Ravaging Kerala Floods Continue To Claim Lives: Why We Must Be Concerned About This Calamity

The incessant torrential rains that continue to threaten more lives and the grey clouds that loom large over the southern state of Kerala, have been giving the locals, the government and the country many a reason to worry and lose sleep. The unauthorised encroachments on the forest cover to mass deforestation and lack of concern towards the forest resources in the state are being blamed for the fatal floods, which have already claimed over 160 lives in Kerala, according to the latest reports. Areas Of Concern © Twitter The central and northern parts of Kerala have been affected the worst by the unceasing rainfall over the last few days. The death toll is on the rise even as we read about it and the floods are now being seen as a man-made disaster. 14 districts in the state continue to be on high alert with the gates of 35 out of a total of 39 dams being let open - a first in the history of the state. Flight and train operations have been put on hold due to excessive flooding and landslides. The Southern Railways has cancelled or rescheduled more than 25 trains in Kerala and while the water level in the Periyar river continues to rise, the Kochi Airport is submerged in water and operations have been suspended till the 26th. What The Experts Say © Twitter Renowned environmental scientist Madhav Gadgil has spoken out, claiming that the flood in Kerala occurred due to the unreliable environmental policies that have been put in place. He also expressed that if the Gadgil committee report for the protection of Western Ghats was paid heed to by the Kerala government, this havoc could have been controlled. He has also put substantial blame on quarrying for the landslides that are also plaguing the state. Losses That Are Increasing By The Day  © Reuters Locals in Kerala continue to suffer as the water level continues to rise. The unceasing rains have claimed many lives by swallowing houses and destroying roadways. Numerous instances of losses have surfaced over the last few days. During a mudslide at Kolappad on Thursday, a woman was killed when her house gave way under the onslaught. In another incident, 9 lives were taken away by a landslide in Vazhakkad on the afternoon of Wednesday, while the lives of a 6-year-old and her parents were lost, as the family was buried in their sleep in Pulikkal, when their house collapsed on Wednesday morning due to a landslide.  More than one and a quarter lakh people have been shifted to approximately 1165 shelters around Kerala and another 4000 families have been evacuated from the areas around the 123-year-old Mullaperiyar dam - a displacement arising out of the loss to precious lives and property. A Call For Help Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the situation remained unchanged seeking help and resources. The Prime Minister immediately responded with a press note stating that immediate help shall be put into effect and he is also set to visit Kerala today and undertake an aerial survey of the flood-hit state on Saturday. More help and resources can be expected to reach the state soon. Do Your Bit & #StandWithKerala © Twitter The mainstream media has been unable to report the incident efficiently and present the situation on the ground in its entirety. This is the time for the general public to make use of their social media outreach on a personal level and reach out to the masses to seek help and resources for the camps and shelters that are in operation in the flood-hit state, who are working day and night to provide for the ones suffering from the flood. Here's how you can help those affected by the unprecedented floods in Kerala. Now you can make donations online to Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund through the site,  https://t.co/OFHTHlZ9by #KeralaFloods #StandWithKerala. pic.twitter.com/XNlBKqdCUT — CMO Kerala (@CMOKerala) August 14, 2018 Help By Donating Here: https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in/ Here Are The District Control Room Numbers © Instagram Collectors of Kannur and Idukki have also sought help with non-monetary contributions such as clothes, blankets, utensils, grocery items, toiletries, umbrellas, non-perishable food items and other articles of immediate need. You can send any of these items to the following addresses 1. Control Room, Collectorate, Kannur - 670002, Phone No. 9446682300, 04972700645 2. The flood situation in Kerala has gone out of hand and while the death toll continues to rise, the nation is buckling up to help in whatever way possible.  While our celebs are coming forward and urging people to help, the real heroes are the people who are actually out there and genuinely helping people in need. A video of an Indian Navy officer airlifting a drowning kid in Kerala has gone viral on social media and the amount of respect the officer is gaining for this heroic deed is unimaginably high. #OpMadad #KeralaFloodRelief #keralafloods Flight Diver Amit rescues a small child from Aluva. Here's The Star-Studded Character List From Karan Johar's 'Takht' Starring Ranveer & Alia

Karan Johar's next venture is going to be nothing like we have ever seen before, at least from the ace director. Bringing a stellar cast together, the filmmaker is all set to go historical this time. Following Sanjay Leela Bhansali's steps, he is all set to take us down the Mughal era with his upcoming movie 'Takht'. Unlike most of his films, this one isn't a love story but an epic battle peppered with greed, ambition and betrayal that took place during the Mughal rule. Supremely Excited to announce the cast of #TAKHT!!!!! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Aug 8, 2018 at 6:38pm PDT Well, looking at the kind of movies Karan has directed so far, this news did come as a surprise to many. We can't say if the movie will be an epic journey like Bhansali's films or filled with K3G clichés. But the star-studded cast that he has assembled has us pretty excited for sure. Bringing the best of B-town, the movie stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and will hit the screens in 2020. While there still are a couple of years to go before we will witness the historic bloodbath, we do have some details about the project. Here's a complete list of who will play what role in the movie, and after seeing the characters, we are sure this movie is going to be worth the wait. Dara Shikoh – Ranveer Singh (c) SLB Films If it wasn't for movies like 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat', we would have never discovered Ranveer's talent of nailing historical roles. Taking yet another period project, Ranveer will be seen as Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal's eldest son Dara Shikoh. Many may not know this, but he was the rightful and favoured successor of the throne. However, his brother Aurangzeb defeated and killed him, in the battle. Things that power makes you do! Shah Jahan- Anil Kapoor (c) Facebook As per reports, Anil Kapoor will be seen as the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Yes, we all know he built the 'Taj Mahal', which is considered to be the most unique symbol of love, but at the same time, he was also considered to be one of the most beloved, talented and accomplished kings of the Mughal dynasty. However, we all know how his own son dethroned him and imprisoned him. Jahanara Begum- Kareena Kapoor Khan The stunning #kareena Kapoor Khan @falgunishanepeacockindia #ICW2018 #thecoutureweek #bridal #couture #bling #fashion #instapic # instafashion #fashionshow #runwaywalk #showstopper #kareenakapoorkhan Styled by @mohitrai @terra_inde @themallatoaktree @imageboutiqueshop A post shared by Falguni Shane Peacock India (@falgunishanepeacockindia) on Jul 27, 2018 at 2:27am PDT Essaying the role of Dara and Aurangzeb's sister will be Bebo. While women never really had a strong say during the Mughal era, Jahanara, on the other hand, was known for expressing her views openly, and her views were taken quite seriously in the royal court. We have seen Kareena in the historic film 'Asoka' before, but this is the first time we will see her portraying a character like this. Begum Nadira Banu - Alia Bhatt (c) Instagram Isn't she just ruling Bollywood right now? Alia will be seen romancing Ranveer as his wife in 'Takht'. After 'Gully Boys', the two will be seen in this movie and we already approve of this on-screen jodi. Aurangzeb- Vicky Kaushal (c) Twitter Playing the parallel lead against Ranveer will be Vicky Kaushal. He is Bollywood's next rising star and has already knocked us out with his brilliant performance in 'Sanju'. Donning a negative character this time, Vicky will play the barbaric ruler. Dilras Banu Begum- Bhumi Pednekar (c) Facebook Starring opposite Vicky will be Bhumi, playing his wife Dilras Banu Begum. We have always seen her as the girl-next-door from a small town, but this time she will be seen in a different avatar altogether. Helper In The Harem  - Janhvi Kapoor   M ðºðð¼ A post shared by Janhvi Kapoor (@janhvikapoor) on May 8, 2018 at 2:46am PDT She made her Bollywood debut with 'Dhadak' opposite Ishaan Khatter that received mixed reactions. And now, as per reports, she will be seen playing the role of a helper in the royal harem.

