A Hong-Kong based air freight company has announced a ban on Vivo smartphones after a major fire that occurred over the weekend. A shipment of Vivo Y20 phones caught fire right before it was about to be loaded into a Hong Kong Air Cargo that was bound for Thailand, The Standard reported.
© Twitter
Videos of the shipment on fire posted online show the blazing fire in full effect. It shows the fire started with one pallet that later spread to two more. Pictures of the incident that were shared online show numerous Vivo branded smartphone boxes. Needless to say, the burning of the shipment could have cost lives if the fire occurred while the plane was in flight. The fire took 40 minutes to put out and resulted in an unspecified number of smartphones being damaged.

— Solo Shokeen (@SoloShokeen) April 11, 2021
Now, many Airline industry outlets are reporting that Hong Kong Air Cargo has banned Vivo devices and two air freight companies until further notice. As of now, the cause of the fire is not known but it is possible that it could have been caused by the lithium-ion batteries. Batteries in smartphones can cause fires if they are defective, damaged or trigger a chemical reaction. This has happened before in the past where the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 infamously caught fire in 2016.
What’s surprising is that the shipment caught fire right before it was loaded onto the aircraft. So a pressurised cabin cannot be blamed in this situation which could point to faulty or damaged batteries. Even the slightest of fires can cause an aeroplane to crash and in this case, it could have resulted in a catastrophic crash.
Git this on a chat. Anyone can verify? Don't know the date but it's from #HongKong #HKG airport.

Vivo is currently investigating the cause for the fire and said in a statement to Android Authority, “We have paid high attention and immediately set up a special team to work closely with the local authorities to determine its cause.” Vivo will keep the media and public informed about any further developments.
Vivo sells the Y20 in India too and there is no confirmation as to whether batteries on the Indian models could cause a fire as well. We will update the story once Vivo comes out with an explanation on what actually happened.

Arjun Kapoor made his debut with the film Ishaqzaade in the year 2012 after working as an assistant director and associate producer for films like Kal Ho Naa Ho and Wanted. His debut film was well-received by the audience and did extremely well on the box office.
He is almost nine years old in the industry and has done a handful of films that didn’t do very well. As an actor, Arjun Kapoor couldn’t impress the audience and people have also trolled him many times on the internet saying that he is just another product of nepotism.
However, even after his films failing at the box office he has managed to stay in Bollywood and make it big. He is the son of one of the biggest Indian film producers Boney Kapoor. Here are 5 expensive things he bought himself and made us believe that it’s not all ‘papa ka paisa’.
Land Rover Defender View this post on Instagram
Recently, Arjun Kapoor bought a Land Rover Defender and took his car for a ride and the paparazzi clicked him in Juhu. The car is worth Rs 1 crore.

The watch is worth over Rs 27,57,000 and is designed for nautical sportsmen and is made of 18 karat gold. The watch is waterproof and the robust qualities of this watch make it best for water sports and sailing in particular. Also, this is one of the costliest watches worn by Arjun Kapoor.

Arjun Kapoor also invested in an emerging food start-up in the year 2019. The startup focused on reaching out to stay-at-home women cooks and empower them as entrepreneurs through their platform.

When we speak of cricketers and watches, the first two names that pop into our heads are Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli. Both of them have often been spotted, wearing some of the most collectable and dopest timepieces that money can buy. But what about someone like Krunal Pandya?
© Instagram/krunalpandya_official
Krunal Pandya on the other hand is a name that rarely pops up in conversations around watches. This is in spite of the fact that he has some of the most exquisite timepieces, that would even make Virat Kohli green with envy.
© Instagram/krunalpandya_official
We take a look at a few of Krunal’s most exquisite timepieces, from his insanely expensive watch collection.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold - $71,000 or Rs 53.49 Lakhs © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
We begin with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in Frosted Gold. As the name suggests, this is a watch whose case is made of 18K White Gold, a precious metal that is super expensive. One of the rarest APs out there, this is a gem of a piece that is highly sought after.
Breitling Navitimer 1 B01 Chrono 46 - $9,250 or Rs 6.9 Lakhs © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
The cheapest watch on this list, the Breitling Navitimer is a watch that was designed specifically for maritime workers and naval officers, as it has functions that help in map-reading and naval navigation. The watch is made primarily out of steel and uses some exquisite rubies in its movement.
Rolex GMT Master 2 18K Rose Gold Gem Set - $151,600 or Rs 1.14 Crores © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
As far as Rolex timepieces are concerned, this is one of the most blinged-up pieces that money can buy. This is also a super rare timepiece, because Rolex, doesn’t usually set gems and diamonds for their GMT timepieces. Like with all high-demanded Rolex watches, you will have to pay substantially more if you want to get your hands on one of these.
Rolex Day Date 40 Evorose Gold - $34,000 or Rs 25.61 Lakhs © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
Up next, we have a somewhat sombre watch from Rolex. The Day-Date is a classic piece, and highly sought after, thanks to its simplistic aesthetic, and simple, clean design. By all means, this is as classic, as an expensive, golden Rolex gets.
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow - $96,000 or Rs 72 Lakhs © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
The Cosmograph Daytona is again, one of the most sought after pieces, for Rolex collectors. It is anyway expensive, thanks to the limited number of stocks that Rolex push out. The Rainbow version is even more expensive than the regular one, mainly because of the gems that are set at the Rolex factory. Oh, and that Rs 72 Lakhs price tag, is just the retail price. You will have to spend a whole lot more if you actually want to get your hands on one.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph - $30,200 or Rs 22.75 Lakhs © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
Another watch from AP that Krunal owns, is a blue-dialled Royal Oak Chronograph. This one has a case and strap that is made of the highest grade steel, along with a white gold dial, that has been coloured blue. The shape and silhouette of the watch is something that all horologists appreciate.
Patek Philippe 5980/1R Nautilus Black Dial - $165,000 or Rs 1.24 Crores © Instagram/krunalpandya_official
Finally, we have another Patek Phillipe and the most expensive one on this list. The watch has a waiting period of 8 years if you want to buy one from retail. That is one of the reasons why, this watch sells for $165,000, almost twice or thrice the original retail price. Like all Patek Philippe watches of late, this is highly sought after, not just by horologists, but watch enthusiasts in general.
The Bottomline…Krunal has some really exquisite timepieces and a very varied collection. We’re pretty sure that if we compare his collection to that of Hardik’s, Krunal will come out ahead by a mile. The sheer variety of watches and watchmakers that we see in his collection, is mind-boggling.

Last year, India and China faced off with each other at the Galwan Valley which caused an uproar in the country. There was a strong movement online to boycott Chinese products in India, however the reality was far from it. Though the Indian Government banned many Chinese apps in the country due to national security reasons, it did not stop Indians from buying Chinese products.
© Reuters
In a recent report by CounterPoint Research, Indian bought more Chinese smartphones in 2020 than ever before. In fact, Xiaomi led the market with a 26% shipment share that was followed by Samsung at 21%. However, what’s intriguing is that out of the top six smartphones brands in India, the list was dominated by five Chinese companies. Realme saw the highest growth with a rate of 22% YoY. Apple also witnessed its best-ever quarter in Q4 2020, selling more than 1.5 million units.
This isn’t where the story ends though, Chinese brands dominated the Indian smartphone market in every quarter of 2020. The only reason why Xiaomi saw a slight dip in market share was due to the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the early half of 2020.
© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
It is estimated that the Indian smartphone market crossed 100 million units in the second half of 2020 for the first time ever. Xiaomi led the market with its dominant budget-friendly smartphones, however it seems like the company will be shifting gears to mid-budget and premium devices in 2021.
It’s not spurring to see Chinese smartphone brands dominate the Indian market as these companies offer the most value for money products. We predicted last year that the trend would continue and that’s exactly what happened, regardless of the anti-China sentiment in the country. It would be surprising to see whether Samsung or other brands would overtake Xiaomi and other Chinese smartphone brands in the near future as tensions between the two countries have calmed down since then.

Like almost everything else in the world, social media too has two sides of the coin.
One, which is highly informative, keeps you up with the times and helps you stay close to your friends. And the other, which involves online bullying, hate comments, and the spread of misinformation.
Unfortunately in India, there has been a track record of misinformation remaining prevalent over the recent course of years through apps like Facebook and Whatsapp, to which the country remains the biggest market.
Following cases of mob-related violence and killings due to the spread of WhatsApp rumors back in 2017, the messaging app, launched a newspaper advertising campaign warning against fake news and announced changes for its Indian users that labeled forwarded messages into the category of being misinformation.
However, while things may have slowed down, they surely have refused to come to a permanent halt.
Recently, a video did rounds of social networking sites, which showed a police officer shooting down a man and his female friend at point-blank range in Haryana.
The video was shared on Facebook with the claim, which translated to "Policeman committed a murder of two people in broad daylight".
Image 1
People watching the gory video were horrified in the manner the two individuals were shot by the official in broad daylight in front of bystanders.
However, much to everyone's relief, the video was reported to be a part of a web series' shooting in Haryana's Karnal.
Rahul Srivastav, the Additional Superintendent of Police of the Anti-Terrorism Squad in the Haryana state clarified in his tweet that the video was staged.
"#FactCheck- A video of a gory murder by a cop outside a restaurant is floating since today morning on #socialmedia, triggering queries & confusion. On verification, it’s attributed to a #webseries shot outside ‘Friends Cafe’ in Karnal Haryana as per the manager of the Cafe." he tweeted.

— RAHUL SRIVASTAV (@upcoprahul) April 12, 2021 Soon after the clarification, social media users took to Twitter to express what they thought about it.
This kind of drama should be banned for general mass consumption and makers of such content should be black/grey listed as they propose filthy mindset and promote crass language.
— Subodh (@___subodh) April 13, 2021sir, we should discourage people to share this kind of videos and people should be strictly warned for this
— Ashutosh Kumar Rai (@ashutosh_3010) April 12, 2021This is very much expected from the police in india. Policemen do commit such crimes in india but they are not video taped like this. This is fake, however the scenario is not.
— NB (@nikhilbhalla2) April 12, 2021This kind of web series should be immediately banned as the same is giving a very wrong massage about our Police Dept and the person shooting it should be arrested immediately for shooting such scene in public place.
— DILIP BHATTACHARYA (@bhattachadilip) April 12, 2021What the hell, look at that small kid standing over there, that actress said some words and the violence created by the director , what kind of effects will that child suffer? You can not show such to kids man, Look at her reaction when cop shot that girl dead.
— Ameya P (@AmeyaPrabhawal1) April 12, 2021This type of #webseries should be banned. Because it'll make bad impact on citizens. The #Police department is always for safety of our citizens not to hurt them. pic.twitter.com/VFyTqFNr5C
— PRONIT.EXE (@NPronit) April 12, 2021Even this is ONE lousiest way, that they use to create "mongering" awareness. Probably the police force adjudicated to that region / place should take offence of this mongering & file a case to the Media house & its PR to book, immediately
— RK (@myrkrish) April 12, 2021 Then, someone shared what most of us would think when witnessing such a gruesome incident.
Sir, Now a days, there are number of such shootings happen in the Country. The videos are so Violent/ Dangerous and it is very difficult to identify the genuineness.
The blind Social media peoples, without applying their mind, make them viral at Public domain.

— Jitendra Chaturvedi (Official Account)️🔴🇮🇳 (@Jitendr37502078) April 12, 2021Surely, the video was not taken in good taste. Let us know what you think of it.

