Emraan Hashmi is someone who likes to keep it subtle and classy, and never 'overdoes' it in terms of matters related to style. After a longish break, he is now back with a bang, with exciting projects and the music video 'Lut Gaye' that has already taken YouTube by storm.
    View this post on Instagram
He was recently spotted in a super cool layered outfit, with a calculated style risk thrown in.

Emraan wore the rare faded grey jeans that once had a permanent place in denim royalty, but fizzled out for some weird reason. He paired it with a grey denim jacket, that made the outfit almost look like a co-ord set.

However, he chose to keep the humid weather in mind and gave it a layered spin instead with a classic - the plain white T-shirt, and finished it off with a pair of statement white sneakers. Even though we love the entire look, it's his sneakers that we had to focus on.

Emraan wore a pair of sneakers that sport laces and zippers, that sort of clash in terms of functionality. While the rules of fashion state that functionality trumps style, and each garment/outfit should have it clearly defined - based on which one should never pair suspenders with a belt - there are instances of that being flouted, with pleasant results. The perfect example would be this pair right here.

Add to that the substantial heel that these sneakers feature, and we have a pair that definitely spells out 'fashion gamble'. However, did it pay off? Yes, and how!

All we can say is, this man definitely knows how to elevate a seemingly simple outfit with a few quirks here and there, and that sometimes counts for a breath of fresh air in the hypebeast fashion jungle.

LG announced today that the company is quitting the smartphone business due to high losses in the mobile division. The company said in a statement that it will shut down the division to focus “resources in growth areas.” LG will now be focusing on electric vehicle parts, smartphone home products, robotics, artificial intelligence and B2B solutions.

LG will keep selling current smartphone models such as the Q-series, W-series, K-series, Wing and other models until the inventory lasts. The South Korean company will also provide service support and software updates for existing customers that will depend on the location of the customer. It is unclear which regions will continue to receive software updates at the moment and for which models. The company also said that it will work “collaboratively” with business partners and suppliers through this period of closure of the mobile division.

The company will shut down the entire division by July 31st, however it will continue to sell smartphones until inventory lasts. At the moment, current LG owners do not have much to worry about as the company will continue to support smartphones that are already out there for now. The company will also provide repair services for these particular models after the deadline as well.

LG has been looking to sell its mobile phone business due to the division consistently making losses. The company tried to talk to potential buyers, however it did not pan out for the company. The South Korean giant was talking to at least two companies for the sale, however nothing materialised. LG faced fierce competition from Samsung and Chinese rivals that caused the company to suffer massive losses for the past six years.

Even though LG showed off its rollable phone earlier this year at CES 2021, the company will now be focusing on the B2B aspect for other smartphone OEMs like Samsung and Motorola. Now that the company is shutting down the business, a rollable phone by the smartphone maker looks quite unlikely.

In another story of ‘Dogs are the most loyal creatures’, a pet dog helped in catching a man who was trying to escape after raping a mentally challenged woman. The accused was caught by the woman’s family members after the dog’s continuous bark woke them up. They then found the man and handed him over to the police.

The incident took place in Tamil Nadu and the man was identified as 29-year old S DhilipKumar who works as a goldsmith. The accused went to the house of the victim on Friday night.

The woman, lived separately in the shed of their house while all other family members lived inside the house which was in the same compound.

The accused knew the house of the victim already and also planned everything accordingly. He also parked his car several meters away from the victim’s house.
The pet dog saw Dhilipkumar while leaving and he blocked him from going anywhere, bit on its pant, and prevented him from fleeing the spot. The woman’s family woke up from the continuous barking of the dog and rushed to the shed where they found the accused.
They also alarmed the locals who lived around their house and soon the man was handed over to the police.

After interrogation, police found few objectionable videos of the victim in the man’s phone. He also revealed that he had gone to the victim’s house twice before sexually assaulting her and also recorded it on his mobile phone. Now, he has been booked him under the relevant sections of IPC and he is remanded in judicial custody.

There's another heart-wrenching story where a dog proved it is indeed man's best friend. The landslide in Kerala’s Munnar swept the houses of 81 people, and the pictures that came after were devastating and heartbreaking to another level. But, images of Kuvi, a country dog searching for his loved ones among the debris, was even more shattering.
Kuvi led the search and rescue team then found the body of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who was missing.

The dog found the body of Dhanuska, whose family was the owner of the dog. The body of the little girl was found stuck in the debris in a river and had reached 4Kms away from the landslide spot.

After all, doggos are the most loyal. Aren’t they? Let us know in the comments section below!

Taking note of his achievements and the way he maintains his fitness, we got an opportunity to ask some questions to him related to his diet and nutrition.
What do you have for breakfast, mid-day snacks, lunch, and dinner? Since I train close to 3 hours daily, (1 hr strength and conditioning and 2 hours technique and sparring) I am allowed to take in more calories and carbohydrates than a regular person.
Breakfast for me is Oat-bran with skimmed milk and honey. I would occasionally add a Banana on the day I'm planning a heavy workout. The other option for me is an omelet with 4 eggs and a couple of slices of multigrain bread.
Lunchtime is usually chicken breasts with vegetables like broccoli, carrots, and cucumber.
I have an evening tea before training at around 4:30 pm along with a couple of biscuits.
Dinner is usually daal, green vegetables and 2 chapatis.
Again this varies depending on my upcoming tournament, if I have to put on muscle I'll add more calories and in case I have to cut weight, I will reduce my calories.
What are your preferred protein sources? View this post on Instagram
I love non-vegetarian food and therefore in an ideal world I’d have chicken and mutton every day, however, they take time to prepare, so in reality when I'm running from one workout to another, it's usually a couple of scrambled eggs on the go.
Any strict NO-NO in your diet?So I lived in and worked for a Brand Management company in London for 5 years and I saw how health-conscious my colleagues were and I learned a lot about avoiding eating out or eating oily from them. Most of them also played sports like football and seeing their cardio motivated me to stay away from junk foods.
I was addicted to Pepperoni Pizza sometime in the past but one day, after a poor training session, I decided to go ‘cold turkey’ and I cut it out completely and it's still a ‘no go’ food item for me.
I also have a massive sweet tooth which I try to keep under control as much as I can.
Do you have fruits every day? Any fruit do's and don'ts for athletes? View this post on Instagram
I eat most fruits, I generally avoid eating the ‘really sweet and high sugar’ fruits like mangoes. But I eat watermelon, pomegranate, banana, muskmelon, oranges regularly as long as they don’t exceed 25g of sugar.
What do you like to eat on cheat days?Working out is easy, but staying away from Irish Tiramisu from Big Chill Cafe is much more difficult.
How much do you invest in your diet considering your sport?I started to really invest in my diet post 30. In my 20’s I could eat anything and perform, however now, when I'm in my 30’s my diet plays a pivotal role to ensure I can compete with athletes even 10 years younger.

This year I have started experimenting with items like hemp seeds, chia seeds, quinoa, and Acai berries on my diet.
What diet would you advise for budding sportsmen in our country?Eat clean, eat fresh, eat home-cooked meals. I see a sports person's body as a racing car - the better the fuel, the better the performance.
Water and hydration are oftentimes ignored, drink between 2 to 4 liters of water every day along with some electrolytes.
    View this post on Instagram
Apart from his nutrition regime Siddharth also provided some insights for budding athletes of the country.
What would your advice be for budding fighters? The number one advice I'll give to future fighters is to fall in love with the sport. People who get into it for money or fame seldom make it through the grind and struggle of years of training 3 to 4 hours every day. If however, they love the sport, they love the techniques, the intricate nuances of strategy, and are able to maintain a singular focus, they achieve greatness in the sport.
    View this post on Instagram
The other advice I give to all our new fighters is to leave your ego and shoes at the door. Combat sports are so technical that no matter how gifted a new fighter is, he/she will be getting dominated in training for a few years. Therefore, having a big ego leads to these fighters quitting the sport as they are unable to withstand the defeats in the training room. It's the humble fighters who learn from their defeats and play the patient game, that rise to the top of our sport.
You also train fighters along with training yourself, please let us know about the talent our country has in this field?I started Cross-train Fight Club in 2013 and both awareness and talent were missing in the sport at the time. However, just in the last couple of years, we have finally managed to attract some high-quality athletes. The result is some of the best Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters in India come from Cross-train Fight Club.
In my opinion, in the next 5-10 years Indian fighters will win every major fight promotion in the world.
How has your journey been as an Indian fighter representing the country Internationally? View this post on Instagram
I started representing India in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling in 2015.
For the longest time, it was thought that Indians couldn’t make it to the International scene especially the ones living and training in India. So it's the most rewarding to win medals in tournaments where nobody expects to see an Indian, much less to see an Indian win.
To be on the podium with the Indian flag is the best feeling.