Shah Rukh Khan Shared A Heartfelt Tribute For 'Baapji' Atal Bihari Vajpayee

The entire nation is mourning right now after we lost one of the most legendary leader this country has ever seen. Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away yesterday at the age of 93 and ever since then, social media has been flooded with heartfelt messages from everyone. For a lot of us millennials, he was the first prime minister we remember and the person who probably got us interested in politics back in the day, when he led the country from 1998 to 2004. From tributes to sending thoughts and prayers to his family to reminiscing about the days of his leadership, Twitter has been filled with heartfelt messages. One of the most moving note came from Shah Rukh Khan as he fondly remembered the times he had the opportunity to meet him. Google Tracks Users Even When They Don't Want To Be Tracked

Google has now confirmed that the search engine giant tracks its users even when the feature is turned off by users. The news was broken by Princeton Researchers and the Associated Press earlier this week. The report detailed that whether you are on iOS or Android, many Google apps including Google Maps store a user's location whenever the application is open.  © Google Applications like Google Maps require access to your location in order to help users navigate in real-time. This means that users have to allow that access, especially on iOS. If users don't want their location data to be stored, Google offers a feature called 'Location History' with can pause the tracking. Google's support page details that the Location History feature can be turned off if a user does not want data like places visited to be stored on Google's servers. "With Location History off, the places you go are no longer stored," the document read. The AP investigation showed this was not entirely true.  Google's updated the support page, which now says, "This setting does not affect other location services on your device," and adds, "Some location data may be saved as part of your activity on other services, like Search and Maps.” © Reuters "We have been updating the explanatory language about Location History to make it more consistent and clear across our platforms and help centers." Google said in a statement to AP. If you don't want Google to store your location history and stop tracking altogether, you must disable "Web and App Activity" along with the Location History feature. Turning off the "Web and App Activity” will prevent Google from storing your location data on Google Maps.  The new statement by Google and details about the feature is not likely going to sit well with users; however, it is great to see transparency from the search engine giant.  Source: Associated Press

Here's How The Nation Is Mourning The Loss Of The Visionary Leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee

For a lot of us, Atal Bihari Vajpayee is probably one of the first major political names we remember growing up. The most iconic and beloved prime minister the nation has ever had, he led the country between 1998 to 2004.  We celebrated our 72nd Independence Day yesterday, but the celebrations were cut short with the sad news of the passing away of Atal Bihari Vajpayee today.  AIIMS released a statement today which said, “It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 05:05 PM on 16.08.2018.” The statement further read, “Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated over the last 36 hours and he was put on life support systems. Despite the best of efforts, we have lost him today.” As soon as the news broke out, people started mourning the loss of a great leader and shared their condolences online. Here's what PM Narendra Modi tweeted. India grieves the demise of our beloved Atal Ji.

His passing away marks the end of an era. He lived for the nation and served it assiduously for decades. Top 4 Exercises For A Killer Six-Pack Core

Almost every other dude these days joins a gym in hopes of building abs. Blame it on Instagram, every skinny guy next door with a poorly developed core is a fitness model or at least, introduces himself like that.  Let me start by saying that you can get to see your abs only if you are at a certain low body fat level (less than 12% for most). If you are carrying layers of fat around your midsection, ab exercises can`t do anything for you. Attain a lower body fat percentage by dieting and training and add the following ab exercises in your routine to see your abs more prominently. 1. Leg Raise © Thinstock Leg raises work your abs and the obliques, and is fairly popular. That also makes it one of the most common exercises done with the most butchered form. The problem occurs when people start extending their legs fully in any variant of leg raise. They end up using their 'psoas major muscle' more than the abs. This can overtime result in lower back pain. As a beginner, never start with hanging leg raise. It is an advanced variation which can be done only if you have mastered basic versions like lying knee raise, lying bent leg raise and lying straight leg raise. Once you are comfortable with the basic variants, go ahead with hanging leg raise.  2. Ab Wheel Rollout © Pixabay To do this highly effective exercise, you need a basic ab wheel available at most sports store and online costing anywhere between Rs.300-1500. Counted among the best anterior core building exercise, you need to have a good base of training abdominal muscles via planks and sit-ups so as not to find yourself in pain after doing it. 3. Wood Chopper © Leanitup Also known as cable chop, this exercise is unique in its own way since it`s a multidirectional ab movement working both abs and obliques. Another best thing about this exercise is anyone from beginners to advanced can do this exercise by varying the load on cable station. There are two ways to perform this exercise a) High to low chop: Set the cable at high position on the cable station using a rope or D handle bar. Stand at approximately arms length away from the pulley. Grabbing the handle with both hands, pull it down across your body towards the knee farther from station while rotating your torso slightly. b) Low to high chop:-Cable should be set up at low position and you will now direct the handle towards the shoulder farther from station. Note:-Rotating the torso too much can take the tension away from abs. 4. Compound Exercises © YouTube Here`s the real deal. I don`t think we can make the best out of any ab building program if we aren`t doing basic compound lifts including barbell rows, barbell squatting(front and back), overhead pressing ,deadlifts and push-ups, etc. All these exercise put considerable tension on your midsection working that core without you even knowing. A 'Bharat Ratna' In Its Truest Sense, Why Atal Bihari Vajpayee Remains India's Crowning Glory

