reads, "Liquor will be sold only to those who are vaccinated."

    © ANI
Uttar Pradesh has one of the highest vaccine hesitancy rates in India.

As per the reports of a notable online news platform, Uttar Pradesh has partially vaccinated (i.e. at least one shot has been delivered) only 4.40 per cent of its population, as opposed to the national percentage of 9.24 per cent.
    © BCCL
Although there has been no official order from the government, and nor the DM’s office, this move is actually being lauded for the ingenuity of the move.

The Uttar Pradesh Government announced that from June 1, COVID curfew and restrictions will be relaxed in a phased manner, starting with districts that have less than 600 open cases of people suffering from the disease.
    © BCCL
Shops and markets in districts with less than 600 active cases will be allowed to operate from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Meanwhile, people on Twitter had quite a few interesting things to say about this development:
