Riz Ahmed's recent win has escalated talk around his Oscar nomination

Four days… it took Kieron Pollard just four days to break his own ‘Mankading’ rule when his Mumbai Indians squad found itself to be in trouble against the Punjab Kings and runs needed to come by any means necessary.
On Tuesday, the Windies all-rounder had gotten upset that Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan would walk out of the crease at the non-striker’s end, even before he had delivered a ball.
Pollard would then go on to warn the southpaw in front of the on-field umpire, as the two went about their ways.

However, on Friday, the reigning champions found themselves to be in a tricky situation.
With one of the most low-scoring Power Plays in the history of the league, MI became more and more desperate for runs as PBKS bowlers Mohammed Shami, Moises Henriques, Deepal Hooda, and Ravi Bishnoi tightened their grip with some early wickets and efficient overs.
And when the burden of making runs fell on Pollard’s shoulders, he conveniently decided to forget his own rule about stepping out of the crease and ran way before Shami had delivered the ball.

— Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) April 23, 2021 Fans, especially loyal to previous year’s runners-up DC, were quick to notice the double-standards and dug-deep into their box of criticisms to put down the 6’4’’ giant.
Cannot wait to see a MANKAD so that these can stop. This should be against the rules!! @BCCI @IPL @ICC DO SOMETHING #pollard #MIvPBKS pic.twitter.com/tmKgl6lGma
— All About Cricket (@allaboutcric_) April 23, 2021Nothing against Pollard doing that but...
As a bowler... He is playing by the books... And as a batsman tryin to advantage... Mankad chesi... Butler gaadi la show chesthe appudu thappu pic.twitter.com/msnVECwQWF
— Charit (@charitg) April 23, 2021Other day Pollard was looking to Mankad Shikar Dhawan vs DC, now this.🤷
— Satish Kumar (@imsatishkumar39) April 23, 2021Bowler should stop in his delivery stride and mankad Pollard....I would laugh so much.... #IPL2021
— Innocent Bystander (@InnoBystander) April 23, 2021 At the end of the day, any of it did not matter as Pollard’s unbeaten 16-run innings had little to no impact on the sheer confidence with which KL Rahul’s side was playing at Chennai’s Chepauk stadium.
It took PBKS less than 18 overs to successfully chase down MI’s 136-run total, while winning the match with nine wickets to space.
Rahul’s unbeaten 60-run stint in the middle earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ honour while a striking old-school batting masterclass by Chris Gayle pushed him to a 43-run innings in just 35 deliveries.

After finally picking up their second win of the season, Punjab Kings finally rise to the middle of the IPL Points Table and are only below MI on the basis of the Net Run Rate.
With the IPL 2021 still in its early days, the competition has once again opened up for the resurging squad.

India has been left reeling from the second wave of Coronavirus that has hit the nation, with an alarming rise in the number of positive cases and deaths.

Indians have united their will and resources by pitching in and going out of their way in every manner possible to help out their neighbours and loved ones, and it shows the inner strength of a nation that is not willing to just sit back and watch fellow citizens suffer.
And now, joining India’s efforts is its neighbour Pakistan, who has been sending messages of hope, love and positivity, along with assurances of help in any manner possible.
Faisal Edhi of Pakistan’s Edhi foundation writes to India offering help regarding the surge of Covid cases in India and the resulting lack of oxygen.

The hash tag #PakistanStandsWithIndia began trending after Pakistani netizens rallied together to pray for their Indian neighbours and called on the Imran Khan-led government to send the necessary help.
#PakistanstandswithIndia is a top Twitter trend in Pakistan.
Humbled by the outpouring of love from liberal Pakistanis.
This shows that many educated Pakistanis love Indian Hindus even though their government continues to instigate them.
Dear Pakistan, thank you for your prayers.

It has been a while since Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has been using the entire of Bollywood as her punching bag with a barrage of remarks and Tweets, left, right, and center.
The Queen actor has been at the center of several controversies since last year and every time she has a take on profound issues, people sometimes can't help but roll their eyes and say "here we go again!".

But this time it seems Kangana raised eyebrows for a different reason.
She recently took to Twitter and reacted to fellow actor Sonu Sood's quick recovery from Covid-19. Sonu was diagnosed with the virus earlier this month and has now tested negative.
In the tweet, Kangana told Sonu that he recovered because of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and told him to 'maybe appreciate India-made vaccine as well as its effects"
She wrote, "Sonu ji you had the first shot of the vaccine and I see because of that you recovered very fast, maybe you want to appreciate India made vaccine and its effects, also encourage people to take the vaccine so that tons of it doesn’t get expired post 1st May like before."

— Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) April 23, 2021 Here's how the people reacted to it:
Sir, you will survive because you have blessings from crores of people.
— KRISHNAKANTH REDDY (@KRISHNA96245026) April 23, 2021Sonu sood gave 50% of his income for the downtrodden and poor.I salute such actor for his service to upheld humanity. He is an fine example for the mankind .He said let's do the talk through humanitarian way and helping each other.@SonuSood .Jai Hind.

All he should praise and encourage is lord Sonu..
Wait for another video of him reading letters which hail him as superhero and blushing🦸
— Tabby (@tabby_ka) April 23, 2021 Also, some people spoke against Kangana's remark as well, saying her comment was uncalled for.
He has also helped a lot of people. What have you done?
— Emperor H (@andolantrump) April 23, 2021Don't compare urself with him. And gyan tao Bilkul bhi mat Dena. Aapse zayada samjhdaar aur Desh ko Seva kar rahe hai.
— R.S (@stayhomehappy1) April 23, 2021Ma'am Don't tell him what to do and what not to do. Every indians know their responsibility and they will do best of their part. Please do not be medical representative. Government is responsible for the current situation of corona cases not the public in my opinion.
— kaushal4world.kk@gmail.com (@Kaushal4worldK) April 23, 2021 Sonu took to Instagram on April 17 and announced that he had tested negative for the virus.
He did so in a unique way and was seen wearing a Tommy Hilfiger grey T-shirt. The neon mark that says '-ve' in the image caught everyone's attention.

He captioned the picture and wrote, “Tested: COVID-19 Negative”. He had also received the first dose of the vaccine on April 7.
Sonu has been forefront in helping migrant workers, students and so many other people in the country in need amidst the pandemic.
His efforts have made people see him in a whole new light and have earned him the tag of something of a Messiah. In the midst of this, he suffered the brunt of the virus but wasn't really unhappy about it.
He took to Twitter recently, expressing his concern. “Can’t sleep..In the centre of the night time when my telephone rings, all I can hear is a determined voice pleading to save his/her family members. We live in powerful instances however tomorrow goes to be higher, simply maintain your reigns tight. Together we are going to win. Just we’d like some extra palms.”
On the work front, Sonu had announced a new project titled Kisaan. He also has a few more projects in his kitty for this year.

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor has proven time and again that he certainly has a rather zany sense of style.
Besides that, he is also a long-term advocate for sneakers and he is no stranger to wearing quirky pairs. In fact, he lays his hands on some of the most expensive pairs that really have us standing in attention.
With that in mind, he just made a case yet again for not just a sick pair of shoes but also the poncho and shorts that he wore. We're all for it!

The shorts are Eric Emanuel EE Basic Snakeskin Short Blue. These shorts come with a unique design but are worth quite a lot, just for a basic pair.
These retail for Rs 15,120.