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India's 10th Prime Minister and perhaps also one of the most beloved leaders among the massed, changed the face of India and even Indian politics on the global platform. Showing the world just how crucial political positions are meant to be held, he put India on the roadmap to development and international recognition. © Reuters Vajpayee was known for having been India's first non-Congress PM and his tenure was marked by a myriad of memorable events. An excellent orator, gifted writer and a visionary, he wished to make India strong, independent and glorious, and remains to be one of the most important personalities who redefined secularism in our nation. The Backstory © Reuters Born in Gwalior on 25th December 1924, Vajpayee's father was a poet and a school teacher who imbibed in him the love for the written word. A meritorious student, he scored distinctions in Hindi, English and Sanskrit in college and graduated with a first-class M.A. degree in Political Science from DAV College in Kanpur. Due to the India-Pakistan partition riots, he had to give up studying for his law degree. © Reuters Vajpayee's first brush with politics was during the Quit India Movement when he and his elder brother were put in jail for 23 days. In 1951 he became the National Secretary of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which was to later morph into the Bhartiya Janata Party. As the party's founding member, he went on to change the face of Indian politics in the years to follow. When he took over the reins as PM in 1996, he stepped forward to shoulder his responsibilities with a vision in mind, one that he came to fulfil during his term. Though there have been a few events that went awry during his tenure, his achievements overshadow a lot of it and his ways continue to remain unparalleled to this day. © Twitter Why The 2015 Bharat Ratna Awardee Truly Deserves To Wear The Crown While Vajpayee's roadmap to lead India towards development was well charted, he put his words to action and held open India's road to glory by launching ambitious and successful road projects - the Golden Quadrilateral and the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna. It connected a greater part of rural India and made access to health care, transport and education much easier. © Reuters During his tenure, India's GDP saw an all-time high, one that was close to a double digit. The Fiscal Responsibility Act boosted public-sector savings, which rose from -0.8% of GDP in FY 2000, to 2.3% in FY 2005.  The Telecom Revolution is credited to him because he introduced the New Telecom Policy, which led to greater telecom penetration which rose from 3% in 1993 to 70% in 2012. © Reuters Vajpayee is also known for improving India's relations with the US as well as Pakistan. Bill Clinton's visit to India in 2000 ended the cold war between the two countries. He also inaugurated the Delhi-Lahore Bus service and rode on it to Lahore, thereby establishing road connectivity between the two nations since 1947. His love for science and a strong belief in the development of India in the field of technology, allowed him to show faith in India's capabilities to achieve greatness in this arena too.  In 1998, India successfully conducted 5 underground Nuclear tests in a week and this happened under his leadership, which gave India a major upper-hand internationally. Moreover, he also passed the Chandrayan-I project, which saw India's own spacecraft land on the moon in 2008.  © Reuters Another great move by the former PM has to be the launch of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in 2002 that declared education as a Fundamental Right in India, thereby providing universal access to free elementary education for children aged 6-14 years. A move that has been lauded by the nation at large and put India on its path to great achievements. Interestingly, with Delhi Metro's latest Pink Line opening its gates to the public, we also need to mention that it was Vajpayee who had given approval to the Delhi Metro Project and made it the country's best mass transit public transport system! © Reuters There is a lot more we'd like to say but words fall short at a time like this. When the entire nation mourns the loss of a great leader and visionary, we leave you with this quote by the amazing man himself:  “This power of democracy is a matter of pride for our country, something which we must always cherish, preserve and further strengthen.” © Twitter

We Bought Clothes Worth Rs 6000 On Sale & Came Up With 13 Expensive Looking Streetstyle Outfits