Chetan Sakariya made his debut for Rajasthan Royals in their opening clash against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League and stunned everyone with his performance. The left-arm Sakariya took three wickets and it was his astronomical catch that astonished everyone. It was in the 2021 IPL auction that he was picked up for Rs 1.2 crore by Rajasthan Royals.
What a stunner by Chetan Sakariya ! #RRvPBKS #chetansakariya pic.twitter.com/wSbxo02xX2
— Nasir khan (@Nasirkh80026140) April 12, 2021
He might be the star of today but he had to overcome many odds and personal battles to reach here. Here’s what all we know about his family and the struggles he had to go through in his life.
Tragic Personal Life1. Just a month prior to him being selected by the IPL, he lost his brother. In a heart-wrenching note shared by his mother with Around The Wicket, she said that Chetan’s younger brother had died by suicide and the family didn’t tell him because he was playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They kept the truth hidden from him for 10 days and when he got to know, he was devastated and didn’t eat or talk to anyone for a week as the two brothers were really close.
She said, “I hope nobody goes through the pain and struggles we went through. My second child, a son who was a year younger than Chetan, committed suicide a month ago. Chetan was playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at that time, which he finished as the sixth-highest wicket-taker. We didn’t inform him about his brother’s death for the first 10 days as we didn’t want his game to be affected. All we told him was that his father wasn’t keeping well.”
She went on to add, “Every time Chetan would call to ask about his father’s health, he would ask us to make him speak to his brother. But I'd change the topic. I wouldn't let him speak to his father too because I knew my husband would tell him the truth. But one day, I broke down on the call. After knowing of his brother’s death, Chetan didn't speak to anybody for a week. Neither did he eat. The two brothers were very close.”
View this post on Instagram2. His mother's note also revealed that the family didn’t have any financial backing per se as his father was a lorry driver and unfortunately, he had been bedridden after meeting with three accidents. The hardest part in his mother's note was that his father still hasn’t recovered from his younger son’s suicide, “He is yet to recover from our son’s suicide. Neither does he eat nor talk. I try my best to give him strength.”
3. As it was hard for the father to make ends meet financially, Chetan started to work at his maternal uncle’s shop so as to help his family. His mother also added that until five years ago, they didn’t even own a TV and it was from outside that they used to get updates of their son’s cricket career.
View this post on Instagram
4. Chetan’s younger brother was the only bread earner of the house but he too died by suicide, leaving the whole family stranded and it was Chetan’s IPL contract that gave the family much-needed hope. His mother said, “The first thing he wants to do with the money is buying us a house in Rajkot.”
5. Chetan’s mother also contributed to the family and still continues to do so with her embroidery work. She added, “I also contribute to the family income by doing stonework on sarees. When my children were small, I would leave them alone at home to go out and do embroidery. That money was used for their education.”
View this post on Instagram
6. She now feels that Chetan’s hard work has paid off and also said that ever since he got the contract, the media has been contacting them daily.
After listening to this, we truly respect the man that Chetan has become as he battled miseries to become the achiever he is today and it’s not that easy.
After his personal life, let’s head on to his professional career.
1. Chetan‘s skills are almost self-taught as it wasn’t until he was 16 that he had formal coaching of any kind. He used to copy Irfan Pathan and Zaheer Khan's actions while bowling.
2. It was six years ago that he created a stir when he played for Saurashtra in the Cooch Behar Trophy, where he picked up 18 wickets in six games, including 5 for 84 against Karnataka Under-19.
View this post on Instagram
3. Chetan made his senior team debut during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season and has so far featured in 15 first-class games, seven List A games, and 16 T20s.
4. In the latest development, he was picked by the Rajasthan Royals team at the February auction for Rs 1.2 crores and that has completely changed his fate.
Needless to say, Chetan's story can inspire a million others to fight against odds and achieve their dreams. We hope he has a successful career ahead of him.

An Apple iPhone 11 Pro that had a slight problem with its design was sold for over Rs 2 Lakh due to its rarity. Apple usually doesn’t let devices with misprints or design flaws get into the hands of customers due to its rigorous quality checking. However, there is always an exception to the rule and one iPhone 11 Pro with a misprinted logo got into the hands of a customer. The misprinted logo iPhone in question sold for $2,700.
© Internet Archive_Twitter
If you look at any iPhone, the logo is usually found right at the centre of the back of the phone, however in this case, the logo is slightly off the center to the right. You can see the prominent misplacement when looking at it at an angle. It is not known where this iPhone was sold, however it is indicative of a manufacturing error that got unnoticed by the quality control team.
A misprint iPhone 11 Pro that sold for 2700$. This misprint is extremely rare- I’d say 1 in 100 million or possibly even rarer. pic.twitter.com/68F7giZAbm
— Internal Archive (@ArchiveInternal) April 9, 2021
In the world of collectors, usually, items that fetch a high price have to be rare or have a defect that is not common to the item. For example, banknotes can sometimes have defects that increase their value significantly depending on their rarity. The same logic is applied here for the misplaced logo iPhone as it is a one in a million case.
© Internet Archive_Twitter
A similar case happened in 2015 where a customer found a defect in an iPad Pro where it had a very unique colour, a gold Touch ID and a silver back according to 9to5Mac. When the user contacted Apple about the problem, he was told it was an “extremely rare” manufacturing error and he would need to get a replacement. In the end, the customer decided to hold onto the iPad Pro as he was advised it could be worth a lot of money.
Have you ever come across an iPhone that has a noticeable defect? It could be worth a lot of money just like this iPhone that had a misplaced logo.