Film producer and entrepreneur Ashi Dua has always believed in producing and voicing important narratives through her films. From analogies like Bombay Talkies, Lust Stories and Ghost Stories, to her recent project Paava Kadhaigal, her projects have always had distinct qualities worth appreciating. The Emmy-nominated producer is also the founder of Flying Unicorn Entertainment. We caught up with her recently to understand what it is to be a producer in a fairly male-dominated industry, her big-wins and the changing rules for OTT platforms this year.
    1. What motivated you to become a film producer? What has your journey been like so far?
I’ve to say working with Anurag Kashyap for DevD and just generally realising what it takes to be a producer, how to set up a whole project from word go to script level to the finance to the marketing and I just think that the whole process excites me and that made me want to become a producer. My journey so far has been exciting, it had its share of ups and downs, but no complaints, as I have a long way to go.
View this post on Instagram2. Would you call yourself a feminist film producer after having done projects like Lust Stories and Ghost Stories?
I’m a feminist, I believe in equality and creating awareness for women for their voices and rights so I would like to say I’m a feminist by nature and sometimes it just translates through your work because anything that is slightly regressive and patriarchal will not get me excited and I wouldn't want to make it. So yes I think it’s organic.
    3. With the upcoming government mandates for OTT platforms, do you think it's going to be difficult to produce content than before?
Yes, it’s absolutely going to be difficult for a producer and content creators with all the government mandates. It’s still a blurred line on what is going to work and what is not going to work, in our country you don’t know who is going to have a problem with what, and it could be something that you may not have even preempted while producing a film, we can't foresee what could be a problem in the future. The rules are not clearly laid out, it is going to be difficult for content creators but because we live in this country, we will have to embrace the system and do our best within it.

    4. What would be your advice for someone who is starting out in the industry? What should be their first step to get the foot in the door?
My advice to anybody who is starting out would be: try being authentic as much as you can. There is no point in saying something along the lines of, 'I want to be like this person or someone else, or I’m going to follow someone’s journey' because that really never happens. There are a lot of people who’ll inspire you, they've inspired me too on a daily basis but you’ve got to set your path and figure out your journey and have your unique voice with what you are trying to say and stay as authentic as you can!

    5. While OTT platforms are miles ahead in producing content made by women, do you think mainstream Bollywood films still have room for improvement?
I don’t think both OTT and mainstream look at the content being created as women or men based. I personally don’t look at it like that! At least not any more since I’ve been part of the industry I have not experienced anything like that. That this is a women-based creator or otherwise, people don’t look at it like that. People have evolved and progressed drastically. I think people look at it through the lens of whether it's good content or not, the rest of it really doesn’t matter. If you’ve done something which is good and if you think it deserves the mainstream voice, I’m sure you’ll be able to pull it off. It is as difficult for a man as it is for a woman in that sense.
View this post on Instagram6. As an outsider, how difficult is it to break into the industry?
As an outsider it is difficult. I’m not going to say it is easy, it is extremely difficult to break into the industry. But today it is much easier than it was 5-10 years ago. The difference is that people are now more focused on what you bring to the table, what content you bring along with you and what stories you bring what you can pull off as opposed to who are you and where are you coming from. So, of course, it is difficult for an outsider but so many outsiders have made it and if you want to do something really incredible, there is always a way.
View this post on Instagram7. What does a typical workday look like for you as a film producer?
On a typical workday, now I’m going to talk about pre-pandemic because during a pandemic and even now and in the lockdown it’s been slightly different as we focused more on the development of stories with writers. But in the pre-pandemic world, it was like any other job you work, you have things set out for the day or for the week and you try to thrash it. So if you are in the middle of production it is extremely hectic to shoot. If you are in the middle of developing a project, you are spending time with writers and if you are doing your post-production, you are planning the release and marketing so it’s basically all different phases and that’s where you could be placed in terms of your project. But it’s extremely hectic throughout.

    8. Considering the industry is still fairly male-dominated, what are some of the struggles women face in particular?
Yes, the industry is still very male-dominated and there are still very few women directors and producers. I don’t think there are too many women directors either, so it is fairly male-dominated. I think the struggles women face in particular are, the struggles that I personally faced were more age-centric and gender-centric. I was very young when I started so I was questioned for my age what do you even know you don’t have too much experience, but I think that not a lot of women have tried too much I mean there are a lot of women editors, writers, art directors - a certain part of film making is actually more dominated by women but of course, the directors, and producers are still fairly male-dominated. And I think with each passing year, it’s increasing and people are more comfortable working in the industry and a lot of women are giving their best shot and are succeeding, so I hope the future has equal opportunities for women.