Talking about superficial struggles, the most relatable one (I say relatable because I'm sure you'd agree) is dressing well when you're super broke. I'm not going to quote Carrie Bradshaw from SATC and say "When I first moved to New York and I was totally broke, sometimes I bought Vogue instead of dinner. I found it fed me more" because one, we're in India - a place where being broke is completely different from being broke in New York, and two, I need to eat. So, I realized the only way out is to cut corners. You know what's the word that fills up my soul with joy? 'Sale'. Well, who doesn't like discounts? Plus, I work in fashion and it's important for me to keep up appearances (sigh). But, doing what I do, I also learned how to look decently, err, 'well-to-do', while actually being broke most of the time. Today, I'm going to spill my secret, without any reservation whatsoever, and give you an actual demo of how I make my broke ass look pretty sorted by shopping smart. I decided to take up a shopping and styling challenge - where I'll curate maximum number of outfits under a budget. While it was scary to start with, I did strive hard and brought my inner Monisha Sarabhai out. I bargained, haggled, put notifications on my phone for app-based sales, did a PhD on how to use coupon codes to my advantage, kept a thorough check on every sale going on in every brand outlet - and finally managed to do the only thing in my life that my mother will probably be proud of - came up with 13 dope ass, expensive looking streetstyle outfits, by shelling out only 6,000 bucks. 'Proud' would be an understatement. You know you agree. Here, I will show you the looks, and also share where I got which piece, and how much I had to shell out for each piece. Of course, I did a whole lot of mix-n-match because hey, that's clever and I had a budget of 6K. Outfit 1: © MensXP You can never go wrong with a layered look. Plus, if that contains denim, that's probably the safest bet ever. Throw in the right accessories, and you're all set! © MensXP One of the most common elements in streetstyle is longlines T-shirts, because A - they look dope, and B - nothing is more comfortable. © MensXP Take off the jacket, and it almost looks like a different outfit altogether. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt - H&M - INR 433/- Grey Trousers - Sarojini Nagar - INR 300/- Denim jacket - Sarojini Nagar - INR 275/- Outfit 2: © MensXP My inspiration for this look was Diljit Dosanjh. The way he wears those oversized jackets is a fashion class in itself. Well, his mostly are Balenciaga and Gucci, but let's not talk about things that will make us sad. © MensXP The best thing about this look is that you can have multiple aesthetics with the same elements, just by putting in minor tweaks. Take the jacket off, and there you have it! © MensXP Or use it like a cape. © MensXP No matter how you choose to wear it, this outfit will make you look dapper. Where I bought it from: Oversized jacket - Zara - INR 990/- White trousers - Zara - INR 990/- Graphic sleeveless tank top - Max - INR 200/- Outfit 3: © MensXP This is my streetstyle twist to the most popular outift ever - white T-shirt and blue jeans. I just changed it to a white longline T-shirt, and a majorly ripped and distressed pair of jeans (I ripped it myself, ssshhh). © MensXP I added a black denim jacket, and that gave the outfit a really cool twist. You don't necessarily need to wear it, just carry it around like an accessory for nailing the look. Where I bought it from: White longline T-shirt - H&M - INR 250/- Blue jeans (that I ripped myself) - Sarojini Nagar - INR 200/- Black denim jacket (I added the patches on it) - Sarojini Nagar - INR 200/- Outfit 4: © MensXP A sleeveless frayed shirt is a must have if you want that raw, edgy aesthetic that's also very 'street'. Plus, it's a good incentive to look forward to 'arm days' in the gym! © MensXP Pair it with a well-fitting pair of trousers, cropped at the ankles, and you're good to go. Oh, and accessorize well. Where I bought it from: Frayed, sleeveless Shirt - Koovs - INR 333/- The trousers from Outfit 1. Outfit 5: © MensXP I have always had a major weakness for all-white looks. There's just something inexplicably classy about them. Of course I had to have one. © MensXP I paired the white longline T-shirt from Outfit 3 with the white trousers from Outfit 2 - and voila! Pro tip: Carry a sling bag across the shoulder for a contrasting edge. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt from outfit 3. Trousers from outfit 2. Outfit 6: © MensXP Just like I love all-white looks, all-black looks have an equally special place in my lookbook. No, it's got nothing to do with the whole goth thing. Or does it? © MensXP Take your jacket off and hold it on your shoulder for a cutthroat, no-nonsense aesthetic. Where I bought it from: Black longline T-shirt - Koovs - INR 333/- Black trousers - Sarojini Nagar - INR 220/- Outfit 7: © MensXP Want a playful, yet sophisticated street aesthetic? Opt for pastels. © MensXP A relaxed baby pink T-shirt paired with a pair of well-fitted grey trousers. Add a fun cap for that playful element. I also added a long jacket, just as a prop here - but it can totally be worn if it's not that hot outside. Where I bought it from: Pink T-shirt - H&M - INR 300 The trousers from outfit 1. The jacket from outfit 2. Outfit 8: © MensXP Pop colours are in, and the fact that pink is still demonized as a colour for some weird reason among men, is the reason behind my choice of T-shirt. © MensXP This, right here, is a cool AF outfit and you know it. Where I bought it from: Pink T-shirt - H&M - INR 250/- The trousers from outift 2. Outfit 9: © MensXP Okay, so my love for all-white outfits is rather strong. © MensXP It's boiling hot outside and we need to embrace tank tops. And why not? Aesthetically too, I love this outfit. Where I bought it from: White tank top - Koovs - INR 250/- The trousers from outfit 2. Outfit 10: © MensXP Again, my love for all-black outfits is not ready to take a back seat. Déjà vu much? © MensXP I added a bit of colour by choosing a tank top with a huge logo, and carried my long jacket as a part of the outfit without actually wearing it. Where I bought it from: Black tank top - Sarojini Nagar - INR 100/- The trousers from outfit 6. Outfit 11: © MensXP I clearly am a fan of black and white. So why not mix 'em up? © MensXP Again, threw the long jacket as an accessory for an added street vibe. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt from outfit 6. Trousers from outfit 2. Outfit 12: © MensXP You know what's a safe combination if you're not confident about your shuffle game? A black T-shirt with blue jeans. © MensXP It's a self-sufficient look. You don't need anything else to make it look good. Just accessorize right. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt from outfit 6. Jeans from outfit 3. Outfit 13: © MensXP A really basic outfit can look really classy, given you have paired it well. © MensXP I wore a bright parchment pink T-shirt with my trusted white trousers, and cropped it at the ankles for a comfortable, functional, yet classy look. I wore bright orange shoes, a yellow cap, and round nerd glasses to seal it together. Where I bought it from: Pink T-shirt - Max - INR 199/- Trousers from outfit 2. Budget details: Longline T-shirt (INR 433/-) + Grey Trousers (INR 300/-) + Blue Denim jacket - (INR 275/-) + Oversized jacket (INR 990/-) + White trousers (INR 990/-) + Graphic sleeveless tank top (INR 200/-) + White longline T-shirt (INR 250/-) + Blue jeans (INR 200/-) + Black denim jacket (INR 250/-) + Frayed, sleeveless Shirt (INR 333/-) + Black longline T-shirt (INR 333/-) + Black trousers - (INR 220/-) + Pink T-shirt (INR 450) + Hot Pink T-shirt (INR 250/-) + White tank top (INR 250/-) + Black tank top - (INR 100/-) + Pink T-shirt (INR 199/-) = Total INR 6,023/- Moral of the story: You don't exactly need to be rich, you just need to shop smart. Also, learning the art of bargaining goes a long way in flea markets. Happy shopping! May the discount Gods bless you. The Best Black T-Shirts That Will Make All Young Men Look Their Absolute Best

Black never goes out of fashion. Considered to be the bread and butter of most Indian men, black t-shirts are a common fashion staple that, if done right, can make all the difference in making you stand out from the crowd. But simply wearing a black tee won't be enough to help you look good, you'll have to keep in mind a few external factors as well:   1. What you pair them with: As is the case with any other piece of clothing, what you pair your black tee with is absolutely essential in determining how good (or bad!) you look. And there is no 'one size fits all' mentality at work here - in other words, what may look good with one black tee might not necessarily look good with another.  2. Pay close attention to the neck: Whether you are opting for a polo collar, a round neck, a v-neck or a Henley neck will make all the difference in determining how fashion-forward you look. After all, what you pair with a v-neck may not work for a polo collar, or vice-versa.  3. Don't commit any fashion faux pas: While we all define our own sense of fashion, we should - at the very least - resolve not to commit any fashion faux pas. No black t-shirt will make you look good if you team it up with a pair of crocs, show off those boxers that NO ONE wants to see, or decide to wear sunglasses at night (you're not Bappi Lahiri!).    To put it in simpler terms, wearing something black is probably the most tried and tested way of ensuring that you adorn an ensemble that'll be fashion-forward. So to help all young men out there look their absolute best, we at MensXP have compiled a list of the best black t-shirts for men that happen to be budget-friendly as well.   Here Are The Best Black T-Shirts For Men That Will Give Your Wardrobe A Fashion-Forward Upgrade  1. 7 Rules All Men Must Follow To Master The Art Of Flirting With Women

