LAHORE: A court in the provincial capital on Monday dismissed an appeal by the prime suspect in the Khadija stabbing case, Shah Hussain, to drop attempted murder charges.

A second appeal asking to not make pictures taken together a part of the case was also dismissed.

Hussain earlier filed a petition challenging Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah?s notice of the case.

On May 23, the chief justice took notice of the case and directed a sessions judge to submit a report on the case.

Justice Mansoor directed judicial magistrate Mubashir Hussain Awan to conduct daily hearing of the case within 30 days.

On May 3 last year, Khadija was allegedly stabbed 23 times by her classmate, Hussain, on Lahore?s Davis Road. Over a year since the horrific incident, she still awaits justice and appeals to society to raise its voice for her.

Moreover, she was also forced to sit for her law exam along with her alleged attacker recently.

Sharing her story on Geo News' Aaj Shahzab Khanzada Kay Sath earlier, Khadija had said, ?..I am standing my ground because if I let go, then this would create more such avenues."

Despite being caught on video, Hussain continues to roam free as he was able to secure a bail due to his belonging to an influential family, according to Khadija.

The sessions court granted Hussain bail on December 1, 2016, after he had spent two months behind bars. Khadija then filed an appeal against the court's decision, but it was dismissed.