It's an unsaid fact, but most girls like it when boys come over and flirt with them. Flirting is a definite healthy way to interact with someone from the opposite ***, if you're doing it right that is. But there's a really thin line between healthy and harmless flirting and flirting where you seem like a creep to her.  Sometimes you can get a little ahead of yourself and come off as disrespectful or unknowingly creepy when you do approach a girl intending to flirt with her. But remember, there's a big difference between using a dirty pick-up line and having a proper conversation with a woman. © 20th Television Respecting a woman and her boundaries is the right way to go about flirting with a woman. You can flirt all the way and win her heart by just maintaining some rules. Here's the simplest way to flirt with women, if you keep these rules in mind: Rule No. 1: Play It Right The fear of rejection, while approaching a woman, looms high and it can scare you into talking to any woman. But you need to understand, that rejection is a part of life and the only way to probably avoid it, is if you approach her politely and respectfully, rather than worrying about being funny or using a cheesy pick-up line.  Just be yourself and have a real conversation and she won't reject you in the first go. Believe me, a lot of women actually like a guy to just approach them with a simple 'hey, how's it going?' rather than 'are you hurt? Because it seems like you've fallen from heaven' kinda cheesy stuff. If she does reject you, it could be because she's not looking to meet new people or is just busy and unavailable. That in no way is a cue for 'try harder'. That just means you leave her alone. Trust me, you'll know when she wants you to try harder and it's not 'I am really not looking to meet someone tonight' or 'I am out with the girls tonight, sorry'.  Never take rejection to heart and act out of anger by becoming egoistic about it. You tried and she wasn't really interested. That's all. Move on! Always play your cards right. Rule No. 2: Maintain Eye Contact To know if she's interested in you and to keep her interest in you alive, always maintain eye contact with her. Not in a creepy way that'll make her uncomfortable, of course. Eye contact is a window to intrigue her further and lets her know subtly, that you're into her. Always smile, every time your eyes meet. It's best to maintain eye contact even before you start a conversation. This brings about confidence in you if she meets your gaze from afar. Rule No. 3: Observe, Don't Stare Always observe the woman you're hitting on. Observe how she gestures, what her body language is like, the way she talks, what she does subconsciously. It helps you know your moves a little bit in advance, depending on your astute powers of observation, of course. Just don't stare at her.  There's a difference between observing someone and staring at them and if you don't know what that is, I can't help you bud. Rule No. 4: Always Keep A Smile Your smile is a warm giveaway of the fact that you're interested in her and you'd love to get to know her better. Even if you suck at flirting, just keep a charming smile alive on your face. It delivers a lot of confidence and exuberance and she'll know you're a pleasant guy, just trying your best to flirt and she'll definitely help you out.  It's true what they say, a smile can really go a long way. Rule No. 5: Be A Good Listener Sometimes, women really dislike the fact that you keep talking to prove yourself to them. That's why it's imperative to listen as much as you talk.  Being a good listener is a healthy habit and if you're just about getting to know her, then don't be all about yourself. In fact, ask her questions and learn to listen to what she says. If she sees you interested in her banter, she will definitely want to talk to you more. Rule No. 6: Approach Her Normally It's time to approach her and don't make it seem like a movie, waiting for the music to start playing, while you go in slo-mo, and everyone stares at you. Nope, that's not how it's done, mate. Just be confident, maintain that eye-contact and that smile and start with the simplest opening line like 'hey'! Rule No. 7: Appropriate Touching Is Good Don't get me wrong. I don't mean touch her and make her feel uncomfortable, but some sort of bodily contact is important to establish a connection and affection.  Obviously, if she's uncomfortable, don't do it. Like this one time, I was out with a girl who had the perfect curls and I couldn't resist touching her hair or playing with them and she got so uncomfortable with that, that instead of asking me to stop, she ended our date!  Well, you only learn from your mistakes, don't you? So maybe keep brushing your arm against her every once in a while. If it's a crowded bar, walk behind her and keep your hand at the small of her back. Not too low, or too high, just perfectly in the middle so you can guide her through the crowd. Touch establishes being comfortable yet flirtatious around someone. So, here are the 7 crucial rules to follow when it comes to flirting with someone you've just met. If you think you've been doing it wrong, with 0 success rate, now you know why. Keep these things in mind and you're golden with the ladies!

Twitter Came Together To Help Out A 'Rocket Science' Graduate Find A Job

Just a couple of weeks ago we faced the reality of how hard finding a job if when we saw a homeless guy go viral after he actually handed out resumes on the side of a road as a way to look for work. Today I saw this young homeless man asking for people to take a resume rather than asking for money. If anyone in the Silicon Valley could help him out, that would be amazing. Please RT so we can help David out! pic.twitter.com/ewoE3PKFx7 — FullMakeup Alchemist (@jaysc0) July 27, 2018 People were so impressed with him and how he was doing everything he could to change his unfortunate conditions at the time. The power of internet helped him out immensely and he got offers from companies like Netflix and Google. Yep, really! See, these are the kind of heart-warming stories we need to distract us from all the bad things happening in the world. People helping out people, people trying their best to finding work and start living an honest life. Now, there's another similar story of the internet coming together to help out a stranger in need. Here's Mohamed, a rocket scientist who recently graduated from University College London with two degrees in space engineering, who needed a little help finding a job. I mean, it's comforting to see that everyone has to struggle after getting a degree, but at the same time, if a rocket scientist is finding it hard to find work, then what hope is left for all of us? Coming back to Mohamed, he came to Britain as a refugee when he was kid and after successfully completing his degree, he is now looking for a job in finance, and is roaming the area around London's Canary Wharf holding a poster looking for a job. I met Mohamed coming out of the tube at Canary Wharf this morning. He came to the UK as a child refugee and has two degrees in Space Engineering. He's looking for a JOB IN FINANCE.

Ranveer & Deepika's Wedding Plans Sound Glorious But It Might Be A Social Media-Free Shaadi

The developments about Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone's impending wedding have been flooding the internet for a while now, and if reports are to be believed, then 20th November 2018 is the day they will finally become man and wife. While the two have never officially admitted to dating each other, their actions and open PDA on the social media says it all. © Twitter After knowing and dating each other for over four years, the two have decided to take their vows in a grand albeit secretive affair. The duo has decided to keep it a low-key event and will celebrate their big day with just their close friends and relatives. © Twitter We bet millions are waiting to see the beautiful pictures of them as the bride and groom, but here's the catch- the couple has made sure that their wedding remains private and that we are not a part of it, even virtually. This simply means that unlike Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma's or Sonam Kapoor & Anand Ahuja's, we won't have their wedding pictures flooding our timelines. © Twitter Pretty sure this is a heartbreaking piece of news for millions of fans who were counting the days to this grand occasion. A source revealed to DNA that the couple has specifically asked the guests to not bring their cell phones to the function. © Twitter “They have asked guests to not bring their cell phones to the ceremony. Considering the fact that it will be a destination wedding, there will be fewer people and all the arrangements will be in place. While the two, in all likelihood, will share pictures with their fans eventually, they hope this step will help them guard their privacy,” the source stated. © Twitter Sure, this does not sound ideal but honestly, it's their day and they have all the right to ensure their special moment remains private.

Ajit Wadekar: The Man Whose Legacy Will Echo In Indian Cricket Long After His Death

Once upon a time, a young engineering student boarded a bus to attend his classes at Mumbai's famed Elphinstone College. Everything seemed normal and there was nothing out of the ordinary, but that very bus ride was going to change that young man's life forever.  It was on this bus ride, that the young student ran into his senior Baloo Gupte - who would eventually become a prolific leg-spinner for India. Gupte asked the young man if he wanted to be the 12th man for their college team, where he would earn Rs 3 per game. The young student got excited and agreed. And, as fate will have it, India lost out on an engineer, but found a history-making captain - Ajit Wadekar. With a little over 2000 runs in 37 Tests and just 73 runs in two ODIs he played, the statistics of Ajit Wadekar might not appeal to the new-age fans of Indian cricket, who are used to watching the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma break records with blistering batting performances.  But, for the seasoned campaigners who saw the makings of India as a world dominating cricket force it is today, Wadekar was no less than a God, whose death on 15th August marked a sad day in the sport. With a heavy heart we bid adieu to Ajit Wadekar. The former India captain is no more. Cricketer, Coach, Manager and Chairman of Selectors - Mr Wadekar served Indian cricket in many different ways. pic.twitter.com/6zdFtleXB9 — BCCI (@BCCI) August 15, 2018 An aggressive left-handed batsman, Wadekar picked the bones of opposition bowlers in first-class cricket where he amassed 15,380 runs including 36 hundreds and 84 fifties during his playing time from 1958 till 1975. It was his strong batting performances in domestic cricket that saw him earning the India call-up in 1966. © Getty Images While his ordinary scores of 8 and 4 in the two innings against West Indies didn't do justice to his abilities with the willow, Wadekar quickly made amends by scoring his maiden fifty in the very next game.  In his next three games, Wadekar went on to score three fifties including a score of 91 in England's hostile conditions, where the current crop of Indian cricketers is still struggling. With 242 runs in three matches, Wadekar had become a vital cog in India's middle-order. If his exploits in England showed his ability to perform under pressure, Wadekar showed signs of greatness when he smashed a brilliant 99 in the second Test against Australia in 1967. A well-deserved fifty eluded him in the third and final Test Down Under, but Wadekar, by now, had established himself as a tower of strength for the Indian batting order. But, the best was yet to come. Ajit Wadekar's impact on Indian cricket is immense. His contemporaries worshipped him, such was his aura. Found him to be a tough character as coach. Exceptional Indian cricketer... RIP Sir.??
Recorded this on my iPhone last Dec from Point in a friendly fixture. So glad I did. pic.twitter.com/XbdFGn4Izp — Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) August 15, 2018 And, when it did, the world took notice of arguably one of the best No. 3 batsmen in the history of Indian cricket.  After beginning the 1968 tour of New Zealand with consecutive fifties in the first Test, Wadekar slammed a match-winning 143 at Wellington which was pivotal in scripting India's 3-1 series win- their very first triumph away from home. At a time when India - under the tutelage of the great Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi - were establishing themselves as a genuine force in world cricket, Wadekar etched his name in the history books during what would soon become the golden year of Indian cricket.  With Pataudi opting out of the tough tour of the fearsome West Indies side in 1971, Wadekar - with the help of Vijay Merchant's casting vote - was bestowed with the responsibility of leading the side. © Getty Images The batting genius of Dilip Sardesai and debutant Sunil Gavaskar ensured India would go on to shock Sir Garfield Sobers' brigade with a 1-0 win in the five-match Test series. And, that's not all. After taming the Caribbean giants in their own den, the Wadekar-led India toured England and disturbed the world order in cricket. After the first two games resulted in a draw, the three-match series was down to the wire in the third and final Test. Ray Illingworth's team tried to contain their opponents, but Bhagwath Chandrasekhar's leg-break (2-76 & 6-38) bamboozled the Englishmen who were eventually forced to endure a four-wicket loss and, in turn, a 1-0 series defeat. Deeply saddened by the passing away of #AjitWadekar He was more than a coach to the entire team - a father figure and a shrewd tactician. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. He will be missed. Thank you Sir for the confidence shown in my ability! ?? — Anil Kumble (@anilkumble1074) August 16, 2018 While India were officially crowned World Cup winners under the leadership of Kapil Dev in 1983, Wadekar's side - owing to victories against West Indies and England away from home - was unofficially deemed as the world champion in 1971. Another series win against England (this time at home) in 1972/73 - where he amassed 312 runs - further boosted Wadekar's resume as a prolific leader.  But, in 1974, when his end as a cricketer came, it was swift and cruel. A 3-0 series loss on the 1974 tour of England (which included India's 42-run dismissal - their lowest-ever Test total till date - at Lord's), saw Wadekar getting sacked as captain which further instigated his decision to call time on his career. © Getty Images It was definitely not the end many had thought for Wadekar, but it still didn't stop him from contributing to Indian cricket. Later in 1992, Wadekar became the first official head coach appointed by India. Under his four-year tenure, India enjoyed a dominant run on the spinning tracks at home, most notably blanking England 3-0 in 1992/93. Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Ajit Wadekar Sir. He was someone who was instrumental in bringing out the best in us during the 90s. We'll always be grateful for his advice and guidance. Praying for strength for his family during this difficult time. ?? RIP pic.twitter.com/coSyac73ot — Sachin Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) August 16, 2018 His next notable contribution came during India's tour of New Zealand in 1994. It was Wadekar who undoubtedly played a crucial role in turning Sachin Tendulkar's career around by making the 'Master Blaster' open the innings for India in the ODI series against the Kiwis. And, as it turned out, Tendulkar went on to corner all batting records and emerged as one of the game's greatest ever batsmen.  A chance cricketer, prolific captain, admirable coach and, most importantly, a great human being; Wadekar donned many hats over the years in Indian cricket. And, while he might have left his ailing mortal body behind, Wadekar's immortal feats and achievements will live on forever and echo in eternity.

Saif Turns 48 & Here's How He Gave Every Millennial Kid The Ultimate Cool Dude Goals

The Nawab of B-town is close to hitting a half-century, and we can't help but reminiscence about all the times over the past two decades when he gave every millennial kid the best walk-through on how to be the 'coolest dude' around.  There is no denying that since the very beginning, Saif Ali Khan has been known as the chocolate boy of B-town. He gave an entire generation of young men the ultimate cool dude #goals and yes, we want to go down that very particular lane on his 48th birthday today. © Twitter Saif kicked off his 48th birthday celebration in style by cutting a decadent looking cake at midnight amidst all the hullabaloo, courtesy his close bunch of family and friends.  While the world is busy gushing over him, we feel credit needs to be given to the guy who pulls off the cool dude antics like no other actor in Bollywood. He's got the looks, the swag and even the persona to speak for it and we have decided to prove our point by picking out 7 of his prime 'cool dude' personas from a number of movies.  1. Heartthrob & Headache Packed In One - As Deepak Kumar In 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' © YouTube This was one of Saif's initial movies that was an absolute hit at the box office, and also put him on the radar as a star who could play on his looks and act well too.  As a romantic hero, Saif's character was a rather light-hearted one that made him look good in those relaxed-looking suits, long locks and charms that struck a chord with his huge female fanbase.  Having played his part well, Deepak's character became close to several young men as well, who wanted to emulate the dynamic Deepak Kumar in real life. 2. The Ladies' Man - As Karan Kapoor In 'Hum Tum' © YouTube Karan's character was a major hit, and so was the movie that was hailed as a relatable take on the dichotomy men and women share in real life.  In 'Hum Tum' Saif played a flamboyant and carefree young man who knows how to get around with women. Even though Karan's looks at certain points in the movie seemed a little questionable, he managed to pull it off when coupled with his “ways”.  Karan was witty, charming and knew how to tread through tricky situations, while having fun at the same time.  3. Crazy Car Racer - As RV In 'Ta Ra Rum Pum' © Twitter RV came across as that guy in our friend circle who is extremely passionate about that one dream that keeps him awake at night.  A hardcore car-racing enthusiast, RV's character did not only come through as that guy who wanted to achieve all his dreams but also as the one who's successfully living the high life.  He's the #1 race car driver, a great guy to hang out with and later, a cool dad who struggles hard to protect his kids and their innocent smiles.  Saif's character in this movie didn't only charm the women when he tried to win Radhika over with his antics, but his ways of turning tough situations fun also made a cool impression among many. 4. The Boy Next Door - As Sameer In 'Dil Chahta Hai' © YouTube Yet another memorable character that's a favourite of every millennial. Sameer was the fun guy all of us wanted to be around.  He is a good friend and someone who's not scared of wearing his heart on his sleeve. Sameer's struggles as a friend as well as a lover did hit home a few times but his demeanour and his perspective reminded us where we'd be without a guy like him in our life.  Fun, dependable and cooler than a cucumber, he stood out in the movie with his brilliant comic timing. 5. Truly Yours - As Rohit Patel In 'Kal Ho Na Ho' © YouTube Rohit is that honest man, who is an occasional flirt, who tries to make things work for him in one way or another.  With a soft heart that tricks him pretty easily, he's much cooler than he gives himself credit for. Struggling in a number of ways to balance his life to the best of his ability, we often find a trace of the guy he can be, should he choose to take things into greater consideration.  He's funny, honest and caring which to us, makes him pretty cool. 6. Running After Time - As Nikhil Arora In 'Salaam Namaste' © Twitter Another one of the Nawaab's finest roles, Nikhil comes with his own quirks that we cannot help but laugh at. He is always late, struggles with his emotions AND has a hard time expressing them.  Nikhil is all about having fun and living the life while he struggles to constantly balance the equilibrium in his relationships. With some hilarious dialogues and a persona that screams “IDGAF” about the world, but a heart that feels deeply, he reminds us a lot of the “cool” guys we have come across in life. 7. The Cool Casanova - As Gautam Kapoor In 'Cocktail' © YouTube Gautam's character epitomises the 'cool dude' title because he's all that and much more.  One of Saif's super successful movies, Gautam's story is all about living the 'wild' life with a YOLO attitude. The perfect example of a Casanova, he's often the guy who gets away being the sleazy flirt because he's so cool and charming about it. He shows you how to live life on your own terms and never budge when an opportunity presents itself. Saif makes a statement in each of these characters and even when he's close to hitting the half-century, we can't help but admire his skills and charms of delivering such great performances and giving us the 'cool dude' goals.

Milind Soman 'Exercises' His Freedom By Running 72 Kms To Mark 72 Years Of Independence

The 90s era was possibly one of the best times to grow up in and Milind Soman was unarguably one of the reasons for us not having a dull or boring childhood. While, most of us french fries- and soda-consuming folks get exhausted and start huffing and puffing after a 15 minute workout at 25, Milind Soman is giving major fitness goals to people even at 52. © Instagram And Milind Soman once again proved why he is hailed as the 'Ironman of India', with his interesting way of celebrating Independence Day. While most of have differing perceptions and opinion about freedom, Milind Soman introduced us to a new kind of freedom - to live in a healthy way and to promote this message, he ran 72 km in Delhi to mark the 72 years of Independence. © Instagram Milind told The Times of India, “People mark August 15 in their own way. I thought, why not celebrate it in a way that would make people fitter? To me, running is the best way to do that.” He took off from Lodhi Gardens in the morning at 6:30 AM and finished at India Gate in the evening around 4:30 PM.  Reportedly, this run was organised by United Sisters Foundation to promote the sixth edition of Bajaj Electricals Pinkathon Delhi. “I would like to wish fellow Indians on India's 72nd Independence Day and urge people to take their health and fitness seriously,” he said.  © Instagram He further added, “Running 72 km is not just to celebrate our Independence Day but also to promote the message of exercising our freedom to live in a healthy way by making the right choices of spending 30-40 minutes daily on self, clean eating, being active and challenging your physical and mental abilities to lead a fit life.” © Instagram Milind Soman belongs to that section of society for whom no matter how old they grow, we'll always say 'Age is just a number for them'. And Milind said the same thing, “Age should not be a limiting factor. We want large number of people especially women to take up running and adopt fitness in their way of life.” Milind's wife Ankita Konwar and mother Usha Soman too celebrated 15th August by completing 50 km in Mumbai Ultra marathon.

We Finally Know Whether Leo DiCaprio Was Dreaming Or Not At The End Of 'Inception'

More often than not, the endings of Leonardo DiCaprio movies need some more explanation and context, be it confusion or just anger. One such movie is obviously 'Titanic' with the age-old claim that there was enough space for both of them on that door. Special mention – the twisted ending of 'Shutter Island'. But, probably the most confusing ending belongs to the even more confusing movie 'Inception'. Was it a dream or reality? Did Cobb finally go back to his family or did he just dream about that in the end? These are some questions that have been left unanswered for almost a decade and we may have finally gotten the answer. Let's just get a little background before we proceed to the ending. The movie basically follows a bunch of people who specialize in stealing information from someone's mind through their dreams. But, since that wasn't difficult and weird enough, they are then supposed to actually plant an idea in a powerful businessman's mind and as you know, things don't really go exactly as they were planned. Since it's so easy for the lines between reality and dreams to become blurred, Leo's character uses a spinning top – fully aware that it spins forever in a dream but would topple if the situation is reality. In the end, though, we can see the top as it clearly kept spinning and the possibility of a happy ending becoming unclear. The mind-bending masterpiece of a movie by none other than Christopher Nolan came out eight years ago but that ending has never given us any proper answers. The supposed cliff-hanger is frustrating to say the least, but Michael Caine has finally cleared up some doubts. The actor gave everyone a little behind-the-scenes intel while attending the screening of the movie in London. “When I got the script of Inception, I was a bit puzzled by it, and I said to him, 'I don't understand where the dream is,'” Caine explained. He went on, “I said, 'When is it the dream and when is it reality?' He said, 'Well, when you're in the scene it's reality.' So, get that — if I'm in it, it's reality. If I'm not in it, it's a dream.” That's actually a good point which makes things so much easier. Let's go back to that ending once again with this newfound information, shall we? Michael Caine may have been missing from most of the movie but he was in that ending scene, so if we're going by his explanation, the happy ending was real and Leo finally went back home to his kids!

Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Pataakha' Trailer Is A Relatable Tale Of 2 Siblings Out For Each Other's Blood

Vishal Bhardwaj's movies never leave us disappointed, as there is something about him that gives his movies a unique blend that most makers can't seem to conjure. Following the same pattern is his new film 'Pataakha' starring Sanya Malhotra from 'Dangal' and Radhika Madan. The trailer of the movie is out and it is gritty, complex and hilarious. (c) B4U Motion Pictures Vishal introduces two sisters Genda Kumari or 'Chhutki' (Sanya) and Champa Kumari or 'Badki' (Radhika) who, like most siblings, are out for each other's blood and are constantly at each other's throats. (c) B4U Motion Pictures The narrator in the trailer compares their violent and turbulent relationship to that of India and Pakistan, and honestly, he's not exaggerating! Living in a village in Rajasthan with their father aka Bapu (Vijay Raaz), the film very impressively establishes the rivalry between the two sisters, that has existed right from their childhood. (c) B4U Motion Pictures From massive brawls, which are often public, to being beedi-addicts to flirting with boys just for fun, the two are always indulging in some mischief which has their poor father at his wit's end. We soon see Bapu in dire need of money, who then fixes the marriage of his daughter with a rich man (Saanand Verma). But the twist comes when both the sisters run away and end up marrying men, who turn out to be brothers.   (c) B4U Motion Pictures You can imagine their horror, as the sisters realise, that they'll have to end up living together, again! We also see Sunil Grover featuring as Dipper Naradmuni who is amazing as always.  (c) B4U Motion Pictures Clearly, this is yet another piece of fine work by Bhardwaj about an epic sibling rivalry, which I'm sure most of us can relate to. 'Pataakha' is based on acclaimed writer Charan Singh Pathik's short story 'Do Behenein' and looks very promising indeed. Check out the trailer now: The movie is all set to hit the big screen on September 28.

We've been using the smartphone for over two weeks and here's the final review of the smartphone: Design Language & Display © MensXP_Chahat Bhatia To be honest, we have no complaints here, as Huawei has managed to carve a striking yet distinctive look for its smartphones. The Iris purple colour can be spotted from afar and looks more presentable than any other smartphone in this price segment (except the white OnePlus 6). The Nova fits well in the hand and is lighter than other Huawei smartphones.  The phone is also available in a black colourway, however, you want to invest your money in something that gives your smartphone a unique identity — and that's the Iris Purple version. Since it has a glass back, you will often find fingering smudges which can be easily prevented with the supplied cover. © MensXP_Chahat Bhatia The earpiece can be found right above the notch of the display which also hosts the dual selfie camera, an IR sensor and an LED notification light.  Speaking of the display, the smartphone has a 6.3-inch IPS screen that also has an iPhone styled “notch”. The display is good enough to view content, as it is capable of displaying vivid colours and accurate sharpness. Having said that, the display has a blue hue out of the box which can be annoying for some users. But you can easily tweak that from the display settings menu. Performance © YouTube The Nova 3 is powered by Huawei's proprietary Kirin 970 SoC, that has been coupled with 6GB of RAM. The Kirin 970 chipset is supposed to be a direct equivalent of Snapdragon 845, however, we believe it's always lagging behind.  Having said that, in the context of Nova 3, it performed well and packed some serious power. We did not come across any crashes, lags or bugs during the course of our review.  We played a few rounds of PUBG without any problems, however, we did notice normal over-heating issues. The Nova 3 does come with Huawei's GPU turbo technology, which delivered a better gaming experience than other Android smartphones.  When compared to the OnePlus 6, the smartphone did fall short in every category albeit workable. The phone was also used for daily navigation, instant messaging and general web browsing which brings us to its battery life.  The Nova 3 can last a full working day which involves all the activities mentioned above. The smartphone packs a 3,750 mAh battery which also supports fast-charging. A good 20-minute charge brought the smartphone from 2% to 48% which is good enough if you want to charge your phone in a hurry.  Camera Quality © BCCL This is probably the only department where the Nova 3 beats the OnePlus 6 with ease. The company has always been known to incorporate a kickass camera on their smartphones which is one of the primary reasons for customers to buy a smartphone.  The Nova packs four cameras, as mentioned before, that use AI machine learning to tweak your pictures for quality and subject identification. The primary camera setup consists of a 24MP+16MP sensor that supports PDAF. The smartphone is also capable of taking some amazing portrait shots which can later be edited on an iPhone-like editing application.  Both primary sensors have an aperture of f/1.8 which enables the cameras to take better pictures in low-light environments. Having said that, we found the AI enabled pictures to be a bit too saturated and sometimes aggressively tuning the image that would end up giving it an artificial look.  To be honest, we didn't spend much time using the selfie camera during the course of our review because its not a priority. Since we didn't use the feature much, we can say that we liked what we saw in our preliminary tests. Here are a few sample shots for your reference: I like the camera on the Huawei #Nova3 but without the AI amplification. #technology #tech #smartphones #review A post shared by Akshay Bhalla / Høax (@editorinchief) on Aug 16, 2018 at 12:24am PDT The Final Say   The Nova 3, in our opinion, is a great alternative to the OnePlus 6. It may not outperform the popular phone by OnePlus, it does, however, have a few advantages.  The Nova 3 is capable of taking better pictures than the OnePlus 6 and also stands out more thanks to its unique design. The Nova 3's memory can also be expanded to 256GB which is yet another feature you cannot find on the OnePlus 6.  The Nova 3 is probably the only handset in the Rs 35,000 category that can take awesome images and if that is your priority, you cannot ignore this smartphone.
